Description of SimpleLogin | Anti-spam

Application features:

SimpleLogin is an open source solution to protect your email inbox. It allows you to create quickly a random email address (aka alias). All emails sent to an alias is forwarded to your personal email address.

You can use the alias when subscribing to a newsletter, signing up for a new account, giving your email to someone you don't trust. Not only an alias can receive emails, it can also send emails. An alias is a full-fledged email address.

Later if you can simply block or delete an alias if it's too spammy.

Why SimpleLogin?

When you give away your personal email online, there is a good chance that your email address would end up with a spammer or a hacker. SimpleLogin acts as a firewall for to protect your personal email inbox.

What distinguishes SimpleLogin:

- Open-source and easy to self-host. The self-hosting is based on Docker and could be run on almost any Linux server. The hosting instruction is on our repository at https://github.com/simple-login/app

- Powerful features if you have a domain (only available at premium plan).

- Generous free plan: there's no cap on bandwidth or number of replies/sends. The Free Plan is enough for protecting your personal email. Premium Plan targets at more "advanced" users with features like custom domain, unlimited alias or catch-all alias.

Exceptional. Although, I'm not sure if it removes or blocks email trackers; however, it masks emails from newsletters spams, phishing and possible attack from data breaches...

I love this app dearly. Nothing has ever made me feel so anonymous on the Internet. IIt functions seemlessly! Create [and send/receive from] as many emails as you need. I have some dedicated to just one website because I want it to be so private, that no other website even has that one forwarding address. To be able to now officially hide my identity and be untraceable [by email] through any search engine is a whole other peace of mind for me. It was the last missing piece to gain peace! Tysm.

I downloaded this app from playstore(usually i download from f-droid) just to rate this app.This app is very reliable, has great support team, the price for premium is also reasonable and its worth every penny, and the best thing is that the app is open source.

I wish the Delete function wasn't accessible via swipe. Makes me anxious about accidentally deleting something. Hide it deeper is my suggestion, double confirmation that I'd like to delete something with the confirmation button placed elsewhere, or make me type "delete".

I don't know how to work this. I was under the impression you will get an email addy with them to use as a dummy for ads...but it makes you use an existing email addy, for what?? It doesn't even go through that email and pull out the spams...

An amazing software. Works fine on all OS and works as promised. My only wish is the option to change the theme either some premade or an option to add your own CCS.

I like SimpleLogin but I love it more now with the integration with Photonmail. I am not sure why, but I am not seeing the email block option in the app. Please help!

If you consider aliases as a way to take spam management under your own control this service is not for you. There are mail hosting services that offer unlimited aliases with custom domains and decent storage for the same price. The issue is that they filter mails using Spamhaus. You will have to login online and download the "undeliverable" mail to read it. Their site refers to "inability" to deliver mail concealing that all it is an active mail filtering. Rather sneaky.

I cannot thank you enough for creating this app. Saves a lot of time for me to unsubscribe to newsletters and then again resubscribing. And it really keeps my data to myself. 100% recommended!

Plus protonmail user for many years, just a shame this is all or nothing (free or premium) and doesn't have something in between like anonaddy. So I use anonaddy instead. Any branding changes soon, purple is better than shocking pink 😁

Great, this and AnonAddy are by far the best. I prefer this one but AnonAddy is cheaper . Much better to have something than nothing. I would suggest having both for their low cost and continue to help great developers design privacy Centric apps

Missing the ability to block sender in the app. Otherwise it is AMAZING being able to take back control of your email.

Feb 12th Update: the developer reached to me and worked withe to get the issue fixed, great support and earned a loyal customer. Original review: Crash on launch after Feb 5th update. Opened right before the update and worked. After update immediately crashes.

Support is non-existent. When your important email gets blocked, then you are doomed. They follow a ticketing system and it will take atleast 3 days to respond. Despite a premium user of this app, they denied support to me. Such a bad experience.
