How does Picnic work?

1. Download the app and order your groceries online
To order at Picnic you need the Picnic app. Download it now and register. You can collect all the groceries you need in the app as soon as you can order. Make a shopping list, and choose a delivery time. We’ll take care of the rest!

2. We take care of your shopping
Now it's our turn! As soon as we have all orders for the next day in, we send our shopping list to our baker, greengrocer, and the other suppliers. Once everything is neatly packed, we are ready to leave for your neighborhood. We keep the fresh products nice and cool in separate crates.

3. We deliver your groceries to your home for free
With our sustainable, electric cars we drive through the neighborhood via smart routes. In this way, we ensure that everything on your shopping list is delivered to your home, punctual to the minute.

I was enthusiastic when I started ordering. But now I am not so pleased. Most of my weekly housemark groceries are replaced by almost twice as expensive A-products. Some are replaced by totally different products. And really annoying: you can't buy 2 cans of beer anymore. Why??? Customer service earned an extra ⭐ 👍

Update: I was offered a full refund in exchange of 5 star review. But I refused it on the moral grounds. I was initially excited about this app but alas, this app disappoints on every level. First, there is no support for English language. The offerings are mostly sold out. Delivery estimate is way off from actual delivery timeline. The app is a big mess. It's slow, clunky and asks 100 permissions per day. Beware of this app which advertises one thing but does another. Zero stars if I could.

Excellent experience. Delivers exactly as described. The only thing I noticed as an improvement is to show an item as unavailable up-front, instead of performing the check when it is added to shopping list. Perhaps it's a micro optimization to avoid one more call to the backend.

The service is excellent and you can choose the time of delivery within a 1 hour time slot. Brilliant. The prices are very competitive (similar to other supermarket chains) and they deliver at home. The app is easy to use but I would suggest adding the possibility of paying by PayPal and linking directly to the mobile banking apps at least of major banks eg ING, ABN-AMRO, etc

All in all I think this is a good idea. The problem is, like with every other online grocery delivery app, they only deliver to bigger cities where people have grocery stores left and right anyways. Their service is not available in small villages where people have to travel far to get to a store, and if you don't have a car there is no chance to get to a store due to lack of transportation. That is where apps like that are in need

Love it! The search engine could be a bit better but I end up finding 90% of what I need. It's saving me so much time and the products are great.

The app constantly crashes on startup. Most of the items it shows available on browse page are later indicated as unavailable on checkout page. My last two deliveries also failed when app was showing delivered but I never got them. Stay away from it unless you want to get ripped off. Android developers working on this app, why are you wasting your time? Go find the company with good reputation and track record of customer care and engagement.

The app looks like a nice online shopping choice. But if you are an expat in the Netherlands (there are around 1m expats in NL), note that there is no English language choice. Not even a google translate option. There is French and Germen, though. I have been waiting for more than 2 years (a response, back then, said that they are working on English option), and now, I think I will remove it. Good luck. I will try others like Gorillas and Flink.

Both the application and the real life service are great. I was hesitant to use it but decided to use it. I was on the waiting list and for waiting I've received 5 freebies which I usually buy. You don't have to go into details to add the things to your cart and also if the thing is out of stock you get recommended to similar stuff which is great! When I've got my groceries today they also gave me a small hand written message which I loved it. ❤️ Great experience!

The app doesn't support English. Still wanted to give it a try. I could probably use it, if I could get to the menu or product list. But starting it just keeps showing one banner after another and keeps going in loop. Overall the experience was very bad. Please either support English or enable text selection, so that it can be copy pasted in other translator apps.

Super app. What I miss is a section just for healthy low calorie food. But all online shopping try to sell you non healthy food.

A bit sceptical at first, but now I no longer buy groceries in the supermarket because of how convenient picnic is. It's affordable and especially easy for if you don't have the time or dont have the strength to carry heavy groceries regularly. App has been working well, with just some small issues with the car tracking. But in general works well.

It's a really good app, the only thing that's missing (in my opinion) is that you can't like products or recipes so you can save them for another time.

Overall a pretty neat app, however I have some suggestions: 1) When pinch zooming on product pictures I wish it stayed zoomed in if you release your fingers from the screen. 2) I'd rather have the 'i' button on products be swapped for a 'cart' button and have tapping the product take you to the product info page. 3) I wish a product's nutritional info didn't require an extra tap to reveal. 4) Although probably intentional, I do miss a "list products by high/low price" option.

super user friendly app and enough options to choose from. great that 2nd payments are automatically processed in the background. also great that it is free delivery. orders can be min 25eur though. excellent service at the door with explanations and delivery grouped with attention, on the next delivery they collect the deposited items. all works as expected, hope they keep it up!

It's a really handy app, but I think the minimum price for ordering is too high. €35 is very expensive specially if you're not buying veggies (you can if you want, they sell veggies and fruits, but you can't pick the perfect ones). That's why I'm giving them 4* instead of 5. But the app tells you when your groceries are on the way and they update you about the delivery time. And they take recyclable bottles (glass and plastic) and give you the money back. I'd recommend this app during quarentine
