As a complete beginner I am really enjoying this app. I like how the lessons are broken down and provide a slow but steady progression. Some other apps that I have tried suddenly throw new things at you with little to no explanation. I also find it very helpful that songs can be slowed down to 60% or 80% of the normal speed. I really wish the app had a rewind feature, so when I mess up I can immediately go back and try that part again. Practice mode is nice, but rewind is a lot more helpful.

Good self learning tool. I signed up for 3 months to begin, and liked it enough to sign up for another 6 months. It does a good job teaching and allowing me to pace. I wish it had an option to rewind to a certain part of a song to practice when I struggle with one area. Be nice to have a built in help feature, where it does the tick tock thing upon request in an area. It sometimes does not catch certain notes, but overall, I'm really enjoying it

over all great. but the app.is having a really hard time identifying the cords when I play. meaning I'm playing the cord right but it does not pick up on one of the notes and it counts it as an error which makes it really hard to.kove on, because I'm having to constantly start songs and practices over and over. I have a piano not a keyboard, so I cant turn the volume up.
Jordan Stevens
The lessons them selves are decent if I can even get through them. Half the time it registers that I've played a note and the other half it doesn't. This only happens when the music starts playing through the app. It's super annoying and making it really difficult to finish lessons. There's a feature that the app lowers the volume of the music to hear better but it either turns it down so low you can't hear the music or not low enough for the app to hear the piano there is no in between.

So this is a pretty good app with systems that let you learn piano quickly. However, it has one fatal flaw. It keeps detecting certain notes as correct when I get them wrong and it's making it incredibly difficult for me to learn. I wish there was some way to calibrate it to your piano specifically or some fix for this glaring issue in an otherwise successful app.

It is really fun, and I really enjoy it. But there are only two problems I face. First is that android and ios are not synced up for this app which is really frustrating as now I get different outputs for bot of my parents phones. Second is its hearing power. I know it's an app, but it really is annoying when you are pressing the right keys but it takes the wrong ones. Except for that it is super awesome and I enjoy its colorful theme. Song requests of mine don't usually go through, but fun!

Pretty decent app for getting started learning the piano. It doesn't go over anything about music theory or anything, so me, starting with no background at all, was confused by some things. Would have been nice for more introductory stuff to have been... introduced. Also, the really most frustrating thing, and it's probably just a hardware issue, but this app is terrible at detecting simultaneous notes. Like, it'll tell you to play a G C E chord and the app will only detect one or two of them.
A Google user
Want to update my review after getting further along in this application. I'll start off by saying that this app is fun and has a progressive way to help teach piano. But, like many others have said before, their note detection is really a handicap in their app. This at, first, is annoying but managable when you start out. However, as you progress in the notes such as Chords or faster paced songs, it becomes clear how limited your practice becomes through this app. I am still unable to get past the Jazz Chords and Intermediate IV because of the poor note detection which repeatedly often fails to detect anything higher than the G note. This gets much more problematic when you're playing a piece where you're doing well on, but if you do slip up and have to go through their slowed-down version, you'll find that their slowed-down version has an EVEN WORSE note detection. I have to literally slam on the keys multiple times to get it to pass through with my keyboard at a high volume just to get it to recognize I'm playing the right now. Sometimes, it doesn't and I have to repeat the song from the beginning and hope I can play this piece perfectly to bypass this repeat portion. This slow-down repeat feature in the song also becomes a problem as you advance in your learning. When you do end up passing it to resume the song you find yourself back in the middle of where you were having to quickly change hand positions to keep up with the now, sped-up pacing, of the notes. Not to mention there are often glitching problems where if you don't play anything the app assumes you played something incorrectly and takes you back to repeat it at a slower pace, or sometimes doesn't populate the notes at all and you have to force close your app. They do have the option to hook it up with a MIDI connection that involves spending extra money for the equipment. I was never able to get mine to hook up with the app and didn't hear back from customer support midway through troubleshooting with them. So, would I recommend this app? Yes, if you're a beginner and want to learn piano. But at some point this app can only go so far in technical quality that'll you're find yourself unable to progress further with it. At that point, you should at least be comfortable enough to learn on without. In which case, just buy the short-term subscription from them then learn on your own PROS -- >Good for beginners to learn piano >Gradual progression and diverse song selection CONS -- >There repeat song feature is buggy >Note detection often fails at chords and high notes >Can't unlock songs unless you complete the courses, which is unfairly handicapped since the advanced pieces are nearly impassible with the poor note detection

I do like the lessons. I've got both an electric grand as well as an acoustic piano. The app cannot hear either of the pianos well enough for me to play with any music. Also, the app has a hard time hearing chords. I'll have to hit the chords multiple times for it to register or hit each note in the chord seperate for it to clear. The app is alright, just think that this shouldn't be a problem after paying $149 for it. Obviously this didn't happened during the free trial.

I want to love this app. I practice almost everyday with this app or another one. Honestly, this one is infuriating. It recognizes single notes & chords pretty well when just practicing/learning those. However, when you try to play along with a song the whole thing falls apart. I use both a digital keyboard & a stand up piano. Doesn't matter. The app has extreme difficulty hearing a chord. Don't get me started on the worthless metronome. Think I can handle 4/4 time, but not according to this app

Good app very fun and learned alot. Only problem is that the micphrone does not work well, if I would play the correct note it would say it was wrong the first time then the second time. I would play it would say that it is correct. Another problem is that it would just freeze and make me restart the progress if I was on a song. Other than that good app, but very frustrating with those bugs.

Just started with a rhythm lesson and was very annoyed. In the exercises with no background music, if there are two of the same note in a row, I will strike it once and it counts for two notes, no matter how briefly I hit it, even if they're supposed to be half notes. And then for the ones where I'm playing along with music, I keep getting this "unable to hear your piano" alert before the notes even start, and then it lowers the volume of the song so I can't hear it to get a feel for the tempo.

Fantastic app for all levels of piano learning. Combines awesome visual, audio and repetition for amazing progress. However, it doesn't work and when you ask for help support just says your piano is out of tune our app works fine. Problem is I plugged my keyboard into the app via USB and it makes the same mistake. I asked for a refund now they won't talk 😣 to me 😡 at all.

The concept of this app is cool but there are too many technical glitches or issues that frusterate me and waste my time while trying to learn. For instance, the app asks you to place the device near the speaker so it can hear the notes but if you're reading the notes on the device then it is not feasible to place the device near the speakers. Furthermore, I must turn the volume up as high as it goes and strike the keys very hard in order for the app to hear the note. If not, it interprets that I missed the note and sends me into practice mode, so a 30 minute practice session then turns into an hour long practice session because you're having to repeat notes or measures that you have already learned. Lastly, I would like to see an option where the user can remove the numbers above the notes. I am finding myself relying on the numbers too much and I would like to focus more on reading the actual notes but I cannot figure out how to remove the numbers so that they do not distract me. Very frusterating app.

Using with midi connection for a couple weeks now. Pretty solid. Making good progress while having fun. Difficulty seems to have ramped up significantly after flats and sharps are introduced, not just because of the additional notes, but song speed increased as well making things rather difficult. I think it could use some work on what counts as a "correct" key press. If I mash every key repeatedly it counts the whole section as a success with no penalty for the incorrect key presses.
Elsie Powell
control of pacing, content, and schedule makes learning with ADHD much easier. I had low expectations for my ability to learn, and have far surpassed them. MIDI support is a big plus, though I agree with other reviews that it should be clearer about it being effectively required for intermediate levels. additionally, the audio seems to be out of sync with the display and the note detection. maybe device-specific? it's fine early on, but by the intermediate levels it's a substantial problem
A Google user
It has it's small glitches, like counting one key tone for two, and passing a level up despite in making a few mistakes. But to me it's minimal because I personally know that it did it wrong and one way or another I will compensate for that. And once you get it, it will be because the app was helpful. Not perfect...but still very helpful.
A Google user
Terrible sound recognition. This gets me everytime. The lesson froze once and I had to RESTART my whole progress. It's very annoying. I also wish they gave us opportunities to actually pick a song we actually LIKE to play. Overall, their lessons are okay but whenever it goes to practice mode, it's very slow and sometimes I didn't even make a mistake and it goes into practice mode right off the bat!
