Original post in 2021. After many updates over the last 2 years, still no change. Can no longer open email in landscape view which makes a lot of them unreadable. Please fix. 5 months later and I guess they really don't care. This seems like something easy to fix. Now Oct 2023 The issue has never been addressed. Bigger problems now, I get no news feeds at all. The only thing I can do is access my email but most are unreadable because of the no landscape issue.

Reaching out to customer support is pointless. That's obviously a glitch in the app that started after an update seeing as I had no issues before then. There's now no point in having this app since the only reason I downloaded it was to get notifications for my emails. Anybody else having this issue should consider just using Outlook. There are forums that explain how to connect the AOL / AIM emails to third party apps successfully. So far so good. I will be deleting this app now. Thanks anyway.

App Won't open. Update: It opens now, but something is Wrong with it because when trying to write an email, or anything an other pages or apps, it keeps scrolling the page down While you're trying to type, causing you to have to Keep scrolling back Up may to finish your email. So aggravating!! Please fix asap, as this has been going on for quite a while. If this can't be fixed, then I'll have No choice but to find another email app to use. Thank you.

Okay, but... can't turn the phone 90 degrees and have the display change with it. Some of the emails have writing so small that it needs to be enlarged, and when you do this in the portrait mode you have to scroll back and forth across the screen to see everything. I used to be able to view my screen in the landscape mode and see things enlarged but still have everything visible on the screen.

This latest update is not user friendly for me to view my email. 1. The Ads look similar to an email. The Ad used to have a box around the ad to distinguish the difference between email and Ad. I have repeatedly click on unwanted Ads. 2. I also don't have the option to set the display when I open the app. I miss the old view where I could see my old mail and folders.

If I was able to assign this new app a -(star) I certainly would have done so! I've been a customer of AOL for some 30 years and this so called upgrade is a disaster! Folders have been lost and contacts haven't migrated over into the new system. The user has to figure out how to work around missing functions on top of that. And to add insult to injury, there was no forewarning of the changes. Users received an email shortly after midnight, the day of the rollout. This mess is what we awoke to.

I find it INCREDIBLY frustrating that you can't view emails from oldest to newest in any mobile way. The AOL Mail app won't allow you to change it, going on a browser on your phone won't allow you to change it, and a third party mail app won't transfer your folders over. So you have to scroll until you get to the oldest email and then start there. And Lord don't leave the app or it will refresh and you'll have to scroll all the way down again. It's a simple function to add to the app.

The new app that started on January 1, 2023 does NOT work. It still freezes your whole phone as of February 1, with a spinning spiral, giving the user the option of closing the app or restarting phone. This often occurs during email composition, & the email is either lost or partially retrievable. This is a chronic issue. The developer needs to revert to the old app until it can work out problems with new app. Otherwise, AOL users will drop off the AOL platform. I'm very upset.

Ever since the latest update, my folders do not all show up. Some have moved under saved. I click to open an email and it opens the wrong one. Some many things are different it's frustrating. I delete on my phone, but then the emails are still there when I get on my desktop computer. Why?? I have had AOL for years, and maybe it's time to change. Still having problems. 7/27/21. Folders still not showing. Click to.ooen an email and it opens the one two before it. Just open the correct one.

The app has gotten worse since I wrote this last year. Difficulty deleting, it's been freezing up, not updating. I can use the phone email app with better results. No problem with any other app on my phone. I've had this app quite a long time and tried to be patient with some bugs. For the last week or so, when I delete emails- they come right back into my inbox and won't delete. To get rid of them I have to sign onto a computer and delete from aol instead of the aol app.

this app used to work well for my AOL Verizon email. Currently it will download the headers for my email, but when I click to read, all I get is a spinning loading image. Can't read any emails. I don't know what changed, just all of a sudden a few days ago this started. Tried restarting phone twice with no result. then tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and for now it is working again. Why do I have to jump through these hoops to read my email?

Major issues over the past few weeks. First, I was not able to actually read my emails thru the app. They simply would not load after clicking on an email. The circle on the email page just continued to spin. I had to open the web aol to read my emails though the app would notify me of a new email. And then twice the notifications on the AOL app just stopped working for days at a time. I have to keep periodically checking the app to see missed emails. I have installed and uninstalled at least 4 times in a month and cleared the cache and forced stop. I've had aol for over 25 years but the fact that the app continues to mess up tells me it may be time to walk away. I made sure all my settings on my Android phone are correct for notifications. It is the app that's not working and it's frustrating.

AOL decided to revise their app, NOT my choice. It just happened, no choice involved. It's very poor at best. When you open the app, it goes to AOL news, not your email. Ads are there all the time. Not easy to delete a bunch of emails how it was first revised, but you can modify and get rid of the stupid icons for each email. Lost more than half my folders. Thanks for nothing AOL. Another reason for me to move on. Don't bother.

Could not open emails until I turned off the account and turned it back on. I did not have to uninstall and reinstall. works fine now. The new and improved is awful!!! Deleted emails appear and disappear at random. Even recent ones often do not show. When I have deleted emails from new mail, it sometimes says no emails found in my new mail. The first time it happened, I almost had a panic attack. I have to close the app and reopen and then they reappear. I am seriously thinking of switching.

The reply function is unusable. On pressing the reply button, the keyboard appears, and the promptly dissappears. The cursor goes to the bottom of the original email. Then, after scrolling up to the top of the original email and tapping on the blue line, the keyboard reappears. After starting the message. The text disappears, and you can't see what you've typed. I don't see anywhere in setting to change that. I have a Samsung S22

Not as user friendly as the last version. I have folders in my inbox to help keep certain emails more organized and with this newer version they don't always show up when I want to move emails. I have to search for the folder. Inbox is too busy with the image circles for the sender identification. Also, I hate the ads included in the inbox. It is always the first thing listed and I click on it thinking it is an email and I get redirect to an advertisement.

This updated version of the app is not great. Everytime I click on a specific email to open, it opens a different email and marks the one I intended to open as read. I have to keep closing and opening the app. It is so frustrating!! It also took me a while to figure out how to switch between folders. It was not intuitive at all. You should have never changed the old app. It worked just fine!

The old version was more intuitive and easier to use. This version won't allow me to go directly to my email. It opens to news and adds page first. Quite annoying. Also for some reason, I am not receiving any notifications for new email from this app even though all notifications and settings are turned on. Wish I could go back to the old version. My switch everything to my Gmail account as my primary email account.
