I have tried all of the popular music apps over the years and this one had the most simple layout and lets you control all of the menus that appear on the main screen. The gloss design looks nice and I'm glad it lets you see the upcoming songs when you shuffle. I only wish they put a forward and back button on either side of the play button in the 'now playing' section at the top when viewing one of the tabs. I love the lack of chaos and clutter from too many features packed into an app.

This app is great. Two features I like most about this app is the ability to backup your music and adding multiple songs to a playlist rather than just one at a time. However, I had to take one star off because there's a glitch that prevent me to add songs to a playlist SOMETIMES. I would get this "Sorry! Something is wrong" message. Hopefully this will be fixed in the near future. Anyways, great app.

Overall this is a good music player. Ads are unobtrusive, decent equalizer, plays common formats, ring tone cutter feature is nice. Sorting options are limited. There is no off button on this app. Hit the back button, it says please press back again to exit, but it doesn't exit. App screen goes away but music continues to play. If using ear buds, I can turn them off and music doesn't default to phone, making me think it's turned off, but it'll drain battery in the background. Have to force stop.

Edit: improved rating for exceptional customer service. They reached out to me after my negative review and seemed to genuinely care. I've had this app for years and really enjoyed it at first. Easy to use and navigate. Sounded good. Minimal ads. But anymore the sound quality has gone down. The equalizer is mostly ineffectual and actually lowers the volume much rather than adjusting the sound. Also I've begun having distortions when using headphones that I don't experience with any other app.

Posting this up here hoping someone will read it first: Please do something about the track numbering in album view. If I have 10 songs in an album and want to hear the album in order, it lists the song order as track 1, 10, 2, 3, 4...and as a result, I have to skip around on the album track list to get the proper order. Also, when I click the pi music notification in the status bar, it brings me to the main menu when I think it would be better if it sent you directly to the now playing screen. I'll be sending an e-mail with this same request. Other than these reasons, I've found Pi to be the best android music player for people who like to download their music from sources other than spotify and have more control over their music playing experience. Will definitely recommend this to friends should they ever need an aftermarket music player on their phone.

Downloaded this app a while back on a different phone with a couple other music players and this one did not make the cut. Changed phones tried to restore my playlist with the other app to find that it only restored the names of the playlist with no content inside (that was a lot of music from a lot of albums). Deleted that app and gave this one another try (being a top contender last time). BEST DECISIONS I COULD'VE MADE! They have updated, refined, and added so many useful things to this app, it is incredible. One of the best no-brainers being the fact that imported albums can be played in their intended order without having to reorganize everything! The UI is excellent and the app is easy to use! I could not be happier with this app right now!

Would you please add the option in portrait mode to remove the, dual view, album cover half of the screen, so that we can utilize a full screen slider. I personally have absolutely no use for viewing the album cover in this mode. I've no use for album covers at all but most especially in portrait mode. It only serves to take up space that could better be utilized by showing an entire screen of information and controls, most importantly the time slider.

I really like this app, bought the skins and removed the ads and everything is great. Much better than Amazon's music app!! I have two points of criticism...(I am using a Galaxy S9 with the latest software updates) 1. Sometimes when I am playing music, the song gets "choppy" or stops playing. When that happens, I pause the song (if it hasn't stopped already) and re-start it. It goes away for a while, but then it does it again. At first, I thought it was the music file, but other apps play the same file without stopping/chopping. The app has always done this, and also did it on my older Galaxy S4. It's quite irritating, s it would be nice if this could be fixed. 2. I wish you had a desktop version that sync'd with my cell phone. Trying to arrange my collection into playlists using the smaller interface is cumbersome. Also, it would be nice to share songs or playlists with my wife using more horsepower. I would also like to hear my music on a better sound system, like my desktop speakers. Any plans for this in the future?

for about 6 years April 2014-July 2020 this was always my go to app, I recommended it to everyone. never had issues, always worked beyond great. but lately, as of July 2020, it randomly crashes. in the middle of a song it just cuts out. thought it was just a minor issue, but it keeps getting worse, as of October 22, 2020, I'm deleting it. I love the customization, and options, but I can't listen to not even 1 full song without it cutting off, went from a 5 star rating to a 2. very disappointing

It's a clean app that works well, good customizations without being over-the-top. I have one problem: I am trying to delete "Genres" that have no tracks in them, they go away for a few seconds, then come right back, I can't get rid of them. The Genres finally went away after stopping the app and coming back in again. Another issue is that some songs with the exact same tags appear in different albums with the same album name. Tried a different music player and it wasn't the case. A buggy app.

After my previous player, this one is quick, smooth, has an aesthetically pleasing interface, and gives me features the old one threw behind a paywall in a newer version. I tend to be brand loyal unless I'm given a good reason to switch. Pi is a fantastic reason to switch. I'm not looking back. Great job, y'all! UPDATE: The player is prone to crashing, especially when running in the background, especially if I am playing a game.

Better than others I've had, for sure. I like the option to add cover pictures for songs, but a lot of times that doesn't work or the app will remove them, which is kind of a waste of time and annoying. There are bugs pretty often, like not adding things to playlists. I really like the equalizer, and I like the section to organize your podcasts. edit: Thanks for replying to my comment! I'm really happy that you're working to fix the software. I know it'll be really good once it is!

I have had Pi Music Player on my Samsung Galaxy S7 for about 2 yrs. It's the BEST music player app I've found. It's offline, so it works anywhere. It's free, the ads aren't obnoxious, I find it easy to use and it's always worked for me. It doesn't require invasive permissions, doesn't devour my battery, doesn't cause problems with other apps and doesn't use up a ton of space with extra features I neither need, nor want. Thank you for a wonderful app! I'm in LOVE with it!!! Don't change it!! :D

As far as downloading and music being imported to the app, this app is wonderful. You can NOT edit track information on the app anymore. Never had a problem with it before, but suddenly it's an issue. I've sent emails/messages concerning the issue.. nothing has changed. Wish that would get fixed. Also, make it easier to delete no longer wanted music, rather than having to connect to a PC to do so. OH! And the "shuffle".. wish it were more of a shuffle.. seems to play the same several songs over.

For whatever reason, I can't edit my previous review. Problems persist, even though I have downloaded every update. Sometimes songs pause on their own, sometimes they just refuse to play, sometimes my playlist just starts skipping on it own. Battery optimization is turned off, so that's not the issue. The player used to be great. I'm now looking for a new one.

I've used Pi music player for years. I think it's great. I select the albums for my morning walk and just let it play. You can set it to repeat or not. For example, I choose a particular piece for our weekly Tai Chi class of an hour. Since the piece is only 51 minutes, I set it on repeat, and it carries us through by automatically starting over. Great player! You can make lists to play over again; you can play individual songs in sequence, etc. Very versatile.

Ads are very unobtrusive and there are so many options for sorting/displaying your music. Seamless experience. The best but most niche feature of this app is the ability to attach images to the music files in a much better way than you can natively on windows. So useful for when a CD doesn't have images embedded in the tracks, or they get lost in a transfer.

Not perfect, but the best player I've found. I've got a Pixel 3 with Android v 9. The controls on the widget don't work. Just acts as a launcher that takes me into the app. Even if it did work, the widget is lacking. Wish it functioned like the Samsung player widget, which can be scaled to include the playlist within the widget. Lock screen controls are also hit or miss as far as whether they even show up. Lots of other small bugs and inconsistencies. If they were fixed it would be perfect.
