Description of Web Video Cast | Browser to TV

Web Video Caster® allows you to watch on your TV videos from your favorite websites including movies, TV shows, live streams of news, sports. It also lets you cast local videos stored on your phone. Photos and audio files are also supported. Subtitles are detected on the web page, you can also use your own subtitles, or you can use the integrated search of OpenSubtitles.org.

Follow these simple step-by-step instructions to start streaming:


1.- Browse the web or the local file explorer to find the video, audio or photo you want to cast to your tv.
2.- If the video or audio is on a website, try to play the video inside the web page. If it is a photo, you can long press on it to cast it.
3.- Connect to your streaming device to cast the video, music, or picture.

LIMITATIONS & DISCLOSURES

• The app does not support tab casting, like the Chromecast extension for the PC web browser.
• We cannot do anything to fix issues that arise on the server side (media content provider) such as failure to play or buffering, which is especially common during heavy load times and weekends.

PERMISSIONS


• Phone state - To allow the pausing of videos on incoming phone calls.
• Wi-Fi connection information - Required for streaming devices and for the browser.
• Photos/Media/Files (storage in general) - Required for the download functionality.
• In-app purchases - For premium version.
• Wake-lock - To keep phone awake while routing videos through phone. Should only affect live streams and authenticated videos.
• Accounts/Identity - Required by Google Play Services (7.5+).
• Location - This is only requested on devices with Android 6+ so the user gets a chance to decide and it is only requested when the website you are browsing wants to know your location. You can always say deny it, it will not affect anything other than that website.

This is an awesome app. I would purchase the app if it wasn't a resource hog and didn't slow everything on my device down so badly, the device locks up and needs to be restarted sometimes. Only using this app works fine but that means no getting calls or SMS and alarms never pop up. Other than that issue, this app is great. I'd like to see facebook videos work as well. That's the only site I have found that I can't stream to Roku players.

Videos load up easily. And they check with you to see if the videos are loading correctly! Great service. The only thing that's a little annoying is pop up ads. You can click on them again and it'll start playing the video you selected. It just happens a lot to stop the ad them select the video you were originally going to watch Also I wish the playlist could go to the next video in the queue. Without having to stop make it fit to the screen. B

Honestly this is the best app I've ever used. If it ever won't connect, system restart your Roku, by going to settings-> power-> system restart. And it will work. I have to do this if I haven't used the app in a while. However it fixes right after and is incredibly easy. This app works everytime and I never have a problem with it. It's truly an amazing app and you should give it a try.

The free version has worked great for my dlna streaming. I definitely will be supporting the developer in purchasing the premium version. I've tried my factory version, several options available through the app store and even a few apk options not available here. Finally tried this one on accident and it has worked for every format I've tried. I haven't even had to change my phone's battery optimization settings. My search is finally over. The ads aren't an issue at all.

Love this app. I use it with Roku. I upgraded to paid version bc I saw an option to add a video to my queue and when I tried it said I had to have premium. I now can't even find the option any more. Maybe I was mistaken about what it was. Anyway, using it just as before is worth the price of admission, and no ads! Happy to support the developer. Thanks!

This app use to be great, but it now has invasive ads that completely ruin the experience. After every video, when you switch to a new video, you will be forced to watch two ads. Okay cool, the app needs funds to support itself. Now though, the X that appears after awhile to skip the ad has such a small area to click, it is very easy to select the ad and be taken out of the app. In addition to that, sometimes the X never shows up. You will then have to force close the app. Disgusting.

Love the app! If there is anything that you would like to cast to your TV this is the app for you. It's super flexible, customizable, and well optimized. One thing I'd love to see is a slider or input box for playback speed. I want to slow down some of my anime to improve my listening skills but I feel like the gap between 1x and 0.75x is too much.

Works wonderfully, as long as you experiment with it a bit. The source video can be hiding so you may need to do a process-of-elimination as the end user, but overall it works beautifully, especially blocking ads. :) Just remember, if you're loading live TV make sure to skip to the end of the program to catch up, it tends to start hours back at the beginning!

I really like the app. I used to love it for the same reason I bought the premium version, which was for the ability to queue up the next video(s). But now the feature is changed to playlist which has to be made prior to starting a movie/show binge instead of being able to have 1 video playing and choosing what video you want to automatically play next and ruined my favorite feature of the app. Please bring this feature back.

Last update(3/15) ruined it, now nothing plays longer than 15 seconds, not one single channel. Had minimal issues for over a year, but since the update I can't use it at all, going on a week now. I changed nothing, it just updated. EDIT/UPDATE3/30: uninstall/reinstall and it seems to be working fine. Streaming first one for several minutes now, first time in weeks. So far so good. EDIT: Nope, next one, back to square one, plays less than a minute.

This app works just the way I expected. The ads are a little annoying but I can get around that. There is one problem though, my entire Roku froze while I was trying to watch a video on it using this. Then a message displayed on my TV which read "HDCP unauthorized, content disabled". I was able to reboot my Roku and continue watching the video, but how can I prevent this from happening again?

It was especially frustrating to be unable to use the casting feature often advertised as a feature of the Samsung smart televisions, as I do not own a Samsung phone. After trying many apps I was able to find this one which does everything I want while also including a plethora of additional features I did not know that I wanted. I had to support the developer after trying it out. The interface is a little clunky but the functionality of the app is expansive.

Amazing, Well done. I enjoy that I can just cast a video instead of a whole webpage. Check the settings, when you get this app. You can ensure that the app only displays one video on a web page rather than allowing it to "autoplay" all videos on that page. I think it is to play video only when the screen is touched. I have found no other browser which casts from a tablet or a phone. Brilliant work on part of the developers.

This is one of the best apps I've ever used. It will play almost any video on any website, even those that require you to watch ads before the video plays. Has native integration (specific channels) with most media players (Roku, Fire TV, etc), and even has a receiver to play to other devices (such as a tablet while traveling without a TV). I use this nearly every day, and it works even on password protected sites. I highly recommend this app.

Simple layout, short ads, and i was having trouble with buffering or the video playing and turning off. A warning message appeared telling me I had to turn the battery optimizer off for this app for the video to play correctly. It instantly fixrled the problems. I never would have known if the app wouldn't of told me and gave me instructions on how to do so. Best casting app I've seen. Which is a whole lot. Thank you so much.

Great for watching videos from your phone on the TV! I just used Smart View on my phone to cast things to my Roku TV but the connection always sucked, but with this there's no connection issues at all. It does have ads, BUT they only pop up on the phone, not the TV, so they're easily ignored. Only reason this gets 4 out of 5 is because you have to load one video at a time. Maybe Premium would let you do more, but eh, it's good enough. I'm happy with this, and I think you'll be too.

Usually I absolutely love to his app and have been using I almost two years now. I even paid for the premium version! But the issue is the videos keep playing for a few mins, buffers and then closes. It's really frustrating because I used to work like a charm. Also recently the video on the browser says "remove sandbox attributes on the iframe tag"

It does what it claims to and that is impressive. However it's riddled with full screen ads that force you to click on them instead of close them. It skips ads from sites well, but puts just as many ads as you'd see there in the way. I'd rather cast from a more inconveniently located computer or have to jump through hoops that are less ad ridden than deal with this.
