There are excellent courses offered by Udemy, but their app is absolutely terrible. Lessons start in the middle of the video. Modest LTE connection is apparently not sufficient to watch the lectures on the go. The app can't retain the position in the playlist once it is selected. The rotating ring has now a permanent presence in my mind. I think there must be a better way to do server - client interaction that does not lock the UI and does not get confused by spotty network and network switching.

I sincerely enjoy Udemy because of the great courses, but after having it for a few years I don't understand why there isn't a dedicated TV app. Chromecast is unstable with Udemy specifically. I can hardly get it to work. It often skips or returns to previous videos. Part of the enjoyment is watching courses on a big screen like you're in a classroom. If they actually manage to change these issues, I will proudly rate the app 5 stars.

Rediculously usless app!!! This app has a hard time loading lectures despite downloading it on your phone. Even when they loads, it randomly goes to the next video. Super annoying !!! I have to completely exit out of the app and restart for it to play any video. There needs to be an audio only function if you are just listening to the lecture and dont need the video. Some lectures are basically all talk that could have been an audio book. Honestly, why even bothered making this app.

I've been using the app for quite sometime with no issues and now everytime I try to login I get an "Oops" and "Check your connection". Nothing is wrong with my connection btw. I've tried things suggested in the help center and have even uninstalled and reinstalled the app more than once, but still can't get in to my courses that I've paid for! I did login on the actual website (using this same connection) and could see my courses, but it's much more convenient to be able to use the app!

It won't stop. I have to open the app on my phone and click "force stop" to make the videos stop running. It's obnoxious, and I'm reluctant to open my Udemy course because it's going to be a struggle to shut it down. Update after Udemy response: The point of my negative review was that it's hard to stop the video. It just keeps running. When my phone rings or someone tries to talk to me, I have to apologize for the audio playback that won't stop.

The actual website is okay, but I can't get any audio for my videos within the app, even after I've downloaded them. The videos play frame-by-frame and with no sound. Pretty agonizing to watch. I've been using my phone's browser, which loads everything correctly. May not happen to everyone, but this has certainly brought my rating down. Edit: Nevermind. My headphones were glitching out somehow. I got a new pair and the app works just as intended. Thank you for the learning platform!

Amazing app. So far the app seems to work perfectly fine for me. Courses are available for cheap but the quality is good (although I do recommend reading the reviews of the specific courses you're looking into because I have heard that some instructors aren't as good as others). The courses I bought include several bite-sized instructional videos so I can view them anytime, anywhere. Perfect for when you need a refresher on the go!

This is a nearly pointless app. You can already browse and view courses in a web browser, and app doesn't improve this in any way. You can zoom in with a browser, but NOT with the app. The app crams a lot of functionality into the interface, and it can be confusing to use. I somehow triggered a download of a video, but then I could not stop the download. It's good to have if you want to download a lesson, but otherwise you're better off in a browser.

If there was one word I would use to discribe this app, it would be "slow". Slow to pull up, slow to buffer videos (even when they are downloaded). After particularly slow moments, the app tends to crash, telling me that it's much more heavy weight than it needs to be. I can't cast the videos to anything, so no learning on TV. If udemy didn't have such good content, I'd give the app 1 star. I would expect a much better app from a company that has so many programming teachers and students.

seriously guys there are a lot to improve in the app. 1. with the cast connection to a smart-tv it doesn't start a new lecture in order instead it repeats the same lecture. 2. why do I have to navigate to control the video and navigate again to search another video? it should be all of it locate easily from menus in the video. 3. I would like to control the speed of the video, some guys speak really slow and it's annoying to follow a complete lecture. 4. I'll continue exploring the app...

Probably my favorite learning app so far, I've completed 2 different courses and honestly I wish I would have found Udemy earlier. One of the things I like is the fact that I'm not hit with ads like most learning apps, it's straight to the content. One other awesome feature is that I can start watching a lecture on PC then go out and resume from where I left off on my phone. That may seem small but when when you have a class full of lectures, it's a must have feature. There are also free classes

The Udemy website is great, but their app is not good at all. It is barely functional. When I'm trying to filter courses to search through them, it just hangs (a red loading circle animation keeps playing without end). It's also very difficult to look for courses because the pages are so cluttered. To Udemy: Either learn to make a proper app, or just get rid of it. Your main website is fine. An app is unnecessary and completely useless to anyone if it's a broken mess. Thank you.

The app is great; easy to use, can sign in with google, different options for video playback and the sales get sent when they happen. Can listen on phone when driving. The only issue I notice is that it doesn't play in the back ground when you're not in the app for very long. If I could listen to the courses in the background longer that would change my rating to a 5 star. Overall great app.

It seems as though I have to start my new courses on the desktop site because I get a blank screen when trying to do so from the app. Also not the biggest fan of how accessing resources works, especially considering some of em just don't even come up. The app is really only good for watching videos and keeping track of progress. The rest of the features leave much to be desired.

I can't even experience it. The app doesnt even move out of the log in screen. No matter what I do it just circles. I've learned that I have no patience for apps that you can't even log in to. I guess I'm sticking to accessing through a browser. *response to developer - Thank you, for your quick response. Just like when you unplug the router, or restart a device, I un/reinstalled the app a few times, and triple checked my password...even changing it...to no avail. I will do the next step. 👍🏼

I love the platform, and have purchased many courses. HOWEVER the Android application has been working TERRIBLY. The application freezing constantly, sometimes even crashing and going unresponsive. Additionally, when any course I'm on advances to the next video the chapter will start in the middle of the video. This is getting increasingly frustrating. For the Dev Team: My devices are Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, with all the latest updates, and a Galaxy Tab A 10.1" also with the latest updates. Both devices are experiencing these problems.

Good format but odd bugs tend to ruin the user experience. When I watch lectures through the app, they tend to start halfway through the video. Other times, it can't play the video at all and then will move onto the next video, and keep cycling through videos it can't play. This screws up the ordering of the lectures and what is marked as complete.

So far, so awesome! Just started my first course. Life coaching, no real direction in mind to use this practically, just wanted to know more about the subject. Great layout and lots of information. I'd say it pays to do side research on the instructors prior to purchase, as I did see some "quacks". Be smart and think about the content before just jumping into a course.
