Wearables and Wear OS

We integrates with Wear OS and many other Wearable platforms (Garmin, Polar, FitBit, Galaxy Watch, Zepp,Mi Band...). You can install Sleep as Android on your watch and use its sensors for more precise sleep tracking. On Wear OS you can use a Wear OS Tile to start / stop or pause sleep tracking and check you progress without the need to interact with your phone.

Accessibility Service

The app features a series of alarm tasks called CAPCTHA which make sure you do not oversleep. Completing tasks like sheep counting, math equations or scanning a bar-code on your toothpaste will make sure you are fully awake and ready for your morning.

To make sure you won\'t sleep through your duties the app may use an Accessibility Service to prevent you from force stopping the app or turning off the device (cheating) before completing the alarm tasks (CAPTCHA). No private information are collected.

Device Admin

This app may use the Device Administrator permission.
The reason is effective CAPTCHA (a feature to make sure you wake up in the morning) so you cannot avoid alarms by uninstalling the app during an alarm.

Health disclaimer

Sleep as Android is not intended for medical use, but instead to improve general fitness and well-being especially in terms of better sleep. Any oxygen saturation tracking is performed with compatible oximeter devices such as the TicWatch 3 Pro, BerryMed oximeters... more at https://docs.sleep.urbandroid.org/devices/wearables.html

I had high hopes for this app. It has lots of bells and whistles but it doesn't even recognize or record snoring. I looked through all the settings and instructions and set everything up. It snowed that I only slept 15 min. No sound on recordings. Sonar enabled with charging, but no movement data. Did another couple of pretend sleep sessions with pretend snoring, coughing, laughing. It does hear the snoring at all. Then it's up to you to listen to audio clips and label the sounds. Waste of time.

I've found this app easy to use, and very helpful. I got it partly out of curiosity, partly to help me start keeping track of my sleep to try to fix bad habits/patterns and be more aware of how I'm really doing with sleep overall. I appreciate that the free trial is long enough to give you an idea of whether you'd want to purchase it or not. I've used the motion sensing sleep tracking feature, not the sound one, and I haven't had any problems with it draining my battery. Great app. 👍👍

The app has great data but it's not intuitive. It shows you data and graphs when it comes to deep sleep, REM, light sleep and a bunch of other stuff including sleep efficiency. There's no benchmarks though so it's not easy to see how well you're sleeping compared to the average. Fitbit and Samsung have much more intuitive interfaces and you don't have to dive into a bunch of FAQs to figure it out. The smart awake alarm clock is also not available to set on the watch and only the app.

this app has changed my life! how silly does that sound?! but it's true! it has helped me train myself to get up when the alarm goes off, i no longer have oversleeping issues, and it functions great! there are many great features and i love then unlocked version! highly recommend! ive owned this app for nearly 8 years and would be lost without it!

Perfect, except... I need a way to export the graphs in "Charts > Graphs." I have Non 24 and would love to be able to export this data. (When I sleep on a graph with hours slept per day in a list of days). with Non-24, this pattern looks like a wave. The Graph for this in the app is odd because data goes out of bounds in the graph. This is not as helpful as it could be. I know a lot of Non-24 patients and I would be able to recommend it more if this feature was improved.

App slightly improved over time, with monitoring better reflecting actual sleep patterns. Also, as a straight alarm, it is full of useful features. Its downfall is support - none apparent so far, just automated direction to check online FAQS - and surprisingly poorly arranged sleep analysis tools. There are multiple screens with no seeming logic to the layout, and duplicative terminology, such as charts and graphs. These are under most conditions the same thing, and that is the situation here. Navigation through the tools is non-intuitive and incomprehensible, with some of the most useful information deeply buried. These features are in severe need of rethinking for the sleep tracking analysis to be more than a novelty. I give it a star for the sophistication of its alarms, but nothing additional because of its many failures and weaknesses.

This has become my alarm app for about a year now. It has been pretty reliable. I've had only a few days the alarm didn't go off and I still do not know why (it has not been a problem for over a month now without me doing anything). I like the cockcrow ringtone. I just wish there were more variety of cockcrow ring tones. I really like rich feature/'detailed configurations' around alarm. Recent UI changes also made it much easier and more pleasant to use.

App updated and reset a Stop Oversleeping setting to default that I must have changed two years ago. Could not for the life of me figure out why my alarm started acting differently every morning. As it turns out, the setting isn't located in the NFC settings for the alarm but is in the CAPTCHA settings under the Main settings. Developer responded quickly and, after submitting a bug report, had an answer for me the next day. Highly customizable, but there is a learning curve.

I used this app years ago and loved how much easier waking up was, but didn't care for having my phone in bed with me. Now that I have a Garmin smartwatch, I'm extremely pleased to bring this app back into my life and to see that it's continued to improve. Highly recommended for anyone with sleep issues who can use the data. I would like to see integration with more smart-lights (not requiring a hub) and/or CPAP machines in the future.

This is a fantastic app with loads of different options. You can select your own music to wake up to, have your alarm increase in volume gradually and even set up a captcha so you really have to be awake to disable your alarm, and all without upgrading to a pro version. It's great. My one issue, which is a deal breaker, is that you can't set a max volume for the increasing alarm. This app is still better than every other alarm app but I still don't like it because it hurts my ears before long.

If sleeping well and waking up strong is important to you, then this app is indispensable. It is best of breed, mature, well developed, and will provide you with all the features you need to gather sleep information effectively, see trends and data clearly, and integrates easily with wearables. The alarm system is fantastic and effective. Other apps don't really compare. Very much worth a try, and very effective overall.

I used to really like this app but I might soon have to find an alternative because they keep updating it and making it worse. They took away the record search function and now when you go to look at records it doesn't pop up to little window anymore and the edit is just one line of text so trying to go back through them is becoming a nightmare. They've also changed the screen when you go to stop recording and added extra buttons to add more steps for no reason. UX has taken a nose dive.

What made this alarm great was the many options you could adjust. 2 very important ones to me have been brought up to the developer but they choose not to implement. 1. Allowing a snooze time of one minute (the minimum is 3 minutes). That's too long and I end up falling asleep again. 2. Setting a maximum volume for the alarms. My wife and daughter have been woken up too many times. I've already switched to another alarm (Google Clock) that has these very basic features.

I'd love it if I didn't have to fix it every effing month! I purchase this app like 5 years ago and have had to delete it and reinstall it countless times, losing all data and having to rebuild all my preferred alarms and nap times. At this point, I'm getting fed up with it and will likely just be done the next time it breaks. It doesn't even sync with my Galaxy watch and crashes my watches tracking. Lots of great options that I paid for and simply don't get the value for.
A Google user
I've been using this every day for years and can't go without it. The recent redesign with the cards does require an extra press or two to change the alarm, which is a tiny annoyance, it just feels a little less intuitive. But I love the app a lot anyway. The barcode/QR code captcha for the wake up is the best thing ever for me. I like that it syncs to Samsung Health as well.
A Google user
Helpful overall. I think it turns off my wi-fi, so every time I turn it on I have to go over and turn my wi-fi back on so it doesn't use my data all night. Also, I wish there was a way to update the length of time slept. I will sometimes turn off the alarm and go back to seep, especially if I've had a bout of insomnia, but the app doesn't record any of my sleep after that.
A Google user
This app has really helped me to wake up on time. I used to hit the snooze button several times a morning, but with this app, I snap out of bed the first time my alarm goes off! I like how it creates graphs of your sleep cycles. That helps me track my sleep deficit. Downsides: The app has a lot of features and settings. So you can fine-tune it a lot, but it's overly- complicated and confusing. A less tech-savvy person, like Grandma, would be completely lost. I'll buy the pro version, though.

Convoluted, but incredibly detailed. I still haven't figured out the many intricacies of the app, but it works reliably and has a couple of great features that make it more convenient than competitors. You can set automatic alarms to go off at a given time during the week like normal but it's also a great way to make sure you'll never miss a wake-up call. If you set sleep tracker but don't enough battery, the app will shut off tracking to make sure it saves enough power for the alarm.
