I prefer the browser version of Canvas. My biggest problem with the app is the inability to change the time zone. It makes it frustrating having to constantly mentally adjust the due dates to the class's time zone. I have nearly missed assignments because of it, and it makes it confusing discussing projects and deadlines with other students. I use the browser version on chrome on mobile devices instead, even though it's harder to read and navigate, because it's still less of a headache.

I never had any issues with this app until it last updated on April 11th. Since then, it logged me out and I cannot log back in. I go through the 2 step verification and once I get through, it shows an error code. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I am still having the same issues. I used this app daily for my school, with the convenience of working on and submitting assignments away from my laptop. I am very disappointed and hope these issues will be resolved quickly!

As a student, I think it's a really good way to send in work, especially while remote learning. But, it is laggy and unless I'm submitting an image, it fails to load. Say I'm sending my teacher an image but can't because it doesn't load, and that's a huge problem. It doesn't load on my phone or school iPad, and I'm hoping it gets fixed soon. Regardless, it's a very well structured app and great for communication and easily submitting schoolwork.

Like everything else touched by Canvas, this app is rife with bugs and poor UI choices. I had a suspicion this would be the case when I downloaded it, but decided to give it a shot. Of course, however, none of the files in a certain course will actually load, so the app is worthless. I've had to work with Canvas as an instructor for four years and long for the day when I'll never have to interact with this awful platform again.

When and if it works, it works pretty well. For some reason I cannot download the app itself to my Surface Pro tablet, which mostly defeats the purpose. The only device this app works on is my personal phone (Samsung), but I would prefer to access my assignments and homework on an actual tablet to reduce the straining on my eyes and hands. I have tried to download the app on other Samsung devices but it will not work either. Otherwise, the features on this app take some getting used to if you are not technologically inclined. But there are plenty of tutorials that can show you how to do everything from posting on the discussion board to uploading assignments.

Yeah, it's decent I guess. Better interface than the website, which is a plus. I pretty much just use it to get notified for assignments, but I really wish there was a dark mode available (same goes for the website, if that applies) as I'm a night owl, and prefer to study late at night, and the default light theme hurts my eyes.

App has been good up until this last update. Since then I can not take any quizzes or tests. When I select to "take quiz" it shows the loading circle then goes to a blank screen. After the time allotted for the quiz it shows a failed quiz attempt. This is not acceptable! Please fix this, I have studying to do along with quizzes at the end of each chapter and tests after each section.

Overall the app is fine but it has 2 major downfalls. The first being that yuja is unusable. It's unreliable, freezes, and is impossible to scrub through the video without it going by multiple minutes at a time. Second, we really need the ability to edit and delete discussion posts. I shouldn't have to log in on my computer or even just on my mobile web browser to do so when the whole point of a mobile app is to be where you can do it all.

Canvas app is OK, but it could be better. App is missing features that are available to web users. First, it would be nice if there was a feature to allow users to filter by the most recent graded assignment. Second, allow user to upload videos from their phones. This is a must as users have to login into the web version to upload video assignments. And finally, please integrate the assignment calendar to Google calendar or Outlook. I would also recommend a future redesign users flow in the app.

Good platform for teaching in a academic environment. However it isn't the best as it has problems with certain thing like letting students/users know when they receive a message or assignment, needing much instruction to learn how to use it for people who new to it, and mainly it's not very user friendly as you best have a tab open with it and check it very often. So it's more better to use in real class as to turn in work, than doing online learning.

Does the job. Don't recommend completing any coursework through the app because the UI components can be a but funky. Great for viewing course content on the go/for quick reference, and tracking your grades as they come up. It would be nice if a Canvas page had an option to open in the browser (I was watching a video, and it didn't go Fullscreen like I wanted so I had to pull canvas up in my web browser instead)

Was functional before most recent update despite some problems. Namely, it does not display visuals very well such as graphs and charts. With the most recent update, this app keeps crashing upon start up. It's unfortunate since, I do alot of homework through my phone and this app used to do the trick. But as of right now, this app is a broken mess.

Everything is simple and easy to use. There should be more customization though. For example maybe I want to change my background view from white to black. Also, for some reason my calendar is now saying that I dont have anything due, even though I know I do. It doesnt show assignments that are due on that day when I have the setting set to where it should. This just became an issue as of October, it was working fine before. This is the best feature. Please fix!!!!

It's Canvas, love or hate it. It's a faithful port from the website, and has some useful features like widgets and notifications. That said, the widgets are sort of a mess. They don't always update, so you could be relying on outdated information. On top of that, your "to-do list" widget doesn't clear your submitted assignments and has trouble with class discussions, so you're both missing discussions that are due, and being told that you still need to do assignments you've already completed.

Useless notifications. They all group up into one blob. It makes it so when I click on the notification of 3 notifications, it goes to a random 1. It then clears the other 2. The app is also different from the website. For example, I can't change the email notification settings (which is essential, due to the broken app notifications.) No dark mode

It is difficult to use. All assignments and quizzes should all be in one spot. I hate the fact I open a subject and have to look in multiple different folders to find work that needs to be completed. For example I had my husband checking kids work and he thought it was all done. After I went though all the links I found something under quizzes. It should be all under one area. Not multiple.

My calendar feature hasn't worked in months but no one I know is having issues with theirs. Mine says "There was an error loading your calendar" with a "Retry" button but it doesn't matter how many times I retry, it doesn't work. The To-do list feature works but I hate that, I want my calendar back. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and nothing works. Also, a really smart feature to have would be the ability to set reminders or notifications for upcoming calendar due dates.

Kind of a mid app, but it needs to be better considering I need to use it every day. It is really slow for no clear reason, and the document scanner is trash. Also, sometimes it glitches out and makes me sign in to Microsoft, but no keyboard shows up for me to type in my password. And in the to do list I often mark things done that I did on paper, and no matter how many times I mark it done, it never goes away. Better than the website is on a phone, but that's not saying much.
