Sign up to get free visual support with tasks like reading small print, matching clothes, troubleshooting technology, setting up home appliances, or any other simple task a volunteer can complete over live video. If a task is too complicated or requires expertise, call one of our company partners for on-demand video customer support via Specialized Help.

If you have eyesight you want to share, sign up as a volunteer and answer calls from a person in need! Tasks are usually completed in just a few minutes, and if you’re busy there’s no need to answer – someone else will get it.

HOW IT WORKS:
1. Anyone 17 or older may sign up as a user or volunteer.
2. Calls are connected based on daytime timezone and language. Average wait time is about 15 seconds.
3. When a call is answered, a live one-way video (two-way audio) is initiated, allowing volunteers or company reps to see what’s in front of the user’s camera and provide verbal support.
Note: Specialized Help availability varies by region and company opening hours.

I am really surprised that considering this is an app for the blind and visually impaired that there is no option to have this screen on this app turned into a dark mode because the light theme is very difficult for some of us with visual impairments, I would request that you have a dark theme toggle please.

This app is amazing but there is still a lot of room for improvement. 1. When you click on the "Send Us Feedback" button the place where all the contact info should be is blank and nothing else happens. So yheres no way to contact you. 2. After each call there is a menu that pops up asking if there were any issues with the call - when I try to click and report any issues nothing happens. I'm not taken anywhere. I have so many issues to report but no where to report them.

I am writing this after more than six months of using it. Earlier there were bugs & glitches in the app but now the functionality & quality has improved by leaps & bounds. It is great to help someone in need of assistance & I have assisted over 40 people till date & today I addressed a meeting of principles of blind persons colleges in New Delhi over the app. They throughly tested the app & were super impressed by its privacy & functional features.

It has been quite a meaningful adventure being a part of the BME volunteer community. The app updated this morning. Not 5 minutes ago a call came through. I answered the call only for there to be no sound. When I tried to rate the call as problematic the app was completely frozen. You might wanna fix that.

i was excited to use this app, as I thought it was a very cool and unique idea, but I am deleting it right after reading their terms of service. "Be My Eyes reserves the right to make unilateral modifications to these Terms of Service at any time, without your consent, and you agree that we may do so". Terms of service is the same as a contract, imagine signing a contract where the other party says "this contract means nothing and we can change it without even telling you".

This is the best app ever. But I wish it could be possible to have a call back option. For instance if one has just helped the person identify an object then they realise they had not placed their camera in an out of focus mode then they could call back and help re-identify the object.

Have called twice now. Each time comma something I have been looking 4 It's found within Ten minutes.great service Period enthusiastic volunteers period And the only reason I don't use it more, is because I can't think of any ideas of how to do so period I don't need anybody to read to me period I Can I read. labels on grocery store products period. I do pull out the magnifying glass. That enlarges what I see by about 4 times frequently enough. But for some reason it doesn't occur to me to use

Tried to help someone 2 times and failed. 1st time the green button to answer was unresponsive. The 2nd time my phone ring without a notification, when i opened the app it says "please wait" on a blank page and unresponsive. I updated the app and the problem continues. I really want to help but the app does not allow me to do it.

When it works it's great. For some reason it will no longer allow the option for notifications with Android. It automatically has then turned off and when you try to turn them back on it says this app doesn't send notifications (which is untrue because that's how you receive calls).

The fact that there are more volunteers than disabled people on this platform gives me hope for humanity. I have only answered couple of calls so far but both time the interactions have been very productive for the caller and endearing for me. The product is very well thought out. I wish there are certain features added like video stabilization, haptic vibration to guide the user for directions, using AI to render blurred text/images. I wish more seek help and even more are willing to help.

Amazing - but talking to a blind friend of mine mine uses this app, I feel like a feedback feature may be needed? He has said that he has encountered a handful of people that were not helpful. I think it would be nice for people to be able to choose to not be matched with certain people again or to be more likely to be matched with others. Maybe this has been considered and it's not the best option or maybe the need to volunteer ratio is so different that it's just not an issue.. just a thought!

Haven't used this app yet, but the idea is so awesome. I hope I get a call to help someone out. Hopefully this goes to the top of the reviews list, I doubt it. But Incase it does- I'm seeing people say it won't connect to calls, but I saw a review or 2 say to go into settings, go to 'be my eyes' app., Go to 'permissions' and UNCHECK where it says 'remove permissions if app isn't used', and that fixes the connection issues. If an app isn't used for a while your phone removes it's permissions.

Really cool platform of you're looking for a way to do some good for other people. The app can be glitchy sometimes and has cause me to miss a call or lose signal, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Usually not a big deal as there's probably someone else in line ready to take the call. I've had calls about distinguishing packaging, choosing patterns, and researching HR initiatives. Once I even explained the purpose of the app to someone whose kid had installed it for them!

I just received my first call! I helped an older lady with matching her shirt to her shoes. Something so simple, but it made my heart so full. Like...its hard to explain but just being able to assist someone who needs your help with something you take for granted everyday, being able to see. I will always have this app downloaded! Definitely recommend! It is a very rewarding experience/feeling!❤

Great idea and glad to see that the volunteer to user ratio is very high. Unfortunately, I had to delete it instantly for a big reason. I work 12 hour overnight shifts, so I'm actually awake at night and asleep during the day. The app states it automatically assigns a call accepting window to daytime only hours based on your timezone and there's no way to change it. I'd love to at least be able to edit my time zone to trick the app into calling me at night.

I just started using be my eyes. And is a fantastic application. I cannot believe the people that donate their time to provide such a service. I however do have a suggestion or 2 to improve the service. It would be fantastic if a volunteer would be able to tap on their screen to indicate where an item might be from a certain distance say for example I am looking for a bench. If they were to tap on the screen where the bench is then I would have a good general direction of where the item is.

This app is really cool. It's always good to use technology for helping others. Below are some suggestions from me (not sure if y'all already implemented it or not): 1. Rating system of the helpers. The goal is just to avoid crazy ppl trying to trap or do any non beneficial things to the blind people. 2. Maybe the app can also connect blind people to their nearest people around them. That way, if they need a direction, someone nearby can easily help navigating it.
