This app is really great..... If you take the little time it takes to use it to it's full extent! This one keeps up with the videos well even with 1080HD, unlike alot of the other ones that kept on reloading and lagging! It also has a pretty friendly user interface........ I've found this App to be the Best of all TV casting apps I've tried. Best of all for me is the ability to cast from a web address video on my phone to my TV. Casting photos, and videos stored on my phone is also cool. The controls of pause, rewind, and volume from my Android is great. I highly recommend this App.

Shortly after installing Cast-to-TV-Xcast, I was casting a movie from my phone to my TV --- perhaps within 3 or 4 clicks. I was amazed. All my attempted casting with other procedures have failed. Specifically, I have a LG Rebel 4 interfacing with a Roku-Ultra and then to a older (non-smart) Samsung Plasma TV. It is a trivial process to select a MP4 movie-file from my SD-card and then view it on my TV --- with impressive resolution and audio. Similarly, I can easily cast music files from my SD-card to the TV. With slightly more effort, YOUTUBE videos can also be selected and cast to the TV. I haven't tried any of the other features. I am very impressed with this App. FWIW - I have a suspicion that the "LG-flavor" of Android used in my phone stymied my previous casting attempts. This App overcomes that limitation.

I've downloaded two other apps prior just trying to simply find an app that'd play the site I always watch, which ain't an app or big site. Thankfully I could just pull up the episode I want, just click the button on the bottom right, and BAM! I'm good to go. The Firestick remote even works for the stream! And I'm even writing this review as I'm watching something, so I'm not forced to sit in the app. The display captions are so clear and concise for the content I'm watching too!

One of the sites I use to watch cartoons doesn't work with this app. Instead of casting the episode I selected, it plays an advertisement video instead. There should be a list with different links to choose from so that the episode can be viewed instead of the ad that automatically starts playing.

Was working really well on my Roku TVs but now it doesn't work anymore. Every time I try to cast a video it opens "Play to roku" on the TV and then closes immediately. I don't know if it's the app or Roku's latest update messed it up. Latest update on my Roku TV shows Software version:11.5.0 Build:4235 Updated on 11/1/22. Hope this information helps to see if the problem is on Roku's side and not the app.

(UPDATE: see:"WEB VIDEO CASTER" its perfect) -When switching to subtitles or switching off subtitles it jumps to the beginning of clip. -It doesnt do slow motion or frame by frame that i can tell. -Bad Problems: -On the web, if you come across a castable video list the stream format options Pop Up on their own. Constantly. Can't see anything have to keep swiping them away. Annoying. -Missing option to play video's audio thru phone speaker or BT buds instead of TV speakers. Other apps do this.

Was using allcast prior to this app. Alllcast can't access the sd card. Its ads are a bit more obtrusive. No volume control. Used with xbox. Randomly down ALL DAY. Switched to Xcast. Instantly found the xbox to mirror to. Can open SD. The ads are so tiny. Can control volume, replay, shuffle and more. Even has sub file support. You can click where you want to jump to on the video. Queue is annoying, it queues the whole folder you open. Honestly doesn't get in the way though. 5/5 love it ❤❤

Constantly loses connection with my TV every time I use it. I have to shut down the app and reopen it to get it to connect. I've emailed the app developers a few times but did not get a response. UPDATE: The developers did contact me after I posted this review. They asked for more information about my devices. Were still troubleshooting right now. I'll update my review again after it's fixed.

I was having difficulty casting HD video to my Roku using the Roku app. The video would skip, loop, and reload ...it was a mess. SD was fine, but HD, not so much. I thought it was likely my WiFi throughput, but decided to try this app, just in case. The result? Casting now works perfectly.

it's great when it's works. I'm able to stream all my vids at the best quality. but as soon as i need to dig around the options... BAM, a giant ad that takes up the entire screen. then it's utterly unusable. if it took up less space and was closeable, easy five star rating. but it doesn't.

If it's castable, this does it. Thanks for providing such a great app for streaming, with minimally invasive ads! The only thing I would do to improve it would be to change the true rng that is assigned to the shuffle function, to one that won't replay This app has made its way onto my "automatically (re)install" list, for new devices, and the occasional reformat

Great app in the beginning but it started not being able to cast to Roku correctly (the cast from my phone was only in the upper lefthand corner of my TV). Looks like this is a known issue but one would think it should be resolved after a few months. The app also does not stream certain file types (mkv), so that limits what I can watch. If those issues are fixed, definitely deserves 5 stars.

Well I can't tell you if this worked to mirror my Pixel 3A to my Roku (which thanks to Google you can't nativly do) because I didn't really get a chance to use it. It's ad-supported which is fine, but the ads are intrusive. Initially there was just a banner ad but the minute I tried to cast from Twitch there was a full-page ad that you had to X out of. These kind of ads were always obnoxious (less so than the ones that played video music) but in 2023 they really have no place.

Easy to use, convenient. I love being able to cast content from my Android phone right to my Roku TV. Only thing I would change is this; when you exit the app the last thing you viewed remains on your TV screen and you have to basically go to your smart TVs home screen to reset it and go back to whatever you were doing before firing up the app. Make it so that when we exit the app we can just resume where we left off on our TV and this will be perfect.

I've never done this type of thing before and it was so easy to set up and get going. I mean I didn't even know what streaming was or that I could just use my fire stick to cast to my reg flat screen. Also I lost my fire remote and now I don't need to purchase one this app has one for a fire.You can design your video ,music, photo and app cast to tv and yes you need Wi-Fi to do so. I really enjoy just having to sign up and hit 1 button and your connected and off you go.

When I first downloaded this app, it worked great. I never had a problem. Just recently, it stopped working altogether. It would not connect and I kept getting messages telling me to turn off my VPN. I didn't know I had a VPN and I thought maybe my phone came equipped with it. I checked settings and nope, no VPN on this phone. I rebooted my router, my smart tv and my phone. Still no connection. My phone and tv are both the same brand; TCL. I've never had a problem with either.

I have tried multiple apps trying to stream from my Android Pixel XL to an AppleTV 4K. While many of the others had nice features like well designed menus, etc, this one goes all the others I tried one better: IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! After so many failed claims from other products. my jaw nearly hit the floor when this worked smoothly and reliably as soon as it was installed.. The ads on the free version were a bit muxh, but I barely saw them as I got to the Pro version pronto . Well worth it!
