USING THE TIER APP
TIER electric scooters, bikes and mopeds give you the freedom to explore your city and to get where you need to be in a smart, safe, and sustainable way. Simply open the app and rent a ride with a few simple steps.

HOW TO START A TIER E-SCOOTER & GET GOING
✅ Download the TIER app, sign up, and add your preferred payment method
✅ Find a TIER scooter near you on the map
✅ Scan the QR code on the scooter to unlock it and start a ride
✅ Push the e-scooter forward to flick the kickstand back
✅ Put one foot on the board and push off with the other
✅ Push down the throttle to gain speed
✅ Let go of the throttle or use the brakes to slow down.
✅ Surf your city and enjoy the ride!

HOW TO END YOUR RIDE
✅ Find a safe place to park the scooter and flick the kickstand down
✅ Open the TIER app and tap 'End Ride'
✅ Get out there and live your best life!

Bristol had a good escooter system with Voi. However, some greedy councillor made the decision to switch to Tier and the experience for the user has been a step backwards. Bristol is extremely hilly. Voi handled the hills well, and autolimited speed down hills. Tier scooters are useless up hill and rely on you using substandard brakes down hill. However, even more annoying are the number of scooters that appear available on app and actually aren't when you scam them. useless.

I was going to try the e-bikes in Bath, but the map shows the canal towpath is disallowed, which leaves me no route to use except for an unsafe and unappealing main road. Maybe this map was developed for the scooters and needs updating for bikes? I can't see any reason why the towpath shouldn't be allowed for bikes - many people cycle there all the time.

Dear god it's bad. Very few scooters about. Walked some distance to one. Takes 3 scooters (listed on the map as available) before I find one that works. Scooter is a lot slower than the VOI ones (I did check that newbie mode wasn't enabled) and it would frequently randomly decide to stop working and need to be pushed. In the end it randomly stopped entirely and applied brakes. App seemed to think I never booked a scooter at all. Threw it in a bush and walked the rest of the way.

The worst rated app. Its full of bugs. Won't verify my driving license. If it does then it won't take my photo to verify. The app crashes. The best thing would be not to try at all.

App is so glitchy and there are so many areas of improvement. For example, I don't think you can tell if a parking zone is full or not until you actually get there and try to end the ride? No ride zones in Bristol are set up terribly so you'd be riding along a big road then the app thinks you're in a no ride zone when you're not, so you end up holding up a bunch of cars behind you.

A joke of an application. I don't know how developers pushed this application out. The bike seat was busted, so when I tried to report it as a problem, the option doesn't exist. Then, the customer support link just displays a connection error every time you try and connect to support to relay the problem. How did the engineers get hired?

Fee is rising and quality is dropping. Significant portion of the scooters is damaged, borderline dangerous to drive (Krakow). Parking is a scam - some spots are full but app does not show this information at any point, so you will be forced to drive from one parking to another checking whether or not you can actually finish the ride wasting time - support agent assured me app should change the colour of icon when the parking is full, which is not true (app is/was updated).

Absolute rubbish! Choose one of the other providers that allow flexibility in parking. I got to my destination and tried ending the session and it would just not work. No message or info about why the session wasnt ending. I wasted 15 minutes trying to move to different areas and at the end went to a place where lots of other scooters were parked. That meant a 15 mins walk back to where I needed to get to. Would have been easier to just walk.

Great availablity and prices. Pretty comfortable, well built and maintained scooters as well. Although parking sometimes can be a hassle, some are too far or course numbers of them in an area. Some might even be too crowded telling you to "park in a different parking spot" which will then making you drive more minutes/having to walk from them more.

Can only park in specific spots but you can't see those spots on the map?? I dont understand how they could miss such an obvious feature. Also got suck on an infinite loading screen after scanning my license.

I liked TIERs...until I didn't. Before TIER there was another scooter company around, that by the time shrinked its riding zones and made some poor and inconvenient choices. Then I switched for TIER, new and revolutionary. As time passes, it follows the same sh*tty ways. Most frustrating are parking zones. They ain't clear to indicate while riding, GPS is sometimes off for any reason. Give us new scooters and let these pass away

I paid for a day pass. I did the first ride for 15m no issues. Then with a really tight schedule that day that involved a flight the app asked for identity card confirmation. I had 2 suitable cards fortunately. But the app got stuck in verifying. I wasted around 30m trying to verify around 30m trying to deal with customer services. Result: abandonment of tier pass and reliance on good old fashioned and excellent Lyon public transport system. Would tier refund me my day pass? Absolute refusal.

I can't get the app to accept any form of payment, my partner had the same problem. Help chat advised me to use apple pay which I don't have. Am now waiting for someone to get back to me within 24 hours, all doesn't seem as smooth and effortless as Voi, I hope the problems get sorted quickly.

I was used to a competitor's e-scooters, but they were removed from Paris, so used Tier tonight. Cruise control kept accelerating to 22 km/h then braking to 20 km/h. I bought a 20 min pass, but when I started the ride, it showed the standard ride price, so I was concerned the whole way that my pass wouldn't work (it did in the end). At some point during the ride, the scooter braked and I had to push it for 8 min against the braking. I think it was because I was next to a new red no-parking zone.

Choose anything else, but this. Picked up a bike and it turned out to be faulty - basically had to pedal it manually, which is bad on an electric bike. Then I wanted to park it just a few meters away from where I picked it up, but apparently that's a no parking zone so had to take it few hundred meters away just to park it. Got charged £3 for nothing. Also every other scooter ride was rubbish because of one issue or another. Not recommended 👎👎👎

The app is fine, the bike service less than stellar. Parking coverage in London is frustrating and not available in key areas. If you're traveling into London chances are won't be able to park at your destination.

Customer service, app and the rides are all awful. I bought a monthly pass and can't unlock most bikes with it, the QR code doesn't work, neither does typing in the code. If it does allow me to unlock a bike it will take at least ten minutes to unlock and the same time to lock it after use, wasting most of the pass minutes. When I do manage to unlock a bike they sometimes stop working in the middle of a ride and won't let me reconnect. Asked for a refund but they refused.

App works well, but... Be aware that you have limited parking spots for the scooters, you cannot park in any regular parking spots or other company spots. So I took it to save time, went to a very popular location and found that the parking spot closest was 5 min far by the scooter and 17 min walking! It was supposed to be practical and time saving. But you have to check parking spots in the area first. So is the same mental work of figuring out public transportation, but pricier.
