I really love this app! It is driving me crazy though. It took several attempts to install it on my device and then when I get to the last part of my lessons it always says "unable to play song" I try everything I can think of to get it to play and eventually have to uninstall and then reinstall...this fixes the issue temporarily however I takes multiple, multiple attempts to install and then the problem always comes back...and it's always the last song of the lesson which really drives me nuts.

I've learned several instruments already, all woodwinds, but never a string (guitar) or off of an app. I'm liking it so far. The videos are really good at breaking things down for a beginner. "Hold the instrument like this, this is the mnemonic for the string order," and so on. Minus one star for simplifying some of the music theory too much (a scale is NOT "basically a bunch of notes that sound good together"). However, that won't stop me from recommending this app to my friends if they ask.

Great idea, but there's still bugs. The bouncing ball doesn't hit the note with the music, indicating lag. I'm on fiber internet, so I'm pretty sure it's not on my end. The longer I used the app, the worse it's detection got, which, for a beginner could become very frustrating with the student thinking, "I'm never going to get this right!" Uninstalled and might check back to see if it's improved. Again, great idea, it just needs some work.

This app is great. I am someone who has a little guitar knowledge (basic chords) but I have not picked up a guitar in a couple of years & never had formal lessons; I learned on my own through guitar tabs. This has been a great teacher!! The exercises are really fun and I find myself wanting to practice with the app all the time! My only complaint is mic sometimes has problems picking up what I am playing and latency is sometimes an issue (bouncing ball doesn't keep up w/ music).

I really love this app and that's too bad. It never let's me use my full free 10 minutes. The user gets reminded way too many times in 10 minutes to try premium. You also can't go back and play songs you already learned, which doesn't make sense. There's also a glitch where the video will lag but will fix itself mid song and it will do this a couple times in the same song.

Downloaded the app after not using it in years, and it still hasn't changed that much. Chords will be recognized as wrong even when you play the right ones, and also does the same recognizing wrong cords as right, which makes it more frustrating than fun way too often. The app has the potential to be greater than what it is, but finding a video tutorial on YouTube makes for a more fun, productive, and accurate learning experience

Absolutely loved it during the free trial. If I could pay monthly like the billing terms state in the app then I'd be all for it! Unfortunately according to customer service I'm not eligible and have to purchase a full year. One month....3 months, heck I'd sign up for 6 months but a whole year is asking way to much. It was really fun while it lasted.

Been well worth it so far! Great features, entertaining lessons/exercises. Really helping me learn on my own. The mic sometimes pics up the music the app is playing and confuses it with my guitar (thinks I hit the right note when I didn't, or thinks I missed a note when I don't think I did). This problem seems to go away when I turn down the volume of the music. Other area for improvement would be an intro or help section, some of the features are hard to find or figure out when you first start.

It's a great app. It really has helped me with the basics. I have discovered one problem. It is slightly off on picking up sound. I will strum it on time and it will stop like I didnt strum it for a split second, then continue. I have been strumming a bit early so it could hear it before it stops. It makes getting perfect kinda difficult. But despite this. I would still recommend it

Good app, but there are issues. First, I was having a lot of latency problems with one set of wired headphones versus another. Then, one of the songs in my learning path wouldn't load. When I attempted to contact support, I couldn't on my mobile (Android) - but could on PC. Another song in my lessons was so out of sync that it was unplayable. Cleared cache and now the missing song loads.

The way they teach you to play an instrument it's very creative and they take you step by step in detail but how do you expect me to pay for a service that can't even catch my guitars sound correctly. It's indecisive and inconsistent when it comes down to it. After the first few lesson the app just completely starts crashing. I am a beginner but I've downloaded multiple apps to tune my guitar and they are all consistent when I tune it except this one. It's really bad. Not worth the buy, at all.

I love this app. It runs great on my TV at home, and it has been very helpful for learning a bunch of new techniques. Lately it has had some issues opening the app, and is just stuck on the load screen. I've unistalled to try and fix the problem, but now I can't reinstall the program. I've been a member for a year now, but just cancelled my membership until it gets some of the songs I've requested and they get the app fixed. I'll check back in about 3 months.

Picks up my guitars sound in tuner but does not even pick up at all during lessons. Cannot rewind or go back to previous lessons. After experimenting with this again, it's the stupid music that plays drowns out the microphone so it doesn't pick up anything. Then the next lesson expects me to already know what the chords were without looking them up. I tried tapping on it, but it doesn't give me any feedback about what I'm supposed to be playing. This is definitely a design, not a technical issue

I am having a lot of fun with this app (and my guitar as a result) but I think there are a few features that can be improved upon. 1. Changing frets. If there could be a system to warn beginners when to slide up or down on the frets of their guitar similar, I think that would be much better than the current system of "I'm playing the right note why isn't it working?? Oh its a 5 not a 3." 2. Rock n' Tumble's difficulty seems a little high for passing level 3.

It's a pretty good app overall. The main problems are that if you don't very frequently calibrate your audio, the songs will incorrectly mark you wrong (or even right) and the list of available songs is pretty limited. They absolutely need to expand their music library. Also, I tried to do the full year up front which is $11.99 a month but instead was locked in for a full year paying monthly at $13.99 with seemingly no way to change it.

The only thing this has going for it is the attractive UI. You don't learn anything after the absolute bare basics, you just play songs over and over and over again until muscle memory inevitably kicks in which is not the same as learning the instrument. The app also misses notes all the time which gets old, plus the "premium" songs are just mediocre covers. I learned more om Fender Play in a week than I did this in a month. Not worth the time or energy, and definitely not worth paying for.

Definitely need some more troubleshooting in the app. It simply wouldn't load. First it verified my email but then wouldnt go past "I don't have my guitar". I thought I would look through the lessons at work during lunch, but my attempt seem to break it. There is no way to exit either. I had to kill the app from my phones config menu. Maybe a few updates will fix these issues. I was really looking forward to this one. (edit) can't get past "loading songs for you" it never leaves that screen. (edit) had to Uninstall and reinstall. Then it start me singing? Never selected that. Couldn't get out of that mode for a while. The menus are hidden. Finally found a way to select guitar. Then it started me plucking a single string to a bouncing ball, and again, I could not exit. Lol. Had to kill the app from phone config. This app has lots of potential... If these very basic issues are resolved.

The platform is nice, and a good beginner tool, but definitely not a year's worth of material, at least for the bass. I got through the entire thing in about 2 weeks, and still feel like an absolute beginner. It did help me build stamina to begin an actual theory course. The last level is just stupid terrible speed plucking. Better to run some of the earlier exercises at increased speeds. You really do need something bigger than your phone. Overall, not terrible, but not terribly good either.
