One list for all your discoveries
Add interesting shows and movies to your Watchlist to keep track of your new discoveries and view them later. The Watchlist is shared between all your devices, so you can even add to your Watchlist from your TV or phone and laptop through Search on any browser.
Use your phone as your remote

Really unhappy with the interface changes of the library via smart tv- films are listed only by date of purchase & multiple movies listed in library (as they should be because I've paid for them) but when I go to watch, there's only options to buy or watchlist. This rollout should have waited until it matched the phone app or left alone.

I've been using this for a while and have had no problem with it, since it syncs up with my YouTube app, but recently I bought Creepshow season 4 on this app, but it's not showing up on YouTube and it's saying I have to buy the season. Just wondering if there is some certain reason for this and if there is a way to get it on my YouTube library without having to pay for it again. Thank you

Pixel 7 Pro. Remote feature to control Chrome Cast is constantly unresponsive, fails to connect, stops viewing to try and pair Bluetooth (when it works over WiFi). This is with Sony Bravia TV. The entire layout of the Google TV app. The menu of topics, genres and categories is unsorted and I find it difficult to find the topic I'm searching for. For example, I found the New Releases once, then the next time I use the app another night, that option is no longer to be found.

Horrible picture quality on Chromecast. You would think they'd be more competitive on their own platforms, but Google really doesn't deliver. We live in a rural area where the only Internet service is wireless, e.g. satellite or cell. We use a mobile hotspot for all our devices, so maybe that would be an excuse EXCEPT every other streaming app has better picture quality on our Chromecast. Pretty disappointing, but i guess there's a workaround, so... oh well.

Purchasing things in this app, rather than Google Play, is annoying. With Play I could quickly switch from books, apps, games, movies, and music. They took away music to try to force us into using their YouTube service. Now movies and TV series aren't available. They could have added the functionality to this without taking it away from Play.

This app has more and more issues every day. It will work for a month or so, then it breaks again. I've had so many complaints in the past, and this time it just keeps hanging at "preparing to download", but never downloads anything. I've tried clearing the cache, clearing the data, deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing works. I wish there was another alternative to this garbage to watch the shows I want.

The in-app remote has a lot of input lag between it and the Chromecast(makes it very difficult to type things or even do things in general) and randomly disconnects in the middle of use. From what I can see, I'm not the only one experiencing this. This is very disappointing, Google. You can do much better than this. I'd understand if it was a third party service or device but these are both from Google. Please fix it.

You "can't" download movies for offline viewing; I have a new phone, I have 80+ GB of free storage, I've cleared the caches, I've restarted my phone, and I have the settings set correctly. You think of it and I've done/tried it. The movie was pending for nearly 30 minutes and once it was finally downloading; it was another 30 minutes before it was even at 10%. That's half of a normal length movie. This is also with 5G and full bars. The Google Play Movies never had these issues.

Booooooo. Platform is exactly the same as the Play Movies and TV app Google previously used, except the new app doesn't work. Must be crashing on multiple occasions. I have now lost all downloads on my tablet (movies and TV shows) twice in 2 weeks. I'm in the middle of nowhere on an op, so downloaded content is important to me. Get it together Google.

Hi there, I am a huge fan of any Google products even if they have some flaws. I prefer Google TV over any other cast apps, but lately I've noticed that closed caption could use an update, since some movies can go on for more than 30 seconds without any subtitles, and going back or reloading the movie doesn't help to fix it. I think this is an important feature that should be improved.

I have 46 movies and four TV shows with several seasons. on every movie I download it cannot fetch a license! I have cleared cache. I have restarted my phone. I have removed and re-downloaded and nothing has worked. I am on vacation and it spent two hours of my time on the phone with technical support and still absolutely nothing!!! from reading other reviews the seems to be an issue what the heck is going on.

This app has sadly been pretty awful for me :/. I bought Fixer Upper through Google play so I could watch it on my phone, but I've only been able to watch it a couple times without serious issues. I tried watching other movies/shows in the app, same issue. When I start watching, sound and video match up for 10-15 seconds, then they get off from each other until the video starts freezing and I can't watch anymore. I've had this issue for 9-11 months (I think since some certain updates on the Samsung phone) . Occasionally like a few days ago, the app will miraclulously work. But, as with each time it as worked, there is a phone update and the app stops working again. I've Googled this issue and haven't been able to find anything on it yet, and my husband has tried to figure out if a setting is off in my phone, but so far, we can't find anything to fix. Ive downloaded the episode I'm watching and turned the phone on airplane mode so for sure I'm watching it downloaded, and its no different. Done wifi vs phone service streaming. Tried everything I can think of! So sad, this had potential to be great for me, but this is the best I can give at this point.

This is the only app I've ever had that loses connection nonstop. Additionally, it goes to a screen saying cannot connect with the only option being to click retry. What is the point of stalling it? Just make it retry on its own. Doesn't make sense to force people to click that just because of something you messed up. Shows and movies have issues with remembering where you left off and will go back up to 40 minutes sometimes. The app also crashes a lot.

The quality of movies have been good. One of the problems I have is that you don't get the extras when you buy a movie and yes I know not all movies have "outtakes", "deleted scenes" or "the making of..." but it be nice to have them on one app instead of having me download another to watch the extra content. Also some movies don't appear on here sometimes saying unavailable but when I look up the same movie on the web I get one that's available but that one doesn't show up on the app at all.

This app is supposed to let you use your phone as a chromecast remote when the remote it comes with breaks (it will). It will not pair effectively unless you uninstall and then reinstall, and even then, it took a few tries to show the screen to enter the pairing code. The chromecast itself is okay, but everything you have to use to interact with it is defective in some way.

The very fact that the app automatically deletes / disables your access to your legally purchased and downloaded movies and shows is completely frustrating. On multiple occassions over the last year I have had to download movies again and again. It uses up a huge amount of online data to have to redownload again. I recently went on a 2 month holiday in Asia only to find that Google TV had erased my ENTIRE movie library TWICE during my holiday. Google TV is horrible.

Normally I love this app and service but as of the last few years I bought a whole season of a show without all the episodes and recently for some reason I can no longer download my movies and show that I have purchased and own. I have fought with this for I think months. I'm kinda over it. I have a flight in 2 days and the service I expected from Google tv isn't being supplied. I have reset and updated everything on my phone and emptied the cache and even Uninstalled the app. Link don't work.

I have recently tried to by a movie and encountered an issue buying it (see bottom). Since Google has gone corporate with all their apps, it is very sad to see the good apps they had going for them go down the toilet in such a way such as this app here. Unfortunately as a result, I will have to purchase the movie I wanted from another source, which could potentially be less convenient. Error: An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later.
