Im only just starting this (was only checking to see if I wanted to delete it to free up room!)- but was intriqued enough to give it a try (had forgotten totally what the app was!) and am very glad I did! I've been meaning try to learn Spanish for years - this seems like a fun way to at least learn words. I do wonder how teaching grammar would be done, though - if in fact it is even attempted in this app.

It's at a good pace for a starter like me, and I'm quite slow, so the repeatition and cute and simple graphics really help... I give it a 4 star because I would love to have more time, 10 mins perhaps, but I can't really afford to pay the premium bcs I'm still not working and my mum is paying for me. So you'd get the financial restriction.. Overall, would recommend

This is so easy to use and gives you small amounts to learn with repetition & pictures. It's the best version of flashcards so it sticks with you English to Spanish & Picture so your brain takes a picture of it for whichever way you learn best. Excellent!!

This is really neat! As a college studnet I have to take a foriegn language. In this setting it is fast paced and a lot to take in. This app really does help with a lot of vocabulary and understanding. Though it would be even better if it had a grammar module.

Mostly good, but 1. Volumes in audios change too much. Sometimes can barely hear the audio, sometimes it's way louder... 2. Some words come up way too many times in a row. I don't want the same word 4-5 times repeatedly.

The app is super fun to learn in. It's just like attending an actual Spanish class. I love this app so much because it focuses on picturesque learning. I recommend this app to everyone who's new to learning a foreign language as well as experienced learners. And also buying the paid version helps because you aren't stuck with 5 minutes for every 10 hours. You get unlimited time and with that your learning becomes LIMITLESS.

Until last Dec. this would have been a 5 stars. April 12, 2021 Have been downgraded AGAIN to only the free version although paid thru year's end. If this nonsense doesn't stop I certainly won't be spending any more money on this erratic app. Too bad, because the teaching method is sound. Dec '20, double billed for this year's premium subs to the tune of $70. Only receiving the free version. Clicking on help does no good. Billed $35 Nov 21 despite cancelling FED UP, SEND MY REFUND!

The update this year adding sound effects and streaks after each answer really puts me off. I know I'm only doing 5 minutes a day so I'm in a headspace of cramming out as many answers as I can, hearing an intrusive sound and having a little animation get in my way totally disrupts my flow. If streaks are going to be put of the app, they should be in the background while I continue to answer questions. The split between Castilian and Mexican Spanish needs better signposting.

I used to love drops but now every time I try to log in, the screens cold on the opening screen "Drops". I tried to update, log in again and again but didn't work. I thought it could be something on my phone but all the apps are working fine. :(

Easy to use, engaging, unpretentious, no frills method that encourages you to memorise through repetion. Combines written, visual and audio learning for a more complete and, likely, more effective learning experience. Trialling for free with neither obligation nor any benefit to rate 5 stars.

This is to update my previous review where I mentioned that I could not hear the pronunciations of words. Not only did drops give me a solution to download the international app but said that they would fix the glitch in my app. Sure enough, this morning I could hear the pronunciations on the app I originally installed. I appreciate a company that communicates and follows through!! Thank you!!!

I like the app but I have 2 recommendations.. 1. Users only see the number of the words they learned via app. I also want you show the number of the words I have already know. 2. You can add a fast mood. Sometimes I feel its kinda wasting time while waiting the transitions. The faster, the better. ;)

I'm not sure yet if this is a keeper - that voice is TERRIBLE - totally flat, toneless and and lifeless, it's actually quite disturbing. But I suddenly got a word pronounced by a different voice, and she sounded alive, at least! Downside, no sentences, upside, I appreciate the "jet vocab", however funny the choices of first words are. PS! I'm only on day 2, I hope this improves. Edit: A few more days on I simply can't stand it - I want the listening bit, but not from a robot! Delete!

Update - 3/14/22 -Drops my favorite Castilian Spanish app. At 1st 5 minutes a day doesn't seem like enough time but as I grow into it, perfect. I find myself learning quickly, retaining words. GET IT! Great app for Castilian Spanish. I have 5 different apps including Drops, I have been using the 1st 4 nearly 3 years, while I still considered myself a beginner. After 5 months with Drop daily, I am learning phrases and I really like the different formats to learn the vocabulary and spelling.

Drops is an excellent application that combines a visual example with simple exercises that gradually increase in skills. The app makes it easy to learn and remember vocabulary. I tested it on a language that I already knew and would recommend it to anyone.

Awesome and Fun app for memorizing words. My only downside is only getting 5 minutes of play for every 10 hours. Though if you do the monthly subscription for a year, its only not even 4.00 a month and its unlimited play time. This is the Type of app you want if you to go hand in hand with an actual Spanish learning app. this app only teaches you words, not anything else.

If you use Drops you can firstly reject outright any word or phrase offered, either because you know it or you don't want to know it. secondly it provides a revision dojo using an algorithm thirdly you can remove any word or phrase from the revision dojo fourthly it has a favorites which you have total control over. words or phrases you want to practice more go in this. fifthly you can practice any subject matter you choose on any given day. some words and phrases are in more than one category if appropriate. Learning by pictures instead of word for word translation allows you to think in the language you are learning, rather than the slow process of thinking in your mother language and translating in your head. Drops has regular 5 minute practice sessions for free. You can subscribe for more, or buy it outright.

An app like this can realistically only be used for objects like clothes, food, furniture etc, yet they try to teach you pronouns and verbs with extremely minimalistic (and often demonically ugly) pictures. The idea is good, but it should be focused on objects and have more detailed drawings for them.
