I love Polar Steps. Love it. It even motivates me to take pictures, and keeping the journal as a souvenir is amazing ❤️ The only thing I find uncomfortable for use is that trip dates cannot overlap. And sometimes I take short trips inside the big trip, so I'm trying to find a workaround for that. Putting on some other dates and change them back later... But anyway, thank you so much for this! I've been backpacking since 2012 and this is the only app I carry with me. Please leave it free!

Easy to use app! The only thing is is that if it has trouble loading a video it will forever send you notifications that the video can't be uploaded due to a patchy connection (even when the connection is good). But it doesn't tell you which video it is so I can't delete it either. I'd also like it if you can select per trip which of your followers can see the trip. Thanks!

I really like this App! The only issue is that it's a data hog and doesn't have the capability of using reduced resolution photos and videos. I understand the need to load ful res photos so that after a trip is completed, a PolarSteps photo book with high resolution paper renditions can be made. However, VIDEOS can't be printed, so why not use compression techniques like Whatsapp does to reduce the high data usage. People who use this app are traveling (duh) and don't always have good data plans

Easy to use within its constraints. Does not accomodate video. Rearranges photos in original time-sequence, so user cannot "create-a-story", ecxept first we saw this then we saw that and next this other thing. But real easy to pick photos from your smart-phone and write up a narrative. Good map tracks the trip.

Great app for keeping friends and family "in the loop" while traveling. One post and everyone following you is up to date. Easy interface, doesn't kill your battery, works when on Wi-Fi only (I'm not paying for that international cellular plan). The option to get a printed book after your trip is a really nice keepsake opportunity. But the best momento for me is the updated map pin my homepage with an ever growing number of dots on the map (for each location visited).

This has been such a fun app to use on our cross country road trip! It tracks our location and we can easily go back to where we were at a given time and add pictures and captions about what we were doing. Then we can link it to Facebook or send our progress via messenger to family and friends. When we return we can order a book of our pictures and narratives so we have a memory book of our vacation. I am very pleased with this app!

This is a great app for sharing travel experiences and pictures with friends and family. It is much easier to create and maintain, and more real time, than a travel blog. The gps tracking adds a map dimension that is easy and informative. I recommend it to many friends and fellow travelers...and they all love it. I had a book printed for one trip. It came in a hardcover book printed on high quality paper. Well worth the money. Also like that I don't get a lot of junk mail from the producers.

Entering past travel steps is very buggy as steps appear out of sequence. If you spend a long time in one city, the "travel lines" make no sense at all as the time in between steps entered is used as your "travel time". The automatic classification of "flight" lines works maybe half the time. This app may be good to create photo books, but I found pretty much useless as a travel blog. Uninstalling the app and looking for something else.

Customer service hung in there and finally figured out the bug with not being able to move a point. The app still has an issue locking up when not in airplane mode, but internet access isn't available. It makes using the app difficult in the backcountry, but it's still an amazing app.

I like the concept this app, but I don't like the fact that I can't control what pictures show up on the story board snapshot. It doesn't matter how I load them, the app selects what picture to display. Also it needs to include various travel modes other than plane. I often travel by train while un Europe, ferry when going to the Cape and automobile throughout the US.

Great app, really liking it for documenting my journey works flawlessly. The one feature I would really like to see added in the future is built in translation from other languages. Right now I have to go to a web browser and use Google translate to read my friends posts. Edit: I've tried the inapp translate feature it doesn't work properly yet. Translated text is nonsense

I love this app! I wanted to elaborate because I don't think the above did the app justice for how much I enjoyed it. On social media my travel stories became products and I didnt like feeding into the envy pandemic of social media. Using this tool enabled me to share my experiences with my loved ones in a positive way. It is so fun and easy to upload photos, videos and stories with an awesome map tracking your trip. It tracked me even in Antarctica!!! I couldn't believe that it worked so well

I love Polarsteps! It's a great way to keep track of where I've gone and show my friends and family. It's also a good way for my mom to know where exactly I am in the world as I travel solo. The battery drain is minimal, adding pictures is easy, and adding steps after the fact if there isn't a pin exactly where you want one is simple and smooth. Highly recommend!

Disappointed. Got home and found out that I have to upload each pic for each location. I thought this would happen automatically. Turned out to be nothing more than a Google Maps timeline. I said exactly what I meant, the app did not upload pics that coincide with each stop. It just gave me a timeline with my stops but no pics for the stops unless I uploaded them manually.

I used this to journal my cross country road trip and update family and friends in a cool way. They were able to follow along in real time (without draining my phone battery too much, it's also an option you can turn off) and now I have a cool collection of photos connected to the locations I took them on a visually appealing map with my whole journey!

This app is fantastic I love being able to look back at all my adventures. I only wish I had it earlier. One feature I hope they add is the ability for you to upload a large group of photos, and it generates the steps from the geo locations of the photos. This is so I could add past trips from when I didn't have polar steps.

As a truck driver I'd love it if app used the red dots for places that I stopped for more than fifteen minutes so. I also often go back on same roads and maybe a different color to show one has traversed a certain road a second time would be a good addition. With my time constraints the automatic red dot for stops would be awesome even if I have to enter the cities initially. I do however still really like the app. It works great!

This is a really lovely travel *journal* - emphasis bc it really should have "Travel Journal" as the main descriptor rather than "Travel Planner." That seems more of the intended purpose but it's not what I expected when I saw "travel planner." I'm keeping the app to document my trip but as far as I can tell you can't even add a specific address as a destination, just a town. That's certainly not a planner. If the option is there it's not intuitive bc I spent 15 minutes looking.
