I used to love this app until they changed it to the Pro subscription. Even though I paid for pro, every time I'm offline for an extended period, I lose my extra bookmarks and maps. And of course, this is right when I need it most. I will be moving to Organic Maps instead. Don't waste your money on the pro subscription!!

Has some UI usability issues. While doing a search on a street, it's very unresponsive when I press on the street that has already come up in the search results. Also, no way to enter a street number. Which seems pretty basic and shocking that it doesn't allow user to specify a street number! Disappointing. I just spent 20 minutes trying to enter in the address of a location. Suggest you hire some UI designers and product managers to do a better job redesigning this app, to be user friendly and make it easy for users to do simple things, like actually entering in an address! In response to Developer's "fixing" the 2 missing EXAMPLE addresses I listed, that's like a drop in the ocean. The problem is NOT simply that it couldn't locate the 2 EXAMPLE addresses I listed. The problem is deeper. It was unable to properly locate an arbitrary, VALID, address. This is something Google Maps can do EASILY. Based on this rather GLARING defect, I think this largely makes this app unusable for general purpose navigation..

I'm very frustrated by the latest update. When opening the app, it always auto-zooms to the same location, where I happened to be two months ago rather than my most recent location. I either need to zoom and pan or wait two minutes to get a GPS fix. Also when previewing a route, the start button covers the trail profile. If you try to swipe the huge menu out of the way to preview the route, the route now disappears. I love the app, hate the updates.

Search can not find basic places such as "Trenton, New Jersey" or "New York City, NY". When you finally get a start and end point loaded, it doesn't provide directions (ie: "Drive north on I-25 for 23 miles. Take exit 123 for Route 66 east") - it only seems to function in turn-by-turn navigation mode requiring the GPS to be on.

Great app but a few bugs. Sometimes compass and distance bar don't show up. But the biggest annoyance is the wholly inaccurate elevation profile. While the highest and lowest elevations are likely to be correct, the distance between peaks and troughs is not to scale at all. Also the favourite pins sometimes block letters of the place names.

Change their business model to a subscription. I purchased this app for all my devices Android and iOS. At the time there where no additional fees, ads or subscriptions. Now this app has ads and to get rid of them you have to pay a monthly subscription. They changed the rules in the middle of the game, I'm deleting it from all my devices. This app works offline after you download maps. Searching for an address is not good. You can import KMZ files, such as places you've mark in Goolge Maps.

Until recently it was a 5 star app, but a recent update has corrupted one of the best and most practical apps out there. I paid for the subscription, but in my case it crashes during use on both a Samsung A10, and a Motorola G Power. Also, even though I have downloaded maps for each region I need, Maps.me continually asks me to re-download them again. Very frustrating. I expect the developers will fix the issues, and hopefully very soon.

Unusable: used to be an amazing offline map. A few times when travelling to less popular spots where Google Map was completely wrong and got me lost, I was saved by maps.me. Have used it in 35+ countries & the driving directions are also great. However, the current version simply does not work. I keep getting a "no available space" error when trying to add new maps (two different devices, both with plenty of space in system and SD card). Tried to reinstall: now the downloaded maps have no roads.

great, free offline map app. If you're on wifi you can search locations and easily add them to your maps (I've struggled with this using only cellular data in foreign countries). I don't know if it's a feature yet, but I haven't been able to enter in coordinates and add pins for them -- this feature would bump it up to 5 stars! User friendly, good app!

Overall usefull for navigating, especially metros. The search function is pretty weak, it does not pull up places even though they are listed on the map. I will keep using the app, but something I hope they fix is the map recentering on the last geo location in offline mode/no signal. Its pretty annoying if everytime you open the app you lose sight of your location because your last phone detected location is in a different town or even country.

Nice offline maps app. Has been improving and adding more information to the maps consistently over the years. Good app to have when cell signal is bad. The trick is to download the maps of areas you will need, ahead of time, when you do have good data signal. I wish the border lines were thicker. And the fonts larger. Adding a Topo layer would be excellent.

I really loved this app for navigating overseas via downloading the area map while on wifi and exploring the region just using the GPS function to get routes to destinations. But as of late, the app seems to avoid bridges by directing me to take exit then get back on the freeway again and has tricked me a few times into taking the exit which cost time and fuel to get back up to speed. I am currently looking for a replacement to this app, seems I have paid a few dollars to skip adds which is no big deal. I will probably keep the app just for the waypoints I have saved. I love the fact that I can save Costco fuel locations as a yellow pin for fuel and hotels as blue, parks as green, etc. The other bug is the voice prompt tells me to take a left turn when the map shows I need to take a right turn.

I needed maps for Italy. My first thought was to download Google Maps for Italy, but the most Google would let me download was about 1/3 of the country. Plus, Google Maps doesn't provide a way to create pages of waypoints/bookmarks, let alone individual pages for individual cities. Maps.Me let me easily download all of Italy (or other countries) and create lists of waypoints/bookmarks for each city we plan to visit. I didn't discover until later that Maps.me also generally (but not always) provides better detail at maximum zoom than downloaded Google maps. For example, Maps.me shows hiking trails entirely missing from Google. So, getting this one was an easy decision. A suggestion to Maps.me: if possible, consider letting users filter out extraneous information, like bus stops, apartment buildings, etc. The reason I say this is sometimes I would do a search, for example for a museum, using the App and it would turn up things like 2 or even 3 bus stops, street names, apartment buildings, grocery stores, and everything else containing the search term. But notice I still gave it 5 stars, since this is so much better than I've seen elsewhere.

Maybe the best option if you need offline navigation, but very clunky and bloated, and the maps aren't styled well either. Keeps nagging me to use online features that I don't want, and last I checked was taking forever to open if I was online but had slow internet, which is absurd for an app that's supposed to be primarily for offline use. If you just want to look at offline maps (not get directions), use Mapy.cz or OsmAnd instead. You're welcome.

Weird. I live in Colorado, it doesn't let to download new places even though they exist. If the place you want to go to is not recognized, the app shows you a cartoon fox... With a shoe... Probably, it means something deep, but it would be easier to say 'sorry, can't find it'. And again, why not? Even with an internet it's impossible to create a route. Also, all fancy features 'photo spots', 'nightlife' etc. work only for a very limited list of random cities. Didn't find it helpful or reliable.

I'm pretty impressed! This is the first app I found that is a map that works offline right off the bat. That said, you do have to download detailed area maps if you want any kind of detail. But as far as countries and cities it seems to do okay. The terrain map layer though is inaccurate, I know the elevation that I live at is around 3,000 ft above sea level, but the topo map lines for the terrain map show it has about 900 ft. That's quite a difference if you ask me! UPDATE: it's meters not feet

Is a great overall app. I love being able to contribute places to it so I can feel like I'm part of the improvement of it, however small. My only gripe so far is that, for navigation, your destination MUST be a searchable place - it will not accept just a bare address (such as for a place that isn't yet in there, a residence, etc). With this kind of limitation, it can never be a true replacement for Google maps. Maybe they never meant it to be.

Had this app for many years and it has been invaluable for travel abroad, camping, bike touring. That being said, it can be very frustrating to use, and updates will frequently break the functionality of the app. "Download area map" notifications that cannot be removed and obscure map data, randomly losing map data and bookmarks that are in phone memory...it's a frustrating experience. I know you're finding ways to monetize (which is valid) but can you not break what made it so great?
