It's trying really hard to be as good as Google Docs. It deserves points for trying. Selecting text reliably and precisely is a feature they should prioritize. Going back to change a word is difficult because it "helpfully" tries to jump to the end of the word or autocorrect. This problem is magnified when fighting with the Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard. Finally, it frequently loses your position in the document jumping around 1000+ words at a time and losing most recent position when resuming.

The bugs when trying to "write" (app calls it "drawing"?! so that took a while to figure out), "draw" then switch to page for spanning and zooming then switching back to "draw", and especially when trying to do all that in horizontal screen view (you'd think this would be easier, but nope) are REALLY annoying. It took me 45 mins to do a 5 min job. I also decided it was quicker to just deal with vertical screen view. However, thank goodness you can use black ink! Polaris only has RED available...

I really want to love this app. It has a lot of great features. Unfortunately, it's very frustrating to use for long periods. The biggest problem is with the scroll function. I can see using the scroll bar when you're in the windows view, but in mobile view, the wrong motion while scrolling normally activates it, causing your view to jump drastically throughout the document, losing your place each time. Same with highlighting. The user should be able to disable the scroll bar feature.

Word is a convenient mobile app. It far surpasses Google Docs, but is not a full featured app. It's formatting features don't compare to the desktop version, but will open and display documents correctly that were formatted on a desktop. You will not be editing with the speed you can on the desktop, but it allows you to create and layout your documents on the go.

I like the voice portion. It makes it easy for dissertation but it would be nice if it were able to capture punctuation. One area of improvement would be word comprehension for talked to text. Some of the words translate to something that wasn't even said. when your in a hurry, this can be a bit of a struggle. Great product overall!

Generally it is easy enough to use, but I am getting so tired of the problems it causes me. It keeps changing my formatting and the words I am trying to type, at times adding things completely different than I am telling it to. It will not let me edit a document without first selecting the edit option, which is time wasting and annoying. But it is nice when I'm typing a long document that it will ask if I want to start where I left off and jump me to that point, which doesn't work all the time.

I wrote a whole introduction to an essay I needed for school but had to get off for two minutes. When I came back I went to open the file back up the and system had lost it completely. How? I have no freaking idea but it was a real set back. I've used this app before to back up other files. Never have written anything in it until now. Just stick to PC. The app is unreliable.

This app most of the time meets my everyday needs and more. There has been a few occasions where I've been in the middle of writing something. When I go back over to fix mistakes I have problems with the app glitching. It freezes on me. I am able to save my work back out and go back into my work to finish. I hope with time Microsoft can fix this. Other then that, I love Microsoft Word.

Its great to have and has most of the most commonly used functions in the full pc program. My phone screen is small not the fault of so its difficult to move things around and sometimes hard to find the feature i.e., spell check, track changes, etc. Its almost always there just to easy to find. The fact that it is as powerful makes it great to have in emergencies, making document changes on the fly without the need of a pc.

Seriously horrible. Tried using this on my tablet so I could work on word documents. Not only would it not allow me to edit from Google Drive, but it also wouldn't SAVE to Google Drive. And when I did save it to the device, it would do the same thing, unable to let me edit. Not only that, but previous work documents would show up in my recent list with NO WAY to either delete or remove them. Even trying to open the most recent item would result in either not opening or again, being unable to edit. I did the one thing I said I wouldn't do and switched to using Google Docs on my tablet. Surprise, surprise, not only did it work from the moment I opened my document, but it also managed to what Word wouldn't - sync my document so I could go back and work on it on my computer. Stop making app versions of your stuff, Microsoft. You're horrible at it and have no idea what you're doing.

I was highly interested in trying this MS Word app so I could work across laptop and phone platforms. But the phone app is very clunky and awkward to use. The menus are not arranged in a familiar way for those who know the computer software well, so you must relearn them here. And some formatting options appear to apply themselves at random without me telling them too, which is doubly frustrating: I didn't want it to happen, and I have to go to the trouble 2 figure out the correct menu 2 fix it.

I benefit from the app, but there is one feature that bothers me to no end. When I'm scrolling a long document by swiping a finger up way way too often my finger ends up triggering the pop-up scroll bar that allows you to move more quickly to another page, so I go from peacefully scrolling from page 71 to 72 to accidently going to page 12. It'd be nice if the scroll bar weren't activated so easily or if I could deactivate it. Thanks for the app, though.

I having a hard time deleting a file I Created! I cant make any modifications so I wanted to delete it and write it over. However even searching for it on my laptop it doesn't show the file but on my phone it has the file! This is disappointing. Are we now in the business of removing permissions from content creators. How the heavens if a person creates a file, it can no longer be modified or deleted. I work in IT, it's not on end user and if so I put in the work for the security changes no luck.

It had potential. Microsoft Word had a great interface, but I had problems with the app itself. The process of being able to edit without internet should have been implemented. Requires a sign in to wifi for editing documents, not interested. I am looking for an app that is offline based. Microsoft, I think your app is superior. I respect your work making a free application, but I still think it still needs work.

I like the convenience of the app. However, for me it is a struggle to transition from the PC format to the app format. The app format is like looking at a blank slate with no tool bar/tabs for font sizes, styles, paragraph set-ups, spaces, etc. at the top of the screen. I like being able to review my saved word docs, but they appear the spaces to be compress. I feel the more I use the app, I will be able to use and navigate without too much trouble.

You need to install an "UNDO" Button so when (for example) you use the '=' sign underneath a heading to separate it from the rest, and WORD auto-fills the equal sign all the way across the page, you can "undo" it if you don't want the auto-filled resulting line break. An UNDO Button would make things go a lot quicker if you need to change a mistake made while creating a doc. Also, what about directional ARROW Buttons for easier negotiation. The right hand slider only gets you from one page to the next. But getting to an exact line of text in the middle of the page can be difficult; often the page jumps back to the top or even the beginning of the doc while using my finger to navigate to a specific line. Directional buttons would make navigating so much easier to zero in on a wrong letter in a word or a line of text in the middle of a page.

It's really good, but the functioning of it isn't and is finicky. I'm probably just not used to it still but it freaks out when you try to edit a new word doc while zoomed in. it's so difficult to get anything done in, the menu bars cove up 25% of the screen and expand even more, then the keyboard randomly pops up at times when you click stuff and is extremely annoying. it's made me mess up my documents many times and had to fix.

So far only 2 problems I have with this app. One is that often the "autocorrect" creates amalgamations of words whether i was trying to type them or not, doing so even when I'm trying to correct the amalgamations it "autocorrects" new ones. The other is I've noticed that the shared "viewable/editable" versions tend to be missing the images embedded into the document. Makes it hard to visualize things that haven't been described without the images.
