The app itself glitches and stops the audiobook when I listen. Usually a complete phone restart fixes it, but it happens every now and then. The yearly subscription is ridiculous. Paying an entire year for the service is way too much to ask. A monthly or even 3-month subscription is reasonable. And even with that it's on the expensive side. The summaries themselves are good quality. But not worth the app issues and yearly subscription.

There's a typo in your intro. "..you discover our our Blinks,..." The word "our" is twice. Hire me! I'm a UX designer 🤪 Also, I wish there was an option to add my own notes as I'm highlighting. That would be WONDERFUL. Also, if you can add 3 whole seconds of pause or soft music as the blinks are transitioning, it will allow listeners to digest what was being said.

Absolutely love this app! I've been in IT for 25 years and have never written a product review but volunteered to rate Blinkist. That should tell you something! With so many books in the world and so little time to read them, Blinkist enables me to consume many more books than I ever could have done otherwise. I can listen to an entire book, in summary, while driving to work in the morning. And in case I miss it, Blinkist also recaps the main points for me. The selections of books is huge!

It's not possible to go straight to the free version without signing up for the free trial subscription first. Given all the problems people are having cancelling before getting charged, plus the fact that I don't have a continuous week to devote to trying out the app, I'm unwilling to do that. Here's a better idea: Stop trying to force or trick people into an expensive subscription. Give a free trial - maybe two or three books instead of one week - then just let it expire. If people want to subscribe, they will.

This app has a great selection of books but is the most frustrating app I've ever had the displeasure of using. After finishing an audio book it'll play the next one in my queue WITHOUT logging it's completion somewhere so I can favorite, bookmark it, decide to buy it, interact with it, or anything. There's absolutely no record of me ever listening to it which make the discover and listening process elusive and frustrating. Let me mark what I've listened to even AFTER I've listened to it!

Haven't tried yet. The free trial is ONLY if you commit to a WHOLE YEAR after the 7 day free trial. That's a huge commitment, and a huge hit on the bank account if you forget to cancel. If you guys would offer 7 free days on the monthly plan, I would consider trying your app because I am very interested and tempted. Edit: thank you for your response. However, that doesn't resolve my problem, just points out a nice feature. I'm leaving my one star until I'm able to try without a year commitmen

Overall I think this app is great. The majority of the book summaries are well done and the books are effective. I did not subscribe because there isn't an option to pay monthly at the advertised promotional rate. The available monthly payment option is double the price and not worth the limited selection of books in my opinion. Give me the promotional rate with monthly payment option and I would subscribe immediately.

Much improved! For the newer blinkists, THANK YOU! for doing away the annoying "The Key Message Here" interjections. The music and sound effects are a nice addition, however, on many of the musicals, the pauses in between paragraphs and sections go on too long. What used to be a 15 minute listen now takes half an hour. But otherwise, thanks again for taking away the key takeaways and making this app more enjoyable. I read them more now than listening though, because it doesn't take as much time.

The concept of this app it's pretty great. I like the idea the books are distilled down into simple quick easy to read essays essentially. That said, this is where I feel it's lacking. I decided to read some blinks on some more complex books that I've actually read the whole thing . What I found is that it often leaves out a lot of important points that might not be key points. For the price of this app I think more content should be available if the reader would like. Also there's no dark mode

Would give 5 stars. The content is well curated and the app lives up to its promise, but the technical issues make it painful at times. I listen while commuting, which makes the random shutdowns between blinks rather annoying since I must restart the app and resume playing without being able to see. Still a great product, the app just needs some minor fixes

I am very annoyed that after the trial Iwas charged a full year at $93!! I was actually enjoying the product but this was misleading and will certainly make me discontinue my membership. Regarding the product itself, I find it does an OK job at summarizing, some books better than others, I'd really like if it had a discussion board or user reviews of the content itself. I'm having to go elsewhere to gage quality of books. Finally, when I've searched for specific books, I haven't had luck.

I love this app but today I just opened it and every book I start it pops up with an error message of "Whoops, something seems to be wrong with your internet connection!" This of course cannot be true because everything else including YouTube works just fine. I even force stopped the app with no success. I took a moment and came back a few hours later and still the same problem is occurring. If you could help with the matter it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you again for all you do!

The books look good, but subscription is too expensive for what I'd actually use. However, they also have a free plan, apparently with no time limit, which only lets you read (or listen to, in the mobile app) the book that they're highlighting that day: one day for the whole book. This is different from the free TRIAL, which automatically goes to a paid subscription after 7 days unless you cancel before then.

The app is great. I think the "free blink of the day" is unique for those that are willing to learn something new on a car ride home, but I don't think the subscription price is worth it for me personally. I wish there was a "free" filter so I can listen to blinks that don't require a subscription. There is not many I found like 2 without spending too much time digging.

I've been subscribed to the premium version for a couple years now, and for the price I think they should have more books/wider selection. I'd love a way to suggest new titles via the app. I use Blinkist to "preview" books to determine whether they're worth a full read. I have discovered many new favorites this way. For some books, the blinks are really all you need. The app saves me time and helps me find my next engaging read. Content is good, but some of the voices reading the audio bug me.

I enjoy this app and don't have any technical issues with it. I like having both text and audio for each blink. The library feature is great for cuing up selections. The way it's being promoted, I expected something similar to the old Reader's Digest Condensed Books. But these are more like book reports. That's ok. It's a great way to decide if a book is your thing and worth reading. Sometimes you only need the cliff notes.

Awesome accidental purchase! I did the 7day trail, and forget to cancel it. But, I'm honestly glad I did. I use it all the time. They sum up books really well and the voice actors are quite pleasant to listen to, of course you can always read the Blinkist instead! One thing I found really cool was that you can 'vote' for titles you would like to see added. All in all, for the amount of time I spend on the app, I prkce is quite reasonable.

The book summaries are very good and the UI is straight forward and clean however this app falls way short on one very important aspect. Lack of proper Bluetooth support. I would assume that productivity would be high in the list of someone drawn to this app. If you decide to use this app to listen while driving it is awful and potentially dangerous. As it stands Bluetooth controls only work if the app is in the foreground and the Bluetooth rewind/forward buttons only change blinks(chapters) and do not move you back or forward 15 seconds. Every time you missed something you have to use the controls on the phone screen to skip back a few seconds so there is no way to multitask with this app. If this issue were fixed this app would definitely be 5 stars.
