Weather Routing takes your start and end points then calculates your route factoring in tides, currents, wind and wave data, depth and your boats unique dimensions to give you the best route for comfort or speed.

Comprehensive wind, waves, and weather information

Good weather app for sailing. Currently using the basic free version so no comments on the other enhanced functions. But what I've got is good, and the seems fairly a accurate as regards the forecast weather to what you actually see out of the window.

Although not perfect by any means. The world is a big place with a myriad of challenges for weather predictions. Still, PredictWind is what I consider one of the best. After 48 years as an international pilot, I like to think I know a little about meteorology. The nice thing is I've always found PredictWind to be responsive to particular requests. Maybe because I can speak the language.

For 5th time in a month I have had to reinstall Predictwind. Freezes, wont update, wont scroll, each time the same. Used it for last 4 years perfecty. All other apps on phone working fine. Contacted you 3 times with zero response. Useless app at the moment, not recommended at all

Last time this app updated, it froze. After the recent update, nothing appears. No tables, no wind maps, nothing. Predict Wind seems to become non functional each time the app updates. They need to work on their programing. Removed from device. Not happy.

Review grifting Edit: Sorry for the short review initially. I was forced to create this review in order to use the app, thus I did not put much care into writing it. What I mean by review grifting is when an app begs for reviews by sending the user to the app store and begging for a review. Normally this is a mild annoyance and not much of a problem. Unfortunately in this particular instance the developer has chosen to force users to go the play store every single time the app is opened until a review is placed (which I have now done, as requested). This significantly impacts the functionality of the app and is very hostile behaviour. Some more details: This app has been set up to not beg for a review for the first few times you use the app. But once it does start begging it waits a few seconds after the app is opened, and then sends the user to the play store. Even after the user clicks "Not now" the app still attempts to open the play store every time, but then it closes immediately. Because this doesn't happen immediately after the app is started it is extremely disruptive (every time this happened to me I was in the middle of zooming in on the map). The only way to stop this behaviour is to place a review.

As any forecast app it is really good at 72 hour window.. it takes some getting used to first week or two but once familiarity develops it makes planing sail outings really simple and fast. I still have not used all of possible features but weather winds and tides have shown to be reliable so far.

Terribly overpriced. I need to do weather routing. Indeed they used to offer it reasonably. Folks: forget weather routing. NO BASIC ACCESS for that . They instead refuse it and try to sell you an offer $600-$1200 annually. I don't care about their gribs, I can get those elsewhere and with a more dependable resolution. I didn't realize buying the basic these days is now a BAIT AND SWITCH. I now get to WISH I could do weather routing like they used to offer. Disgusting.

Easy to use and mostly accurate but not all of the time. My only issue is that the slider bar to show the wind speed at different times is too small and too sensitive. A larger slider would solve the problem.

It would be nice if temperature we were included. A more serious shortcoming is that the data is not cached. Each time you open the app, or when you switch between data sets, it downloads the data again. Maybe there's some trick I'm not aware of.

Nice app for sailing. Needs occasional restart after a pause but the accuracy, prediction model and choice of data source make this app really useful. Of course it can't guarantee you will get wind shown but makes an invaluable planning tool for choosing best weather opportunities for sailing on a localised basis.

It stopped working for me. No more pretty colours on the map. Trial over??? The data sheets are still good This is an update to my first review and the stars went from 3 to 5. I didn't need to contact support but the pretty colours are back and so very useful. Great app functioning fully again thanks PredictWind

Good customer service is hard to find; however, I just experienced white glove customer service. I reported a performance issue with my s9 via email. Sam from PredictWind emailed me with steps that helped at the time. Fast Forward 2 months after I nearly forgot about the problem, I received an update that they fixed the issue server side and gave me steps to reverse the bypass ("fix") they had originally given me. It's rare to receive service like this. Thank you Sam. I appreciate it.

The most reliable weather app out there! I love the flexibility to see both US and European forecasts, as well as PredictWind's extrapolation of both. The graphics are informative and intuitive. The option to toggle between tables, graphs and maps makes trip planning so easy.

Very accurate! The developer and team are on standby for any questions or technical challenges also. I can't fault it so far. Great job. .... Edit. I keep finding additional technical details & info that are extremely helpful. Very impressive, love it!

I use this app for information whilst we are sailing round the UK. Really like the daily briefing feature. I use it free and find it frustrating that I can't change the location on the app, but have to do it on the laptop, which requires WiFi.

This was great, but something happened recently which means no wind forecast is shown on default zoom level and as soon as i try and zoom in just one level it wants me to subscribe to the 1km view, even though i am still really zoomed out, so not much use any more. UPDATE. 8km resolution winds are back, all is good.
