Chronically dysfunctional. Regularly sends error messages when nothing is wrong with the unit, most times preventing it from starting a cleaning cycle. I have to wait to get home (we have it on schedule to run while at work) to manually reset it to get the Roomba to do its job because the app has no way to clear false error reports. No, the Roomba is not stuck. No, the Roomba does not need to be emptied. It just doesn't do its job entirely because this app is useless.

Love it! Cleans great. Being able to create a schedule and not think about it is awesome. And I really like that I don't have to constantly stop and clean brushed like with the old model. Update 5/26/23: I seen to be having problems with the map function. "D2" can't seem to find his way to anywhere, even to the dock. Instead of going to the kitchen, he runs around a different room until his battery runs down. I tell him to go home and he gets close, then wanders off and gets lost. Frustrating!

Can't really give a review on the app's functionality since I never managed to actually make it function. My Roomba wasn't on the list, so I used the "find my device" option. Even with a strong Wi-Fi connection, it took almost 15 minutes for it to locate and finally connect. I was immediately advised an update was necessary, which never finished. If I clicked away from the app, it restarted. If my screen timed out, it restarted. I finally gave up after 32 minutes of it doing absolutely nothing.

This is an app that after many years still has room for improvement. It does not give alerts if the units cannot properly dock. The time it takes to communicate with my 3 units can take more than 30 seconds which to me feels excessively slow. It often has error messages on the devices that are not reflected in the app. There is no easy way in the app to look up an unrecorded (in the app) error message.

Overall good but some improvements I would like to see are... A way to place a barrier other places besides between rooms. I have 2 places in my house where the floor drops down about 2 in. I want to be able to place barriers there so Roomba doesn't drop down to that level, because it's not able to get back up and it can't map it because it gets stuck and doesn't finish. Also, I thought this had the ability to take pics to let me identify them. It picks up all the cat toys!

Update: the app is not crashing anymore! The maps are integrated now and working better. Navigation of the device itself has been sketchy lately, and it seems to be getting lost in my dining room on a regular basis! Initial review 3 stars The app is pretty good. It is good at launching and scheduling jobs. However, it tends to crash when working with the maps, and I haven't been able to integrate several areas. The maps are not intuitive.

Great idea, but it just doesn't work well. Setting up dividers is tedious. Saving divider changes takes a long time. I created a job to clean a selected room. It did attempt to clean that room , but it also cleaned the other areas. App does a good job at showing the map, but the vacuum doesn't seem to adhere to the map at all.

App allows full control of j6+. Maps with dividers, keep out zones and clean areas are awesome. The hardest part is getting your house mapped. Highly recommend you use the mapping only feature for first time or adding rooms or new maps. Vacuuming AND exploring new large areas take too long, with more errors. Once map is explored and created, definitely use the zones, areas and dividers to get a great experience. The auto help and messages, makes it very easy to correct issues, when encountered.

Do NOT download the update! Since the update, the app doesn't accurately show what room it's in. A 38 minute charge time didn't change time in over an hour. The robot didn't charge either. The new message constantly pops up and there are never any messages. It's a complete mess. I wish I could go back to the last version. This may be the last straw for roomba and me.

It won't let me change the cleaning schedule, it won't delete or disable the current routine and doesn't save any other routine I create. Quite frustrating, app is up to date and everything works otherwise but can't change the cleaning routine. I've also re-created the map several times, yet it persists in cleaning the wrong area. For example, I set it to clean the living room and it will wander the hall or kitchen instead.

Works pretty well. I wish the app would let you adjust the Robots battery charge threshold for return to home. My roomba I7+ often dies just a few feet before reaching the docking station, so i have to go pick it up and manually dock it. Of course, I then have to wait for it to charge before I can do anything else with it.

The app is a bit glitchy, however, it does work for the most part. I have more than one robot and sometimes the tab doesn't refresh when switching robots. I keep getting a "not available, try again later" message when I click on the product health button. Reporting issues in the app appears to do nothing. There's never any feedback from reports and there's no visibility of known issues or what issues on currently being worked on to be resolved.

I love the roomba j7+, but...all of a sudden it doesn't work. I open the app and the only thing showing is new job. I'm not sure if it's the app or the vacuum. For days it showed can't connect now. Now pretty much a blank screen. But it's frustrating. These things aren't cheap. I'm not getting much help from customer support. 😒 UPDATE: There is something definitely wrong with the app. can not connect right now is getting OLD! PLEASE FIX ASAP

More often than not, it doesn't clean in the order it's supposed to, doesn't always dock after it completes a job, undocks well after a completed job and sits there, completely draining the battery, goes back and forth 'cleaning' 2 rooms at the same time (this shouldn't happen with the s9+ model), and so much more! I've reset it, rebooted, remapped, etc. multiple times, with no success. I just now looked at the job history and realized it's not even keeping accurate track of when it cleaned!!!!!

The Roomba works more or less as expected, but could use some improvements. The moving map needs to show where the device is, and where it has been. The diagnostics are not very helpful, for instance the "cannot connect" remedies do not work to remove the fault, and the space to clean selection is not working as expected - I cannot select just one area and tell it to go; it wants me to declare a favorite first. I have more comments but a cell telephone is a lousy input device.

It's really easy to use. Super customizable. I love that I have all the features I could need and more. The map features let you set zones in your home to either focus on cleaning really well, or avoiding. I haven't utilized the favorites option because it's easier to just pick which rooms I want to clean on-the-fly. It took pictures that it was stuck and sent me a message while I was work. I wished I could help it 😅. Love this thing so much.

The app works ok. It sometimes is slow to connect to the robot when on different networks. The smart mapping works decently. It can be slow to show you a map after a mapping run, and doesn't tell you why the map isn't available yet. But eventually the map shows up and is usable. I wish the app would show where the robot currently is on the map.

The app takes several minutes to open (if it doesn't crash first). I have two Roomba's, which lose connection with the app about every two weeks. I have to manually reset them and setup up the network which is getting old really fast. In addition, they will run at random times on the days they are scheduled to run. I'm not impressed with irobot and will be returning them and going with another brand.
