Before the most recent version I would have given this app five stars. But the update has gotten rid of the ability to remove unavailable items. So if you're trying to look at what's nearby, it's impossible to find out what's actually available unless you zoom all the way in. It makes the app almost impossible to use if you live in a city and it's absolutely idiotic to have gotten rid of this feature. Bring it back and I'll happily improve my rating.

They're called "surprise" bags for a reason. If you knew what you were actually getting then you would likely not get it. Places I have selected states the value of the item is $21 marked down to 6.99 and what I got was barely even a few dollars let alone worth $21. Some stores are decent but many are false advertising a "good" deal. It doesn't help the environment if you just end up throwing it out at home & you waste limited resources on pure garbage from some of these places. Not recommended!

The app works ok. It takes although long to scroll through places and I always have to reset the search filters. The feedback question is really no help at all. One way to improve that, is to let people upload pictures of what they got.

The pick up hours, are mostly too late, in the night time. It's especially discouraging to pick up items late at night, if it's in a rough neighborhood. Like near the "Skid Row" areas, of Down Town Los Angeles, if you're taking the bus, there. Plus I might not be able to make it back home, at night. If the buses, stop running, at around 12 midnight. It would be better, to pick up leftover items, the next day, in the early afternoon. Like, let's say, around 2pm to 3pm.

this app is great because I love saving the food and of course it's a good quality for cheap and pretty good restaurants for cheap but sometimes my order just goes away and it's really hard to find again so I guess I wish there was like an orders tab or something because it's very convenient on the bottom but sometimes it just isn't there and it stresses me out. also! I wish more restaurants had vegetarian/ vegan only surprise bags. I know that's harder for them but I can't order from most shops

Great idea poor execution. I never get notifications when my favourite places update the availability and have to keep checking the app with 99% rate of disappointment as it always ends up being sold out at the most random hours. When you turn the notifications on, you just get spammed with irrelevant updates and reminders, instead of being able to adjust your settings to only be notified about the food ready to be saved.

Have had some fantastic magic bags from various shops/cafes. However, the app itself is far from perfect. Filters are reset every time you use the app, annoying! You have to cancel a minimum of 2 hours before collection yet shops can cancel with minutes to go. There are times where I have paid for bags yet on collection they have no food and refunds aren't always given.

Great idea, I've actually saved money using this however! Most of the time I end up reserving & paying for an item to then turn up to either a closed restaurant or being told they didn't have any in the first place. Bit of a faff considering I'm only really saving £3 or £4 which if I'm honest, my time is worth more. Most times I end up just using just eat as it's guaranteed food. Easy fix, only allow orders when the shops closing and not 8 hours in advance.

I highly recommend this app! I've used it many times now and received lots of great food for great prices. It also helps my family to try new foods we wouldn't have usually bought. One thing that would hugely improve the app is to cater to allergies. There's currently no way to communicate allergies or preferences. It would also be helpful to be able to communicate more with the stores through the app, such as messaging them to mention allergies or quick questions.

Most useful for sampling a cafe before paying full whack and overall a great idea, most useful in larger conurbations. Out in the sticks it's a different story. Local providers, who always tended to inflate the original value of bags, have both raised prices and shrunk amounts. We live in inflationary times, but the app relies on trust, given that the bag is bought sight unseen. Individual providers will drop from your list, but this relies on a list long enough to be selective. Use carefully.

Simple app, easy to use. My only gripe is in the refunds when the store cancels. The amount of time it takes for that to be reimbursed. Would be good if the app would have a *pot* that said money was returned to so you could use it again, and save a refund. Or a top up pot, so you put the money in the pot first, so again it could be returned to there instead of waiting for a refund to use again. Just a thought.

This is a good way to get great food at a reasonable price, whilst also saving food from landfill. Never been disappointed. Although it is not possible to specify dietary choices, such as vegetarian, my experience has been that where possible they will make up suitable options if you tell them when you arrive. A wide range of places to choose the sort of food you enjoy and do good.

This app is fantastic - I've literally saved £100s since using it, allows me to get takeaway food a lot more often and he'll of a lot cheaper, dinner for two is now £7 instead of the £30 I'd usually spend and its good to know i'm preventing waste too. A great feature would be if I could choose from a list of ingredients in the filters and say "I don't like this" and that note could be passed on to the shop so there's a smaller chance of me receiving items I wouldn't eat.

Great app - Highly recommend! The app is easy to use and allows you to only provide the minimum for personal details. However, the app was so great that I selected to provide and save all my info for repeat orders and selected favorites. It shows restaurants available show the pick-up time frame for the items, which is great to plan a meal. I selected California Fish Grill in La Habra for 2 surprise bags. The sides were good and received a variety. The app has info on pick-up details / reminders

I like the app, and I had some good experiences with; unfortunately, the app doesn't give me the option to rate a restaurant when something goes wrong. On my case, the restaurant totally forgot about my order and closed the restaurant earlier. I took 2 buses to be there and will only receive my money back in 14 days!! I should receive my money back plus the bus. The restaurant was totally irresponsible and nothing will happen to them.

Disappointed vegetarian. What is the point of having the ability to register "vegetarian" in the profile/settings section? Not sure if I should bother with the app again (other than for clearly specified vegetarian offers) as there's no point in travelling to then receive inedible items. I was told I could cancel, but on the day was able to pass the bag on to a relative. Otherwise a great idea, just needs to reflect dietary requirements.

Attention TGTG | First, dark mode would be preferred. Second, a recent update which separated options has made the app cumbersome, annoying and frustrating to use. The update removed the "sold out" option from the filters menu. Now, the "sold out" and "today" filters are at two separate places. All the filters and options should be in one place. This is maddening and almost enough to not use TGTG. In addition, a box of donuts is not a meal. Stop sending notifications like this.

Very good app, BUT they need to filter the restaurants and BAN some of them who continue to serve expired and disgusting food. I have had several really good experiences with tasty food, but I also had a few with food that was already not good to be consumed, to the point that I had to spit it out of my mouth so bad it tasted and smelled awful. This is potentially an amazing savings app, but you lose those savings with the food that you have to throw away. Luckily there is a rating system in app
