This application offers one of the most unstable and unpleasant user experiences I've seen in a commercial application in a very long time. Getting things done in this application is not intuitive at all, and I develop mobile applications for a living. I highly recommend consumers stick with the website instead. Although they both share alot of the same issues in regard to user experience, it's at least stable enough to not block you from going through the flows of making a return/reservation.

Good concept, needs work. Took longer to use the app than going inside the store. Part of the problem is you input a lot of the info until you are sitting in their lot. Went through all of the disclaimers, take 3 pictures and then sent me to the vehicle. Then more instructions, more pictures, and a trip to hit down the keys. Took 15 min. When I brought it back, took just as long. More pictures, more entering info. Very redundant. Also, you have to close the keyboard before you can enter submit

I truly don't understand how anyone rents uhauls using this app. There are so many parts where it simply does not work and you can't get past a section. It won't upload any photos but won't let you move forward without an photo. It takes you in circles over and over again. We used several different phones (that are different brands) and yet could not upload photos or get through to the next step. This app is absolutely worthless.

The procedure and dealing with uhaul became a game of 'CLUE' when picking up the truck. It was pouring rain and trying to follow their instructions ( with a local sheriff parked at the end of the driveway just to add to the stress) it was awful. Dark, confusing, poor lighting, a down spout right on top of the key lock box. Upon return, the app wouldn't work right and the same sheriff parked at the bottom of the driveway, after 45 minutes a person just has to leave.

This app snuck right by your QA department. No longer can I successfully save photos for picture ID, nor can I update my addresses or credit card numbers and have them save. It doesn't seem to sync up with the account all the time as far as equipment reservations, etc. I didn't know it was possible to have this much regression in an app. You should invest in time machines and go back in time when the app work perfectly and just leave it alone.

seriously annoying app for pickup, slightly better for drop off. when I came to pick up, there were so many steps, and then it didn't want me to pick up because somehow my current photo didn't match my driver's license photo from 3 years ago so I still had to go in the store. when I dropped off, I had already taken photos of the truck but had to go back to take them within the app. luckily, the guys at the store were super nice and helpful otherwise I likely would have cancelled the reservation.

Need to stop asking for the app to be reviewed while completing a drop off. I took the picture and clicked finish, and receive the next page. I was only able to see to lock the vehicle doors before a pop up asking to review the app showed up. Of course I'm trying to handle business so I choose 'maybe later'. It closed out the entire direction page and left me having to call to figure how top finish the drop off. Otherwise the app is lovely and easy to use. 1 star since I was on hold 10+ min.

I definitely didn't have as bad a time using this app as some other reviewers, but I did have two issues worth mentioning. First, I had a hard time getting the key to the truck I rented. The app wouldn't give me the code I need to unlock the key lockbox, so I had to contact both the location & app support to get it, which took about 20 min. Then, the return process didn't say what to do with the key, so I left with it. That's on me, but it seems important to include in the return process!

This is a poorly executed app. It's clear in design but ultra slow in execution. If you want to check on your order it takes forever to load the data, even on wifi. Returning a truck using the app is even worse. Part of the process is to enter your location where the truck is returned, especially when the return location is not manned. Forget it! It never loaded my location. Back to the drawing board U-Haul.

Took me 4 or 5 times to complete the process of returning my truck as the app kept returning to the step 1 screen after I was nearly complete with all the steps. And it didn't save any of my photos or answers, so I ended up having to start over again and again. Not a great experience when you're sitting in a parking lot at 10pm trying to git 'er done. Feels pretty buggy.

Slow and laggy. Had to take multiple pictures a second time because the app couldnt load it. Took over 20 minutes for the pick up process, which put me past the time I was suppose to have already taken possession of the truck and they still wanted it returned at the original time. Oh, they also want a secondary contact and won't allow the rental to go through if they don't answer their phone. Drop off process is equally annoying, but there weren't any technical difficulties during that.

Reserve on the website. Pick up in person at the location. App does allow for easy rescheduling of a current reservation. The app requires a "secondary contact" at the time of pickup of the rental. My spouse's number was already on the account, so couldn't use that one. So not a 24/7 service, as you will need to wake up someone up or interrupt them at work. Also, make sure you have a smartphone with a good camera regardless. As UHAUL sends a text/email for uploading proof of prior damage.

This app was extremely frustrating to use. When I attempted the self checkout, if I didn't take the required pictures and upload them fast enough, I got booted out of the entire process and had to start all over again. Eventually gave up and had to get someone to manually check me out. Struggled with the after hours drop-off as well. Great concept, poor implementation.

This app is so far behind what it needs to be. It is glitchy the application does not save information, setting up your profile is a huge pain. It discourages you from trying to do things yourself and makes me want to just to hire movers. The interface seems simple enough but nothing works on it. It takes an extremely long time now to upload and extremely long time to save if it saves it all, even on the best of networks it underperforms.

Could not use the app to upload a photo of the returned equipment, which was the primary reason to download it. Failures with the app on multiple devices. I suspect a server error, but that's the case, we should be able to by-pass the photo requirement or at least get an error telling us why. Wasted ao much time trying to save time and do a self-return. Though it is a great idea for an app, I am not at all happy with the impact to my schedule it has caused me.

Like many others have mentioned, I had a LOT of difficulty being able to actually pick up the truck. I was expecting to just drive up to the lot, open my phone with my GPS on, click "I'm here" or something like that and get the truck. But in actuality I wasted a whole hour on this app going through a lot of verification steps (take a photo of yourself, take a photo of your driver's license front and back, fill out a bunch of contact info, etc). I couldn't figure out why they needed me to drive to the truck and sit in the car on my phone filling out this complex registration - I would have much rather done that a week before from my warm office when I first reserved the truck than on my phone in the cold on the day of a stressful move. Also as others mentioned, every step of the verification was followed by several minutes of waiting before the app ended up crashing. Upload your photo - wait 5 minutes, then the app crashes! Repeat for the next photo, and the next, and the next. Quite frustrating. Finally I got to the last step called "Reviewing Application" which I was never able to get to finish loading. After trying for 15 minutes on that step alone I started calling customer support but I never got through to anyone. They have a "chat with us" option in the app, but no one answered. All told, I spent an hour waiting in the cold for this app to work. I ended up having to wait until the hardware store where the truck was at finally opened up and I got a human to help. Trusting this app was a major mistake and waste of time on a day when I was trying to move to a new house and had little time to spare.

This app is such a pain! Every time I have tried to use it I have issues! It has not shown that I booked a truck so I do it again and THEN it shows that I am double booked. It won't let me update my contact info, it keeps giving me an error. I can't even open the "Orders" tab on the home screen. I click on it, the bar at the top shows that it is loading for a second, and then nothing happens. Overall very disappointed. It is frustrating when it should be convenient.

The check-in experience is terrible. Part of it would lead you off the app over to the browser, where the only option is "continue" on a page with a long "terms and conditions" about optional protection of some $100+ even though "continue" doesn't mean adding the optional coverage. The fact that it leads me off the app (with the warning "you're leaving the app. do you want to proceed") makes me suspicious and not want to read the long text and just want to tap "close."
