Description of VIZIO Mobile

Your TV. Your Way. VIZIO Mobile lets you search, browse, and launch entertainment directly to your TV, plus so much more!

With VIZIO Mobile, you can:
• Control your TV from the palm of your hand, without searching for the remote
• Search for your entertainment in seconds using your VIZIO Mobile keyboard or just your voice
• Launch shows, movies and more on your VIZIO TV directly from VIZIO Mobile
• Save money by quickly finding which apps stream your next movie or show for free

Your phone or tablet must be connected to the same wireless network as your VIZIO devices to use certain features of the mobile app. Select features of VIZIO Mobile require a free VIZIO Account.

VIZIO Crave Speakers cannot output audio from TVs/displays or be connected as an additional channel to an existing sound bar or sound system. Additional supported SmartCast or Chromecast-enabled audio products are required (not included) for Multi-Room feature. Streaming different songs to different speakers at the same time is not supported when using a single app running on a single mobile device. To stream a different song to different speakers at the same time, you’ll need to stream from a different app or a separate mobile device.

Unfortunately another update breaks the app once again. My E40-D0 TV is one that requires the app for full functionality. Now, I cannot use basic features like sleep timer or change settings on the TV because Vizio requires an app. However, every major update completely renders the app useless, thus - also rendering the TV nearly useless. It's very frustrating to have a TV that is reliant on a phone app, especially when the manufacturer cannot seem to keep it working. Let's hope a fix comes.

Remote will work when it wants to. Tv apps will work sometimes. Fairly good app. I just upgraded to another phone last year. I started using this app, and now it has me rebooting my phone when it becomes disconnected from my Smartcast TV. This is the rest of the reason I'm keeping it at 3 stars. I hope that this problem can be resolved or fixed.

This has been the best app I believe I have ever downloaded. I lose my remote more than I would care to say.... but I never lose my phone or my tablet and it works through Wi-Fi so i can be anywhere in the house and it still works .best thing since sliced bread. And I just read below that there's ads they're not bother some and I haven't seen the first one honestly I was a little surprised that it had ads

Set it up once. Worked for about 5 hours. The next day the TV won't show on the app as connected even though it's on and reacting to the prompts. A couple hours later the TV refuses to turn on all together (when using the original remote). Not sure if this app broke the TV or confused signals or what but it seems interesting that this TV only broke when I tried this app. Also the app itself was a chore to use. Every step took forever and worked poorly.

Agree with the other reviews. I would probably ditch my remote if the connection issues weren't so bad. I end up having to use the remote at least 50% of the time. The widget is even worse I can only use it to open the app. I will say outside of the connectivity the app has a lot of potential and I'd give it a solid 4.5, especially compared to other mobile remote apps out there.

Probably the worst I have used. Constant connection issues. Now the app will not even recognize ANY device. Uninstalled & reinstalled several times. To a point it would re-establish a pairing with my TV but now will not even do that. Meanwhile another third party remote app pairs just fine (but lacks other essential setting related features). How absurd that a TV requires the use of a mobile app for changing settings like network connection... and that app doesn't even work!!! Vizio sucks.

A) obviously this isn't possible but I wish the app would help me find my physical remote. B) There needs to be an option to turn off push notifications about shows and movies, I don't care about that stuff but the remote in the notification bar is a nice feature. Unfortunately turning notifications off because they're annoying also turns off the miniremote.

Great when it works. I'd give it 5 stars but it consistently has connection issues. The TV could be on a couple hours then when u go to change, it isn't connecting. I have to uninstall and reinstall. If for some reason I need to unplug the wifi for 10 seconds to reboot, then I need the original remote and go to settings before I could use this app again. Its connection issues are too frequent to give above a 2.5 star. Its 50/50.

Works fine after disconnecting power and reconnecting power to the TV and then a soft power reset (reboot in my case). The things missing - info button for TV show info and to get the bar that shows up every time power is turned on, to go away. Channel up and down for when watching television would be nice. FF/REW/SKIP FWD/SKIP BACK/PLAY/PAUSE for streaming. Just make it like a remote should be. Also, listen to the many reviews asking this app to work correctly and consistently.

I just got done reading all the reviews, thought it was going to be hopeless, but since my toddlers lost the remote, gave it a try, so far, 5 stars for sure. Soooo no connection issue here, I love that I can leave the app and it stays up in my notifications place and I can access volume controls and the power button even if I'm using, Google play, for example.

It works perfectly for my TV, the only issue is sometimes if my TV stays on but I close out of the app I can't recognize my TV and I have to turn it off and back on but other than that, if you lost your remote but want to watch TV 10/10 would recommend this app. It even allows you to save certain sites/apps to your favorites making it even easier to access!

No point in downloading this app if you're just using it for your soundbar. App had consistent connection issues with my vizio soundbar since I've had it, but I was always eventually able to connect to it. Now the app won't connect with the soundbar or even recognize it. The app doesn't even recognize the soundbar when I try to get it to "forget" the device. It's been this way for months now.

The recent UI update made it ugly and basically unusable for older models. EDIT: In response to VIZIO. I couldn't chat with any support as they were busy for over 3 hours in a row. And the main issue is the giant ad on the controller and the lack of the "old controller" UI design. My TV doesn't seem to recognize the current UI design or lags with it while the old UI (that looks like a real controller) worked fine but was removed recently.

I have to go to the settings in order to change anything, whether it is the bass, treble, or height channels. Otherwise, it won't adjust on the soundbar. I can't change the name of any of my soundbars as I keep getting "error" messages, and I can't hook any of them up to WIFI (this is not that big of a deal though.) I'll say this, having the remote is convenient, and it's the only reason I still have this app on my phone. Other than that, it's a very subpar experience.

Nice when it works. My Wi-Fi network is superior. Never drops a connection with anything in the house. Not even the TV! This app and the TV drop connection all the time. I set up the TV and it works during the first setup. After the first set up it never works again and I have to remove it and add it again every single time. What's the point of that?

I see the other reviews and feel like I got lucky. I haven't had any issues since I installed. Easy to use, was easy to pair. Reconnected without issue even when my tv updated. If I had to name a complaint, which is super minimal, it would be the delay when trying to open the app. Sometimes it varies between 10secs and 1.5min. but all good things are worth the wait, lol.

Great replacement for a traditional remote. The app just works and does its job well. I love that the inputs are labeled, so when switching inputs, you don't have to remember which one is the switch, Chromecast, etc, you can just select "Chromecast" from the inputs list. It makes it so much easier to find built in apps on the TV too, you can search them instead of having to scroll through all the options.

Super helpful when I can't find the remote. The reason for only 4 stars is if I leave the app and come back, it shows the TV as not found, and I have to close and restart the app for it to find it again, minor annoyance. Then this one is very rare as it had only happened a few times, but the volume control gets stuck going up, and I have to close the app fully to get it to stop. Other than that, it's a great app and is super helpful when the remote is lost or I want to be lazy, lol.
