Description of MEGA

MEGA provides user-controlled encrypted cloud storage that’s accessed with web browsers and dedicated apps for mobile devices. Unlike other cloud storage providers, your data is encrypted and decrypted by your client devices only and never by us.

Upload files from your smartphone or tablet, then search, download, stream, view, share, rename or delete them from any device, anywhere. Share folders with your contacts and see their updates in real time.

MEGA’s strong and secure end-to-end encryption means we cannot access or reset your password. You MUST remember the password and make sure to back up your account Recovery Key. Losing your password and the account Recovery Key will result in lost access to your files.

Use the included MEGA Secure Chat for end-to-end-encrypted communications, including video and audio calls, with total privacy. Chat history synchronises automatically across multiple devices and you can also easily add files to, and from the MEGA Cloud drive.

MEGA offers a generous 20 GB free storage for all registered users. You can get even more storage in 5 GB increments through our MEGA achievements program.

Great service, bad app. I've used mega for years and will continue to do so but the android app crashes everytime I upload more than about 200 items at once. I use mega to upload photos from my phone to free up space but everytime I try to upload a whole folder (over 200 images) the app crashes out and I have to open it again for the transfer to continue. Revvl 6 pro Android 12. This issue isn't device specific as it was the same for my OnePlus device as well.

Was good up until about 3 days ago. I haven't had many problems in the past, but as of three days ago. When I try downloading from my laptop, the downloads transfer at such a low speed. A video that would normally take only 3 minutes, now takes 1 hour, that is, if it doesn't fail. I had a video downloading earlier that took 45 minutes just to get to 54%, only to fail and start over from 0% again. How nice. Please fix this. NOW, 99%, 1.5 hours. FAILED. To hell with this garbage app.

This app is great, but there are issues! For one a couple of my friends I've recommended this to and it didn't give me extra space! Two I've put my phone number on there and for some reason it said I have a certain amount of time before the bonus expires! And it doesn't support photos with high resolution, but it supports 60FPS videos, so that is a plus! Can you respond please?

I upload a lot of videos to mega so I can share them with people and save space on my phone/computer. I don't know what's happened with past updates, but almost 80% of the videos I've uploaded have been corrupted! They're all "Not Found". I'm so upset about this. I may have to just start using a USB drive and cancel my subscription tbh. I'm afraid of this happening again

It's okay. A little too in your face about using its fringe features, and that gets old. Has a hidden limit on total amount of data transfered per day. Also, logs your data more than they act like; as evidenced by the files in ./storage/emulated/0/Android/data/mega.privacy.android.app/files/MEGA Logs/ That being said, the cloud storage is pretty sick, the download speeds are nothing to scoff at, and it's used by enough third-party app sources that it's worth keeping around

Great storage app!!! One thing that needs to be fixed. PLEASE PLEASE, fix the offline system! Every time I try to open a file in the offline folder, it crashes. Please fix it! Also, please add a slideshow feature! This is greatly needed for personal use for others!! Other than that, great app!

Mega is an awesome service, the app is good but it really needs support for multiple accounts. The ability to be logged into to multiple accounts and easily switch between them (like you can with Google apps) is important because some of us work and have school, and other things and would have separate accounts for each of those things.. so multiple account support would be very useful to people who do this. Adding this, password protected folders and a night mode would make this app perfect.

You don't need this. I downloaded it because I thought it could store compressed .apk files so I could then launch them and only have the expanded version on my phone. It would have saved a lot of phone memory. But it wouldn't let me open them. Also, it started copying my photos EVEN THOUGH I TOLD IT NOT TO!! I only see this app useful if you have a lot of pics and you WANT to store them on a sus site. But I suggest just using Cloud for storage.

Unfortunately since the most recent update, for some reason, I am no longer able to download files to my phone's SD card. As far as I can tell, the files download under my SD card's Android/data/mega.privacy.android.app/cache folder and then instantly delete themselves. I have changed the storage location in the app settings several times, all with the same result. Before this problem, this was a 5-Star app...

The best clod storage app! Use this yo upload music files since it doesn't Compress it like google drive! My only problem is that it deletes everything if you don't log into it after a certain period of time. So if you using this to archive stuff for other people to download for years and years to come, you better log in once every few months. If you don't want to do that, then try something else like dropbox

Mega itself is an excellent and great cloud. It is reliable and fast. The problem with the app itself is that it is stuck in my notification bar after I downloaded anything. It doesn't go away with swiping or clearing all notifications. I have to go to the app information and force close it to get rid of the "download complete" every time.

THANK YOU for bringing back the loop video feature! This is my absolute favorite cloud storage service! 5⭐ s!! BUT another feature that would make it better, is the ability to add custom "picture descriptions" for each image & video file —— ORIGINAL review (5/13/22): The built-in video player is fantastic but it's lacking the ability to loop the video that's playing. This feature used to be here but now it's gone, please add it back 🙏

Wonderful App! I have and continue to recommend to many peole I know. But, I have an issue with one minor glitch. When I go to upload photos/files, I can easily view all my folders. However, if I just want to open the app and locate a file within a folder, not all my folders are visible. If this minor bug could be fixed, that would be awesome!

I've had Mega for a few months. It's pretty easy to upload files, but don't ever plan on using them again. I can view the files in Mega, but I cannot access them to attach or edit, or anything else. It makes the storage pointless. I could not get the app on my PC, once again limiting any functionality. I contacted support and over a week has passed without any response. This was a terrible waste of my time and now I can't use the files I uploaded to this cloud, which is unacceptable.

Great for storing files, but when I go to upload/download files the app just crashes and stops everything. It makes my phone run slower than molasses, and sometimes it'll just not respond in the background and mess up whatever I'm working on. Not sure if this is just an issue with my phone or the app itself. Also the notification shows the wrong amount of files being transferred and just stays in the notification bar and i have to force stop the app or turn off notifs to clear it.

This app is total garbage. The service itself is great, but this app crashes like crazy and doesn't save ongoing downloads, so I have to re-add files to the download queue every time it crashes. It also doesn't have a dark mode. Don't bother paying for a subscription. Edit: Just crashed for the fourth time in half an hour. This app is utter garbage.

I like my Mega cloud account, and it's great having access to it through a native Android app. I can download files from the cloud to my phone as well as upload them. The one thing that needs work is the camera uploads feature; as soon as I turned this on, the app froze multiple times. I had to uninstall/reinstall the app, and leave camera uploads off.

Only installed this for the "achievement" for more transfer allowance. On first run unchecked the option so none of my pictures would be uploaded. The second it's on I see pictures being uploaded. I went into settings, turned it off again, moved the pictures into the trash and emptied it. Next time I ran the app IT STARTED AGAIN! Oh and that "achievement" allegedly takes three days to activate. There is NO reason why they can't do it faster except to get more time to steal your data. 0☆!!!!!!
