Terrible App. I pay for premium, which charges me once a year, and every single time the app updates, it forgets that I have premium. The only way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall the app. After. Every. Update. This app is terrible, and I'd advise anyone thinking of upgrading to a paid subscription to skip it. It's more trouble than it's worth.

I paid for premium, mostly for the radar. Unfortunately, it seems the radar is down more often than it works. When it does work, it is not accurate. It is about 20-30 minutes off. I have seen some apps that when it says it will rain at 5:00... it rains at 5:00. The only upgrade to premium that has actually worked was the removal of the ad between every video (which is totally ridiculous). And I rarely watch them. I think the weather channel can do much better. But will they?

I used to love this weather app, it was very accurate. I put up with the ridiculous ads that made it so you couldn't even move back and forth between tabs without full page pop-up ads. But now I can't even access weather info, it just sits and loads. I closed out of the app, restarted my phone, checked my Internet connection, even reinstalled that app, still can't load. 😕

It used to be a great app, but I just had to uninstall it and try a different app. Being in the Midwest during storm season, I can't have an app that isn't going to work half the time, never know when it's going to freeze, it never sends the alerts I ask it to, etc. It used to be great, but now all I can get when I open it is a buffering screen and ads (literally, the content just keeps trying to load while the ads pop up immediately.) Fix it and I might come back.

My favorite part about this app as when there's a tornado warning in effect and I'm trying to get info on it and I get a 30 second TIMU ad. Really helps me survive a tornado 👍 there's other issues, but due to character limit, I can't list them all here. For one example, the app will say clear skies. I step outside into a thunderstorm. Or it says rainy, but the sun is shining and there's not a cloud in the sky. The 24-hour radar gets janky when it loops back around. Sometimes it doesn't load up.

Too many irrelevant weather notifications on the home screen. Even after turning notifcations off, I still get updates about hurricanes that are nowhere near where I live. Yes, it's news but I'll go to the appropriate channels to get that news if I want it. I shouldn't be bombarded with items that I don't want to see directly when my preferences are already set.

Installed it, got berated 3 times for not having precise location turned on. Opened it, couldn't find the weather for all the ads plastered on my screen. This is insane y'all. I saw 4 HUGE ads in 2 pages, one of which was a full page ad that wouldn't close by hitting the back button. The weekly forecast was a tiny strip at the top with the rest of the page being - you guessed it - advertisements. Quickest uninstall of my life.

Ad after Ad after Ad. Then, for the last two weeks, I can hardly get anything to show up. It just sets and buffers. The only way to see things in the app is to hard press the app icon, and it gives you a few options to choose from. I can see things from there, but just regularly opening the app, I see nothing, just sets and buffers.

Update. I reinstalled this app just to see if any changes had been made. I was INUNDATED with ads immediately. I really like some of the features but the subscription price is way too high for a weather app. The display isn't very friendly for a mobile screen either. I have a large phone and everything seems jammed in there. Clunky is a good word for it. It almost looks like they are trying to stuff a webpage in to an app rather than properly design a user facing interface.

My phone was due for an Android update. Went through the process this morning. Then I checked the weather channel app. It opened to a place over 300 miles from me, for which I've never checked for weather. Later, I checked a text message from my husband that I'd never read, to tell me where he was staying on his trip home - the same place Weather channel had opened to. I never gave this app the permission to read my email. That makes me very distrusting. Weather accuracy is generally close.

Ads aside, this app ignores it's notification settings. I've turned off ALL notification settings from within the app, yet it continues to spam with random videos every hour or so. I just went into Android settings and disabled video alerts, so hopefully that does it, but it should not be ignoring it's own in app notification settings. But yeah, the ads are also ridiculous.

The app itself is fine, but the push notifications keep pushing out stories that arent really connected to the categories I select. I have "significant weather forecasts" (for my location), "Real time Rain" and "Government Issued Alerts" selected and yet I keep getting general type notifications, such as one I just got about fruit flies....which isnt relevant to anything I've selected.

Not a reliable indicator of the actual weather forecasts. One second it says that we are getting 2 inches of rain, and the next second it's 0.5 inches. I believe it's automatically updated based on only one forecast model. It's annoying. Updated and lowered the rating to 2 stars as the rain forecasts for the upcoming storm are wildly fluctuating.

It's easy to check the current weather and navigate to more info if needed. I like the hour by hour forecast. I can plan my day accordingly. It's also great that you can check upcoming days. And while others don't like the ads or featured events videos, they don't bother me. I love the random videos of weather related events like tornados and other important major events like bridges collapsing. I get so much education from them and stay informed on what's happening in the world. Thank You! 🤗

This used to be a great app but now they want to charge 30 dollars a year for a premium service that used to be free, like future radar (past just a couple of hours). Now you only get a taste of forecasted weather and have to pay to see past a few hours or whatever. It's a shame that almost every app ( and now the friggin weather channel ) wants in your wallet. Even the new interface is worse than before. Whomever decided to make all these changes deserves a demotion.

Immediately deleted when I saw how much personal data app collects. The other weather apps I downloaded to try out collect only the necessary, much less than this app, so I'll stick with one of them. If you don't care when an app shares location, email, search history, etc for marketing and advertising, then this may be a fine app for you-- I didn't try it.

Okay I see the purpose for the ads someone has to pay for the APP. But if you click on one of the links in your app changing the language to something I don't know to close the ad isn't going to help you. I guess if I don't understand which button to click I might accidentally download what you want me to. That doesn't look good for the weather channel. I'm going to remember that and I don't trust you anymore. It's greedy and underhanded and definitely feels purposeful. keeps happening Not click

I love using it. Great interface and easy to navigate. However, I want to watch the videos on there and there's literally an ad before every single one. Why not give us 60 seconds of ads and let us watch the videos uninterrupted for like 5 videos? Instead of an ad before every single video, because that's the reason I close the app. I can't go down a rabbit hole the way it is now.
