Description of MyChart

MyChart puts your health information in the palm of your hand and helps you conveniently manage care for yourself and your family members. With MyChart you can:

• Communicate with your care team.
• Review test results, medications, immunization history, and other health information.
• Connect your account to Google Fit to pull health-related data from your personal devices right into MyChart.
• View your After Visit Summary® for past visits and hospital stays, along with any clinical notes your provider has recorded and shared with you.
• Schedule and manage appointments, including in-person visits and video visits.
• Get price estimates for the cost of care.
• View and pay your medical bills.
• Securely share your medical record from anywhere with anyone who has Internet access.
• Connect your accounts from other healthcare organizations so you can see all your health information in one place, even if you've been seen at multiple healthcare organizations.
• Receive push notifications when new information is available in MyChart. You can check whether push notifications are enabled under the Account Settings within the app.

Note that what you can see and do within the MyChart app depends on which features your healthcare organization has enabled and whether they’re using the latest version of Epic software. If you have questions about what’s available, contact your healthcare organization.

To access MyChart, you must create an account with your healthcare organization. To sign up for an account, download the app and search for your healthcare organization or go to your healthcare organization’s MyChart website. After you’ve signed up, turn on fingerprint authentication or set up a four-digit passcode to quickly log in without needing to use your MyChart username and password each time.

It is decent, but not user-friendly for blood cancer patients. The amount of empty test data or blood transfusions is unmanageable. Very disorganized. Data is not searchable, not organizable. Biopsies and scans mixed up with blood test results. Appointments notification are insane. We have over 2000 notifications! No way to mass delete or archive in a separate folder.

I enjoy being able to see information, appointments, and other medical information from both Sparrow and Corewell in one place. The office can send you reminders. I also like the fact I can look at all my medical information in one place. Pay Bills here also. It just makes health-care easier. I get blood work results before my primary. I can also graph the results over a period of time to see if there are drastic changes or when my cholesterol trended up. It's very helpful. I love it.

What a PAIN! When looking in messages for Optum Tri, I keep getting Network Error messages. This is an app issue, not organization. This DOES NOT happen on Apple devices, ONLY on Android. I've been waiting for a couple years for a fix, & NOTHING!! My iPad is wifi only, so I have to wait until I get home to read my medical messages, which could be days depending on where my business takes me. I should be able to read my messages on my Android phone as I am easily able to do on my iPad. Obnoxious!

This app is great for contacting your doctors office for a variety of reasons. It does depend on how well an individual provider uses it of course. My PCP and specialist both respond quickly to any messages. What is also great is that test results are also displayed so I can get the results same time as my doctors so I don't need to wait for another appointment to get the results.

Only as good as the data added in. I can only see a patchy medical record and would rather have everything or nothing visible in such an app. The UX needs improving. When going through the various requests to input current medications, allergies, etc, once you select done there's no way to go back and add more. This has meant that while my husband distracted me I accidentally pressed 'Done' and now can't add in a medical condition I have.

This app was easy to load and information is very easy to access. I really appreciate being able to use a four number Passcode to access my information. Thank you. Addendum I deal with three different hospital groups. I can reach each group easily. However, I don't understand why I must put in another password when I switch from one to another. It is quite frustrating and makes me want to give up. I'm sure you can make this easier. Thanks.

MyChart has been immeasurably valuable to me as someone with a variety of chronic medical conditions. Having ALL healthcare providers' info, appointments (that can be added to my calendar with all details with only the press of a button!), documentation, records, meds, and pharmacy info all in one place is amazing. Simple, navigable, effective UI makes a difference. If your provider uses MyChart, you'll likely appreciate taking advantage of it.

Incredible!!! A perfect example of how software can help progress the human condition. This app is very efficient in the way it organizes and presents your health information, and facilitate communication with your providers. Im aware that the data exchanged in this app is crucial to people, and even though I'm not absolutely knowledgeable about it's background activities, I don't feel exploited with the use of this app.

Having problems and wants me to reload a lot and often. Keeps files well. Having trouble between connections of different hospitals that all use MyChart app. Unable to connect or allow, "having difficulty" is the error I usually receive. Otherwise good. But low rating to get someone to fix it. HAVING DIFFICULTY

Really good at some things, really redundant about others. I expect the app works differently at different places, but constant reminders about vaccines that aren't needed, sooner appointments that aren't available by the time you open the app get annoying. The pre-vosit questionnaires are clunky and have either too many options or too few ways to answer. Filling out forms where you have to type in your own name and information multiple times feels ridiculous in this day and age.

MyChart makes all my medical care so convenient! All upcoming appointments and test results in one place. I can also schedule appointments, make payments, or ask questions to any of my doctors directly through the app. It's easy to use, and I receive text notifications anytime something needs my attention. If you're not using it, you're truly missing out.

For the most part I like this app. I DO NOT like being wakened at 2:08 AM to be told I have a new questionnaire. I hate doing questionnaires anyway. The app sends me these messages at least every other week! Please change the send time! It is nice to see test results and be able to look at x-rays fairly quickly. I like being able to send a question to one of my doctors when I need information. I like my appointments listed and easy to find. I like seeing my immunization record online.

Keeps me in touch with my providers in a very unobtrusive way - so much better than phone calls on hold for an eternity with obnoxious unoffensive music and repeated, "Your call is very important to us..." Sometimes the limited options for "what do you need today..." menus will make it difficult to navigate/Get to "right" options, but we are used to that.

Password & login are extremely glitchy. Often (everytime) I have to reset login credentials through my or my children's HC provider, after an update, and even then sometimes remain locked out. That said, setting up, and using Biometrics is a bit of a workaround, for now..But haven't updated again yet after setting them up, so we'll have to see... Overall, the apps importance & convenience are obvious, so 3 stars that.. Login functionality are the only issues that I've experienced..

I've had a good experience overall. When trying to read charts or navigate on the phone it can sometimes be a bit difficult to read the complete chart. But that is due to the limited space available on the screen at any one time and if they made the pring any smaller to allow more chart on the page at a time I would no longer be able to read it, so it just is what it is. I find it a very useful way for my doctor and me to communicate. I recommend it for folks with an android phone.

I love the convenience, security, and easy to use interface. Coordinating my appointments by sending them to my calendar is so simple. The e-check in and appointment arrival features make checking in fast and easy. Quick access to test results and provider messages with ease provides the icing on the cake. This is a wonderful app, and I highly recommend it for anyone with ongoing medical needs.

I think the features are well thought out and there's a clear UI/UX, however, there are bugs. Especially with linked accounts. It's possible this is due to the different hospitals and systems involved. It isn't significant enough where I can't navigate the app, but it adds unnecessary steps to get around that I feel might be confusing to less tech savvy patients.

Works most of the time. Seems unnecessarily complicated in many areas. There seem to be multiple versions which are slightly different, and clicking on a link sent in an email brings up a version different from the one installed on my phone. Both of these are different from the version opened in a computer browser.
