Description of HP Print Service Plugin

The HP Print Service Plugin is the only print driver that you'll need to easily print documents, emails and pictures from print-supported applications to a variety of HP Printers, including HP OfficeJet, HP LaserJet, HP DesignJet, HP Photosmart, HP DeskJet and HP Envy.

You can discover and print to HP printers that are:
• Connected to the same network as your mobile device
• Broadcasting a Wi-Fi Direct network
• Connected to the mobile device via a USB On-the-Go cable

Just select Print or Share to PSP when you need to print. Just tap the menu button to reveal the print option. Location of menu button may vary depending on your model of Android™ device.

The HP Print Service Plugin simplifies printing on your Android™ Lollipop™ (v5.0) and newer devices. If you use Android 6 (Marshmallow) or earlier, you might need to enable the HP Print Service Plugin in your device's settings

Does what it's supposed to, simple and straightforward. It's great to be able to print directly from my phone to my networked printer from wherever I am. Update 10/20/23: No change in my rating based on three years of usage, still just a great little app.

I have printed many documents, photographs and pdf files from many different locations around the world using this app. It took a little time sort out the process for the first time but with the on line help and the chat help that was soon resolved. Now printing is straight forward. Note though, that the app gives an error message when you first send to print. This is because it is waiting for the printer to wake up from standby. You just need to send to print once again to print the document.

I just don't get the complaints... just keep it simple. I downloaded the plugin, opened an image in my gallery, shared to the JP Print Service plug-in and in under 30 seconds from selecting download I had a great print of my photo. Could not be simpler. So far I am very happy - can print photos, documents itc directly from my phone if needed.

Worked well with my old phone's Hotspot as I don't have a WiFi connection, got a new phone (samsung) and now it won't tether to the new phone, so it's as good as useless! With my old phone (xaomi) it was a pretty simple setup but could sometimes be indecisive on whether it wanted to work or not! Other times it was super quick and simple, and now nothing!

Pretty good. Prints without a fuss with most or all of the options available in a document editor. It generally takes me two tries to get a job out because the first time I run a job it comes up unavailable. I have to go "kick" the printer to wake it up. Thanks for making a product that works, even with my phone Samsung S 23

Not a fan of the app. Theres not enough print setting options. For example, while printing a reader for my kids school i need to print 4 pages per page but theres no way to do that. Its a lot easier and more detailed doing it directly from my phone, but it directs me straight to the app. I find myself pulling out my computer just to avoid using the app if i need to do anything beyong printing something as is.

I bought an hp 2540, lost hours to set it up as it won't be detected in a wifi environment. After that, I had to download a second app named Hp Smart. Not only to add that it failed to print many times, first it supposedly recognized the ink as counterfeit, which is not as it is an officially sealed hp ink 301, and after that letting me declare that I'm not using fake ink, it just "print" empty blank pages. Retries many times by turning off, resetting. Won't buy again an hp print

Printer is not printing. Will print alignment page, quick start guide etc. But when printing actual document, it sounds like it is printing but only blank pages come out even though you can hear the document sounds of the cartridges going back and forth. Plenty of ink otherwise the internal docs would not print and they are fine

every time i ask to print anything, the first msg I get is that the printer is NOT available!!! then, if i tap on the printer page, a printer icon comes up, i click on that, and viola' it prints!! im unsure why this happens, and for a while i was Unable to get anything to print, but now, despite the extra step, and ignoring that the "printer is unavailable", its working!! Update; 10-01-22 The remote printing has been working great once I figured it! I appreciate being away from the printer and!

Absolutely nerve wrecking services. There's absolutely no way you can contact anyone of you have an issue with something. The "contact us" menu is there but when you press it, you have no real option to get in touch with an operator or get an actual email address. You get a phone number and calling hours. And they have a lot of issues with their services and overall functionality

Very hit and miss. You have to make sure the printer is connected to the same Internet as your phone/ laptop before it will connect. This took me a while to figure out as the printer is usually disconnected when I need to print. Changed my phone connection to the same as the printer and bingo... It's very time-consuming, though.

Definitely user friendly and they have a nice guide/tutorial to teach, just takes about 2-3 minutes to connect printer via home wifi with each other after printer has been turned off and turned back on. Not very helpful when there are multiple things to print fast or even normal paced. But still get 5 stars because after the 3 minute default delay it works sooooo smoothly and easily for me!!

Overall, it works as it should, and I'm satisfied with it when it does. But, 1.) When you launch a print job, it always reads "Printer not available" at first. When loading the print job, it should just say "loading print job" shouldn't it? I think that'd be much better. And, 2.) Occasionally, it just gives you that "Printer not available" message, and won't start printing until you manually select your printer from the list, even though it's already selected, but the "HP" symbol is grayed out.

Very temperamental. Gives message that printer isn't available right now 100% of the time, even if signed in, synced to device, etc. Best luck printing is to hit retry. Impossible to get a person for customer service and the web assistant doesn't understand the question/problem - it just suggests steps already done. Works best with phone instead of Chrome book. Monitors ink levels well. There is a monthly subscription for ink.

Incredibly limited features, with a frustrating disconnect between the information the printer has about its own paper tray and the options then given in the app for printing. I feel like it used to be a lot easier to use, but still didn't really have great customisation.

Easy to use. No worries if you want something printed. I would recommend this app. I still enjoying using this app. It works forme and my family all of the time! I haven't had any issues printing anything that needs to be printed. Still a great app. You need to have this app! This app never disappoints! It prints each and everytime. I have not had any issues when it comes to printing.

I had a slow start, but as performance improves and my comfort with the app increases, I'm really liking this app. I miss the instant printing of any type file, but I've gotten really good at converting files to PDF. Distant printing (like from Drive) is still iffy, so I try to move everything to the local devices before I print.

Works fine; however, I run into lots of issues trying to track down information related to my subscription and during setup while trying to connect my printer to the system. Seems, once you tie the printer to one account you must release it before it can be connected to another. A printer reset did the trick. I also had to un/reinstall the desktop app when it had a hard time reconnecting to my printer on the network. Resetting is a theme. But it's not the obvious first step.
