I could not get anywhere without this map. I am a gig driver and use this extensively daily. However the last update has started causing me a big deal of trouble. It used to show my route in blue and I would follow that instead of having it tell me turn by turn. I listen to podcasts and can't stand the interruptions. But now it no longer shows this instead where my turn is will be a barely visible white arrow. Please fix this... 🙏

I've owned a 2023 Honda HR-V for almost a year, and have never been able to get Day/Night mode to work in Google Maps. It works with Android Auto itself, just not in Maps. I've even tried developer settings (let car decide/let phone decide) in AA, and that doesn't help. Maps always stays in Day mode. On my last two cars, this worked fine, always switching to Night mode when my phone did. Also, voice search still always thinks I'm in Virginia. The link provided by Google didn't help.

New update causes Maps to always start in satellite view, using up alot of my data. It doesn't matter if you change it to the default view, because everytime you start Maps now, it starts in satellite view. Uninstalling this app and side loading an earlier version of maps is the only fix. Also have to disable auto update from the play store for the Maps app.

What has happened to voice navigation? This was very easy to use and safe to use with voice navigation especially traveling alone. This new picture going from start point to end point of each road is difficult to read, check surroundings, know next move, all while driving safely, and staying on correct route. It stinks!

I've been a fan and use of Google maps for some time, granted it has gotten better slowly over time. For the most part this app pretty much always gets me to where I'm going and usually knows the places I'm trying to get directions to. The user interface is not my favorite though I do wish it were easier to download and or save maps for when one is offline or when ya lose your bars and there fore have no Internet access, so that ya don't end up stuck or lost before getting to your destination

I have used Google maps for years. The only suggestion I can make is to be able to use maps while driving without setting a destination. Maybe I'm not finding a setting, or it is hidden, but it would be useful as an actual driving map rather than always needing a destination. Also to integrate that feature into Android Auto, though I don't use that as often.

I like google maps more than the other gps apps, but you have got to fix the issue of it either showing the wrong speed or taking you to the wrong exit. Occasionally, it tells you to turn right or left when it shows you need to go the other way. An example of the speed issue I see, the speed limit is 30 on 2 roads I know and it shows 60 for the speed limit on google maps. Kind of funny, but not good in unfamiliar areas with little to no signs.

Constantly takes me in the wrong direction, in circles or the LONGEST most unnecessary route possible. It has started "searching for gps" recently and doesnt navigate at all! Time to search for a better GPS app in my S8. Update: I shouldn't have to read an article, you all should research and fix the bugs or whatever it is causing the issues. I've tested in my own city just to see if it'll take me directly to the location or around the world...and yes, 20 min route that should be 13. 👎🏾

Used to be a 5 star app, but now that they implemented the faster route popup that automatically switches your route unless you hit the keep current route button, I cant say I love it anymore. That feature which currently can't be turned off, makes motorcycle trips quite the bear to deal with. Super unsafe especially while on a bike. I plan my trips according to specific roads that I want to take, whether it be the turns on the road, or sights to see, so I DON'T want to change from THAT route.

Still can't figure out how to measure a distance between the two points on the map. Google Earth has a tool to do that. Also measuring the time between the two transit stops to see how long it takes to get there on the public transit path. Satellite view of the map with user labels placed all around makes it a very useful planning for travel.

Google is rolling out a new color palette for some users, and while it hasn't hit my phone yet it has affected the experience on my desktop extremely negatively. The new color palette is ugly and has serious legibility problems. I cannot imagine a situation where this becomes better on my phone if the new color palette is integrated there. Also, JFC the tracking is awful. Constantly prying into every location you visit. I turn it off when I need to go anywhere actually important.

Lately, every time I try to use Google maps, the direction they give makes it more difficult and longer to get somewhere. Not to mention when I put no toll ways, it keeps changing it mid drive and telling me to go on the toll way and when I change it to no toll again it tell me it is faster to do a toll way. I don't use toll ways enough to get a toll tag. I only use it once a while to visit my grandma. Not to mention last-minute directions for turns.

Three times in one 2 1/2 hour trip Google Maps failed. Twice in areas that may have weaker signals for the Android phone, however no other app was affected (ie: Spotify). Another time in same trip I was driving on an interstate in a populated area and it suddenly assumed I was in a completely different local road. Thankfully I knew where I actually was because I couldn't just stop to restart my phone while driving at 65 mph.

It's my go-to. I wouldn't use anything else out. Apple who? I've been using it from day one long before android auto (the Tom Tom years... says enough). It's constantly upgrading and now with them implementing AI the sky is the limit. (Let's just hope that it's not sky net). I have had some temporary glitches after a couple updates but thru are usually resolved very quickly. Thank you google for helping us explore the this big blue rock we are chilling on! -Dr. Martell II

Constantly Annoying. I switched from an iphone to the famous pixel, and it instantly got worse. Directions are always behind by 3 seconds, keeps switching me to toll roads after I requested no tolls option. Something that can be instant instead takes 3 extra clicks for no reason. Even this same app works so much better on iPhone. Can't wait to switch back.

If I am on navigation and I swipe home (s23 ultra) I get a second or more of lag every single time. And it's has to like reset my home screen. I've cleared all data and everything in the app, I've turned off picture in picture to see if that was it and it still did it. It is so frustrating. this is the only app that does this. Seems to only be a problem when actively navigating. (reset data and it worked well for about 30 seconds then went back to its old ways.). Will be using something for now.

When driving at night all the roads are a light green to show the traffic. The navigation route choosen is a slightly darker green in the night mode you can hardly tell where you need to go especially in the city where there's a maze of streets and turns. Since all roads are a similar green it is very confusing. My suggestion would be to make the chosen navigation route a very a very colorful blue so that it's a clear path to where you need to go and turn especially at night in dark mode.

Google is really dropping the ball with their products. This year especially the accuracy and quality of most of their apps has gone extremely downhill and maps I've noticed it the most. Many destinations or routes are just wrong and it's to locations that it had no issues with previously. I guess when your company gets to a certain size you just stop caring about quality.
