Description of Power Apps

Get Power Apps to conveniently access your work or school apps no matter where you are: at home, on the road, in the field, off-campus, at the airport, or at the beach – anywhere life takes you.

WHAT’S INSIDE

The Power Apps app is the front door to the apps at your work or school. Which apps can you use? It depends on what’s been created for you. Here are some examples you might see, or ones you can make yourself using the Power Apps website:

• Campus app: Map your campus with icons for landmarks and facility details.
• Event registration app: Record attendees as they arrive using barcodes or QR codes.
• Expenses app: Let employees submit their expenses and upload photos of receipts.
• Health clinic app: Let patients check in to appointments with just a few taps.
• NFC reader app: Scan NFC tags on ID cards, equipment, packages, etc.
• Performance app: Visualize data and get insights with interactive dashboards.
• Sales app: See opportunities and leads, review comments, and approve for your P&L.
• Space planning app: Take 3D measurements and manipulate objects in mixed reality.
• Timesheet app: Collect, consolidate, and analyze shift data from employees.

This is just a handful of examples; the possibilities are endless. Build and share low-code apps for your work or school at the Power Apps website.

TIPS

• Swipe right to make an app a favorite, swipe left to add a shortcut to the home screen.
• As an admin, mark an app as Featured, so that it stays pinned to the top of the apps list.
• Some apps can work offline, and Power Apps will sync your data when you reconnect.

Powerapps is amazing. Learning curve is very high...at least for me it has been and I am novice skill level, always have to learn new processes, lightning fast updates. It feels good to build your own business app your own way. Microsoft has really come out with some next level office applications. Tons of free resources to learn on the web if you put in the time. Also comes with some very usefull oob templates to use.

Keeps telling me that I have no internet when my network is perfectly fine, opens up my apps with a blank screen, and then even tells me that the app is not opening correctly even though I have republished it several times It works on desktop but Power Apps for mobile is terrible

VERY buggy on Android. Won't show you favorites consistently, doesn't render all controls correctly if aspect ratio isn't locked, it takes a solid 5 seconds to open the camera. Yet despite that, the apps we create on this can be made SO quickly and save our organization a lot of time. But seriously fix the bugs!

Definitely android being treated as a second class app compared to the fruity company. New issue is when you take a pic in a form to save it , the app finally now optimises the pic for upload , but then it always uses the first one that it e.g. resized0.jpg. So I took a photo directly to attach to a claim, but when I review it after it has been submitted, it's showing me the optimised pic from last week. What did Microsoft break now??

The keyboard is cutting off the view when we reach the bottom of the app. The form is not scrolling up and hiding behind the keyboard so that we cannot see what we are typing. This is so demotivating and annoying. Please fix it if you can or this tool is waste in Android. I have no such issue in iOS , it's working fine. I am just wondering did your devolepers tested the app before releasing with such fundamental issues not fixed.

Been waiting for Microsoft to create something like PowerApps for over a decade...and they've OVER-DELIVERED :-) BUT (and with PowerApps there's all-too-often a "but")... WHY are there still SO MANY QUIRKS? - you CAN upload images to SharePoint.. BUT later on you CAN'T read them back into the phone; - you CAN use the Image.link to view an image in a BROWSER PowerApps session, but this (elegant) technique DOESN'T WORK in a POWERAPPS CLIENT (phone) session?? - FIX THIS IMPORTANT STUFF NOW !!!

Very strong platform!!! So easy to integrate and share your data with your team. There are couple delegation issues when it comes to large datasets typucally with more than 2000 rows of data and getting around this is not easy. Also if there more design and customization options to make your apps look professional that would be great. I rated 4 stars for these capabilities, I would rate 5 stars otherwise

App worked fine until last update. Now, it is slow and unresponsive more often then not. I generally have to set a reminder to try and enter my work required info on another day when I can't get the app to load. This has caused me to miss important information and take hits against my performance. Revert this to the old update so I can use it again please as its required for my job. Thats the worst part. I have no choice but to use it.

The app is way too slow, even to see the list of apps I have to wait until it finally loads. Changes are not synchronized right away,I have to refresh repeatedly and wait for them to appear. I'm also getting a "No Internet" error while my internet is good and everything else's works.

It's always a gamble if the "update" fixes bugs or causes them. Seems every 2nd or 3rd release is semi stable -not that you'd even know which bugs got addressed because their documentation is progressively getting worse. It would be nice to know what the 100-150 bug fixes were in each update. Offline abilities are an even bigger gamble. Be warned.

App is regularly updated sometimes introducing bugs, notably with camera and pen input controls. Lots of support calls when an app is unshared as this does not appear to clear shortcuts for the unshared App or remove it from the favourites list. No way to get a session ID without closing the app you were using and opening the player. No way to run multiple apps at the same time. Player should be an easy entry point for users as they just want to get to their business apps.

This app has the option to 'compress images before uploading', but never works. Only worked during one of the updates 2 weeks ago, and stopped working 1 week later when the next update was released. Also on that topic, this app has way too many updates - at least once a week. Tried to provide feedback via the app to developers to fix the image compression issue (affects our work since we always face crashes and loss of data due to the large files being uploaded) , but no response...

Apps stuck on loading screen forever. Used to work well enough, it stopped after publishing the app.

Easy to install and use. Love the ability to add a direct shortcut to an app to my phone its home screen.

Normally very slow but after last update not loading every time have to clear data and catch to log in and then again after few hours not loading.
