It's an interesting concept and one I have been enjoying since day one. You sign up, fill your profile with a bio, interests, and an avatar, and find people to connect with from anywhere. You can add some filters or be automatically matched based on interests. When someone sends you a letter, you get notified who it is, where it's coming from (a general area for privacy), and how long until you receive it. You can't read it ahead of time which is part of the fun and appeal! Highly recommended!

I really do love this app. It gives such an amazing opportunity to meet others in a way I have yet to see any other app offer. No creepy messages, no spam, it's amazing. The only recommendation I have is to make letters more personalized through new fonts, stickers, different paper options, etc. I think it could really take it from being a great app to a perfect app--thank you! ♥️

Works well, and my pen friends so far have been fun to talk to. Conversation is not as shallow as other apps. And I'm learning about people around the world. I love it! (No technical errors at this time, smooth app.) My only requests would be more stamp designs and the ability to add minor customization to the avatars (I like that they are used rather than usual social media pictures).

Really like the filtering system they have in place and the mandatory request for sharing pics. Overall a very wholesome app. One suggestion: why do letters only travel in one direction East to west. They should travel west to east too. It would save some time for people who are so far on the other side of the world that they're closer in the other direction

Slowly is an amazing app that allows you to get in contact with people around the world via digital postcards. The time you receive the card depends on the distance you are from the sender, and the delayed gratification makes you think about what you write. Waiting almost makes the message even more meaningful. The app us very user-friendly, and it's available in almost, if not all languages. Would recommend to anyone who wants to find friends around the world.

it's a lovely app! i've become connected with quite a few people who are very friendly. it would be nice if the app added a translation system for those who are not good at speaking languages different from their native tongue. this isn't a problem with me since most of the people i get seem to speak somewhat english, but i can tell it's hard for them since it's not their first language. overall, a wonderful app that can create friendships instantly.

If you're going to only give us certain options for profile pictures, I think you need to provide more of a variety. There really are only a few good options and the rest suck or don't match your hair color or face shape, and so everyone picks the same thing and the bad ones are left unused. Just a suggestion!

Updated 10/9: I reinstalled and kept getting an error message that locked me out of any commands. Uninstalled for good! I think this app is great for people that dont have time to engage in constant contact. I think it should be a choice if u want ur profile pic vs. an avatar. I appreciate the old school feeling of having a pen pal :) and the filter helps a lot too!

Slowly is a great idea, would honestly get 5 stars from me if it weren't for one glaring problem. The app desperately needs to be fixed. An app where the entire premise is writing long letters to pen pals, crashes every 10 words you write in said letters. Consistently crashes. Genuinely annoying, but it's only saving grace is that when it crashes repeatedly it at least saves your letter (most of it, maybe not the last few words you wrote) so when you go back into it you can just continue writing

I've only been using this app for a few days, but so far it's good has room for improvements. I think the avatars could defintely use an upgrade and it would be great if you were "auto-matched" with mode than one person at a time. It would be helpful if there was a short tutorial that walked you through the app. And it would be nice to be able to save letters from your pen pals.

The idea is there but the execution is lacking. Two issues make this app a negative experience. First: Actually the text editor. Being able to select and delete a section of your letter just doesn't work reliably. It often deletes significantly more or less than your selection or lags. Second: Not being able to reference the letter you're replying to while writing. It makes it difficult to respond without pasting their letter in your draft and deleting as you go. Refer to problem one.

I love this app. It is phenomenal. I have met an abundance of people with different backgrounds. The UI is clean-cut and fresh, I love the fact that Slowly places emphasis on the connecting part of the experience and not on photos. Even though it takes a while for the letters to send based on location, its usually worth the wait. Honestly, the waiting won't be much of a problem when you have a lot of people writing to you. Thank for this app, it is a God send.

what a great app! i've been using it for about a week and all i have is positive remarks. i love how when you are sending/recieving a letter, the delivery time is accurate to the recipient's geographic location. also, i'm meeting and connecting with people whom i would've never met before! i'm getting the chance to learn of many different cultures, as well as improving my foreign language skills. everyone that i've connected with has been very kind and respectful of language barriers. thank you!

I'm really enjoying the app so far. The only bad thing is starting off it's a little slow, because you have to wait for your letters to send and hope someone writes back. But that's not the apps fault. (in fact you could argue it's one of it's charm's) I know a lot of people don't like the long wait times between letters, but to me it adds to the experience. It's so exciting to see a letter coming from halfway around the world and I find myself watching the time, counting down the hours till my next one arrives. If you want to meet new people, but don't like the boring not so personal interactions that come from most instant messaging (at least that's my most common experience with people I've met online) this is a great alternative. Plus you never have to work around one another's schedule/ time zones.

Fun app, unique idea, fair monetization. The delay on messages manages to cut down on filler and time wasting, which makes for more meaningful conversations that ordinary texts. People are generally very nice, and I've made some good friend through it. It seems like the app biases towards certain countries with its userbase, but I suppose that's only natural.

Downgrading my review. Every time I start typing a letter, my keyboard (both virtual and Bluetooth) bog down to the point of almost unusable, and it affects my entire phone until I reboot. The UI needs a rethink, too; for example there's no rhyme or reason as to when someone's profile pic can be tapped for their profile. Someone who is NOT familiar with the app needs to be put on the testing team. I want to LOVE this app, but right now I'm avoiding it because I don't want to reboot again.

The quality and consistency of use - the emphasis on taking your time to write something thoughtful and engaging - it's absolutely refreshing. There is a certain disadvantage you get from sending a small quick message - that lack of instant gratification and doubt the recipient will bother to continue the conversation. It's encapsulated so well and its great. The stamp collecting aspect is very fun as well, and I look forward to slowly building up my collection!

What an awesome method to meet people by exchanging letters. The time that it takes to send the letters allows the sender to write carefully on what to say. In the end, it somehow creates a uniqe space for friendship to develop. The app is designed very well along with its website version. They have a unique way to support the platform by selling special stamps with unique pictures, but the whole platform is free to use with no ads. Thank you for making this app! I really appreciate it.
