Upwork customer service sucks, they blocked my account for months. Keep that in mind and have alternatives (freelancer and others). The app doesn't have all features of the website, have to periodically open the website to communicate with contractors.

Just a day ago after posting my first job listing they removed it and asked my for identity verification which is fair enough. So I submitted the documents and did the proper stuff and a day later my account was verified. Next day I post a job listing again only for it to be removed for a violation of tos even though I'm unsure what exactly I did wrong. My account is now limited and they want me to repeat the process again with little explanation as to why it happened. I don't recommend!

i had the worst support experience ever in my life with upwork. there is no way to talk to human. my issue is passing a week and only i get responses in requests system that i can not replay to so that i human can read. chat support is dominated by a robot that can only apologize and understand your frustration. but can not understand a single word of how you stuck between machines. so im out of it not using any more.

UpWork is a great service, but the app is not very user friendly. It's hard to navigate around in the app

Frustrating to use - the messaging part of the app is consistently not working with errors reporting "too many redirects". Makes managing our freelancers on the go impossible.

Awful, completely unusable. The only thing that ads any value at a minimum is the chat function, guess what? It doesn't work. Not once.

When the app works, its great, but the problem I have with the app is its temperamental and only works when it wants to. The website of course, no issues, but then I go on the app and it either freezes, tells me it's unable to do what was requested or won't even let me go in at all. I hope this can be fixed as I do like to use upwork to source freelancers for various things and it would be more convenient although judging from the lack of response from the creator of the app, I assume it won't.

This is a terrible app. The message system is broken, you receive a full copy of the message in your notifications but as soon as you tap that, the message screen needs a good connection to do a full refresh, which often fails. Sometimes the app crashes. You can see a really limited amount of information. Limited settings. Mediocre UX. Really, with all the money that these platforms get from clients and (often underpaid) freelancers, which is often over 20% of the budget, you'd expect more.

Messages rarely work. I can see new message previews in my notifications, but when I click through to the app (or even open the app separately and go into messages that way), the newest messages don't show. It's very frustrating, and makes the app a hinderance rather than a help. I'm tempted to call the message part of the app "useless", because as far as instant messaging goes, it's a total waste of time.

I don't receive notifications for new messages, just get emails. I think it's because the app doesn't seem to refresh with new messages itself unless I manually refresh by swiping up

This app has promise but is ridiculously slow. I have no idea why both the app and the website take long to load messages or the app interface in general. If you're busy like me then you havent got the time to sit and wait on this to load!

Confusing and unclear user interface, many bugs, unconvenient chat system, unprofessional customer service. Unreasonably high and unfair fees. One of worse experience. Some of their freelances are good thought.

Messages have not worked properly for 6 months, support say to just use the website that doesn't work also 😆

Pretty poor. Constantly get loading errors with things like TOO_MANY_DIRECTS when trying to do simple things like log in or open messages, even when tapping a push notification about a new message.

The app is good overall, but needs to refresh on its own without needing to hit the refresh button from the three dots menu. Or at least allow refreshing by swiping down from the top.

Most of the time, the messages page show " webpage not found". I'd like to let Upwork know that this is the main feature we install the mobile app for. It's been years I have been facing this issue. This is not expected.
