Description of NCP

The NCP app combines all the features of our two previous apps in one convenient and easy-to-use place – offering the ability to:

• Purchase and access a digital Season Ticket, giving you the ability to manage your account with ease
• Ticketless pay-as-you-go parking at 370+ car parks across the UK, offering great app-only pricing

Make sure you download the fantastic NCP app before entering one of our car parks to guarantee the best experience and great prices.

Downloading the NCP app means you can purchase a digital monthly, quarterly and annual season tickets, depending on your needs. This season ticket will then be stored in app, meaning you will never forget or lose a physical season ticket again!

Features of the NCP app include:

• The ability to pay as you go and access your season ticket, if you have one, in one place – combining two apps into one
• Extend your parking session in-app to save you having to go back to your car – you will be notified by push notifications from the app so please ensure you have enabled Push in your device settings to stay up to date
• 1 QR code for ALL of your products
• Ability to favourite sites that you regularly visit in your favourites list
• AutoPay provides fully automatic recognition and payment at selected sites via your vehicle registration number (VRN)
• Map and list view of car parks with additional features
• Buy and pay for a season ticket within the app – meaning unlimited parking within your chosen site for the length of your ticket
• Most up-to-date pricing available through the app for season tickets and great app-only prices for pay as you go
• In-app chat function, giving you a direct line to customer service

Entered an unstaffed carpark only to discover it was app only once inside. I Installed the app and tried to set up a profile. Each time I tried, the promised email varification code never arrived. Tried on both my phone and my wife's, same issue. With no way to pay, I left the carpark after 10 minutes of fruitless attempts to pay. I have now received a fine from NCP. A quick Google reveals the email verification link to be a recurrent issue which NCP seem incapable of fixing.

I failed to create a record of my vehicle, several times. There's nothing I can do to fix this, info that it will be looked at, or why it failed. I can't use the app to park it seems until this magically fixes itself. Based on the time it took to give me an error, I'm assuming there's no local storage and my registration was being sent to an API somewhere for central logging... It'd be nice to know it'll be looked at and fixed without writing a review. New apps have teething problems though 🤞

Hard to USE. QR code not explained on the barrier or in the app itself. Ended up taking a ticket (hidden away at the bottom of the faqs it says not to do this. Too late) Then I chose car park in app and paid for three hours. On exit got QR but barrier won't accept. App changed car park I had paid in because it didn't recognise where I was. Attendant says gets hundreds of similar issues a week with app. DISASTER

Upgraded app but only allows one car to be added now rather than multiple. Meant to be an improvement and major add on to the last version. Seems to have gone backwards on application and graphics from the previous Park Pass one. Very poor especially for an app for a company whose parking charges are some of the highest. No option to log in using biometrics which was on old app either. All in extremely bad. If there was a 0 star option would certainly give that.

Pointless app. Going to delete it. Told to scan at barrier - can't get signal to bring QR code up so no alternative but to get a paper ticket and pay extra £3. Lots of signs about downloading app but seem a bit too late when you've had to take a ticket. Only other option seems to be getting a season pass. I had downloaded the app and set it all up in advance with payment detail and reg plate, so I didn't think there was going to be a problem. Simple solution - delete the app & avoid NCP.

Agree with other comments that having multiple cars was a useful feature now missing. Biggest problem is that I can't make a payment! Tells me it's timed out, this has happened past 3 times I've tried to use the app. I've even reinstalled and still doesn't work, so I've had to buy a paper ticket. What a waste of time!

Looked up my destination car park, app showed my reg details and a green autopay icon. Confirmed upon arrival at the car park that it had ANPR, and entered. Upon exiting noticed I was not charged for my parking. When someone finally replied to the Web chat, they told me autopay was not available at my car park, so the green icon meant nothing. Very bad design, but at least they waived my parking fee.

Don't know if the problems that others have are, well, a problem as I'm continually failing to clear the first hurdle. Received an email about new app to my registered email, downloaded app, attempt to login, password doesn't work. No problem, retrieve password. Guess what? No such user with that email address exists. But you sent me . . ! Right let's check in the old app. Reset password? Simply enter your OLD password and a new one. Do you see the problem? So one star as the download was fast.

Why you changed from an existing app that already works fine and was easy to navigate through and replace with one that's not user friendly and difficult to set up a parking session with is strange. Told me my password was wrong then wouldn't sync up with my bank even after a few attempts. Sadly doesn't look like I'm alone in my thoughts looking at other recent reviews. The new app definitely needs more work on it.

As other people have mentioned, you can no longer have multiple cars stored within the app and have to remember to change the registration number in settings each time you use a different car. Not only is this worse than the old app, but it makes no sense from a user point of view. The only benefit would be to NCP being able to fine people for not having the correct reg number paid for when parking. It seriously feels like a trap for users. Very poor.

Why did we all have to download a new app? Couldn't the new look have been released as an update to the old Park Pass app? New app: no tutorial; no option to delete a vehicle, and searching help for this topic returned zero results (I could end up paying parking charges for the guy I sold my old car to!) Customer helpline connects you to the Philippines: I had very poor connecton, and an exaggerated American accent with a Filipino edge is hard to catch – and they speak so slowly and over-polite!

I got an e-mail saying my existing NCP app would expire soon and to download the new one. The link in the e-mail resolved to a version that was incompatible with all my devices, so I had to search for this through the Google Store. I am beginning to wish I hadn't bothered. The old version has a useful map, helping you to choose the car park you want. The old version lets you toggle auto pay on and off. The old version lets you save multiple vehicles. All this has been stripped away. Why?

I may be missing something, but there doesn't appear to be a 4 pin option to open the app as with the previous version. At the moment to open the app you have to input email address and then password. Much more convenient and speedy at the barrier with a pin. Any chance of bringing that back? Only 1 star as I haven't used the new version yet.

It's worse than the previous app. It certainly was not written "with all the abilities of the previous two apps" as advertised. Why was it written without the ability to add more than one car? I probably won't use it for that very reason. The address entry for payment method lacks the ability to enter commas, which makes my address look wrong, nor the ability to put spaces in the postcode. Whoever decided this app was finished/better should hang their head in shame.

Unbelievable! Why someone replace their working system with something so unpractical. I have multiple cars registered in the previous app, which was perfect. Now the que of people waiting behind you while you are trying to register the car you travelled with behind the barrier... how this was supposed to be practical and technologically advanced, making peoples lives easier. If anything, we moved back in time.

This is supposed to do 'everything the old app could do and more'. No it can't. In the old app I could have both my vehicles, this app only allows one. You have to create a 2nd profile using a different email address and then log out and back in to pay for the 2nd vehicle. Installation was a nightmare as well. Don't say it has more features when it has less. Edit after reply from NCP. I did contact you. You told me I could only have one car in this version! Not much help really.

I used the gateless Capital carpark Liverpool for an overnight stay. This is the 1st time i have used the system, and it did not work. It did not register my car leaving. The app did not work. The chatbot was pointless. The online payment system didn't recognise my Reg. I had someone contact me by email and said i had 30secs to respond. Today after significant hair pulling it took me 2hrs 9mins to sort it over the phone. No, we are sorry the cost is waived. My option was to pay. Utter Rubbish

Can only add one car. This is nonsense. Much worse than the old app. Probably won't bother using NCP carparks anymore. Incompetent developers. In response to your feedback: what a stupid workaround. Incompetent development. In response to your feedback: it's too late, my wife set up a separate account. Your incompetence in app creation remains unpresidented.
