Upgraded from Pixel 3 to 6 Pro because it was said that the camera was incredible. It is only incredible if you want to take quick shots to share on social media. The camera turns out overprocessed overly compressed images. The most frustrating thing is Google doesn't care enough about their users to allow the processing and configuration to be adjusted. Google knows better than us I guess (not!). And on top of that features like photosphere disappearing. I'll never buy another Google phone.

Yes, it is difficult to take a non-blurry 50MP photo on the 8 Pro, no matter the lighting, without a tripod. Even in daylight, "hold still" is required for a good chunk of a second. But Google simply pulled back the curtain on how all smartphones operate. Capturing accurate color data at a shutter speed of, say, 1/125 or 1/250 s, at 50MP, requires a DSLR with a real lens and a full frame sensor. 50 or 250(lol) MP are advertising #s. Pro Mode and 50MP shooting rocks; it just requires a tripod.

Autofocus AI is garbage. Good luck taking a picture through a window or in any specialized circumstance! The AI is clueless on what you're trying to focus on. Latest update made photo sphere crash the app. Great job devs. Also, the post processing is completely superfluous. It turns candid, atmospheric photos into some high contrast shitshow. Give us an option to turn it off, and give us an option to have a focus slider.

It doesn't work well anymore. My biggest issue is that it won't focus properly when I first launch the camera app. Everything is blurry and I have to either cover the lens for a second or tap other buttons to get it to focus. By then, I've lost important, quick picture moments that I was trying to capture. Super frustrating! I've also noticed for months that it often won't properly focus on things and will heavily blur close surroundings too much.

As others have mentioned, this used to be a great camera but it's now unable to take a crisp photo. No matter if it's a wide, far shot or close up, the photo had weird blurred spots. I can't take a picture of anyone without some portion of them being blurred due to what I assume is the app's attempt to "focus on the right thing". In family pictures either a person gets blurred or everyone's legs and the background get blurred. There's no way to turn off auto blurring and retouching.

Macro used to be great. Now it can't focus on the spot I select, or is just blurry, regardless of the distance from the subject. Under overcast skies, it really struggles to focus. I should not have installed the previous update and will not be installing the current one. I don't want a bunch of post processing. Just good photos, like I was able to take using this app for many years. Menu for making adjustments is now in the center of the screen since. In the way. Prevents seeing the subject

This has long been my favorite camera app, but as of late its been driving me absolutely mad. It seems to always focus on the wrong depth, and choose the wrong camera (P7Pro), often simultaneously. I get better results in mid range shots by purposefully focusing on something other than the subject. I'm sure the team behind the app is working hard. If I had to guess, google needs to give them more support to do their job, as this app is nearly single handedly eliminating the pixels party trick.

I've been disappointed with this app lately. I use a pixel pro 6 for reference, so I'd expect pretty decent results. Firstly, the camera is unreliable when it comes to focusing. This is by far the biggest issue and has caused me to miss some great shots, even when I'm tapping the area to focus. Next, it sometimes doesn't switch to the right lens, especially the zoom lens. Lastly, it over-saturates things like sunsets, and there is no way to override the processing. Hoping they can fix soon.

This camera has been a disappointment. It over processes photos, and I cannot reduce the amount of processing. Try taking a picture of a tv show. It looks fine in the preview, but then processes it and faces become overexposed. Often images look good when I take the photo, and then it processes it into fake looking lighting. And why can't I change the aspect ratio of a video? It fills the entire screen. I should be able to change it to 4:3 or 16:9. This is basic!

It over processes photos such as black points, shadows, and skin tones. The camera has an option to retouch and smooth face but when you take a picture and the photo is automatically processed, the retouching goes out the window. What is the point of the face retouching feature if it is not going to work.

The pixel's camera was originally one of my favorite things about this phone. I don't know when they decided to add automatic face retouching to selfies but I absolutely hate this feature and wish there was a way to disable it. It distorts images and essentially eliminates facial features and definition/contrast. Google doesn't seem to be listening to it's users and now the camera is the one reason I would consider switching back to Apple.

My Pixel 6 Pro might or might not focus. Most often it will focus past the subject and focus on the background no matter how many times you tap on the screen. I tried taking a picture of a flower today. I got a nice clear picture of the leaves behind it. I tried it in portrait mode, with and without zoom. I tried the telephoto camera. No matter what I tried, it wouldn't focus on the flower. I bought the phone for the camera, but it has been a glitchy disappointment.

One of the most basic functions of a smartphone camera is to focus on the subject, and this is where the Google Pixel phones and camera app falls short. No matter how many times I tap to focus, it seems like a game of chance whether the camera will lock onto the subject. This inconsistency has resulted in countless missed photo opportunities, blurry shots, and unusable videos which is incredibly frustrating for someone who values capturing dope moments and experiences. Please add manual focusing

the recent updates were horrible, it used to be a good app, but it's getting problematic with each updates. First, the net processing after you take the shot is terrible. I notice at one point that it stops sharpening my photos and now it even turns it into blurry color blocks. The second issue I read on the other reviews too, is that it disabled the manual focus.

Pixel 7. Bought the phone because I was pregnant and wanted the best camera around. It's awful now. It is constantly freezing on me, to where it takes a while to even let me take a photo. Like you click the shutter button and nothing happens. It's also been skipping in a lot of videos. I'll go back to play them and the video freezes. The sound works but image stops. It is a permanent error and does not fix itself when shared. I wish I never bought the phone.

My Google pixel 7 pro camera takes amazing pictures looks just like real life... But then a few seconds after you take the picture if you click on it it will show that it's processing photo and it adds some kind of filter that makes your photo look awful and the colors looks completely wrong. It would be an amazing camera if they could somehow get rid of the processing!!! My pixel 4 didn't have it either until a recent update and that one also took amazing pictures until the processing update.

Ever since the update my camera struggles to autofocus. I tap on what I want focused and it doesn't do anything. Sometimes the only way to get it to actually focus is to use my fingers to zoom in and it will sometimes snap into focus. I've also had trouble with the shutter button actually registering when I press it causing me to miss really great moments. I am very disappointed.

Pixel 6. Since the last update there has been a major problem with the camera and app interface. When the screen turns off and back on there's like an unusable image of the app I was using. I have to open the app switcher and close the first app and the second app is the functional one. Very weird error. For the camera double tapping the power button doesn't work much anymore. And the same error I brought up above also effects the camera app. Very annoying.
