The app is not the most user-friendly. The batches are consistent, but for the amount of work and time spent on an order, it's not always worth it. I had one batch that was for one person but triple a normal order. The amount appears to be based on milage and tip. At a certain point, large orders should require a minimum tip or fee. This order took too long to complete for a mere $12, which is the same for much smaller orders. This was not worth the time and effort spent.

Do not shop for Instacart!!!! I tried to start again after taking a break and after spending over an hour shopping a large batch the app got frozen and wouldn't proceed to the delivery step. It took forever to actually talk to a support agent. I kept getting disconnected. When I finally was able to chat with someone the batch had already been assigned to someone else and my account suspended as if I had done something wrong. I had to go back into the store and return all the items.

Absolutely horrendous driver support and app function. Don't even bother signing up because they will just put you on a waiting list. Then if you make the mistake of changing your phone number while waiting, they make you go through a complicated process where only people who have phone contracts can provide the phone bill information whereas pre-paid phone customers are just screwed. Every time you try to go back and communicate with the driver services, you get booted from the conversation.

The app crashes multiple times a day. When shopping at a store that you have to scan the QR code, sometimes the scan option won't appear and it takes FOREVER to go back to the dashboard to refresh the app. Sometimes that still doesn't fix it and you still have to take 15 minutes on a chat to fix. Please don't even get me started on the fact that even as a 5 star shopper, you barely see batches while others with lower ratings, sitting right next to you have orders all day on their screen! Ugh!😡

Overall, I enjoy Instacart as a side-gig. However, there is a LOT of room for improvement in the app. It crashes too frequently when scanning items, and there are WAY too many issues that occur at checkout. Stop changing pin numbers with every batch, and a lot of the checkout issues will go away.

Unable to scan back of drivers license, no help option or contact option and won't let me go back. Tried deleting and re-installing, various lighting while trying to scan, and tried everything I could think of while connected to wifi. The app gives me network error after I take pic manually. I really wanted to start working, and this is hindering me from doing so! As far as your response, it's not a delivery issue! Not taking the time to read anything written.

EDIT x2 still freezing. They took away the 'Best time to Shop' feature!!! I used this all the feature ALL OF THE TIME! Edit again: app still freezes and I have to reboot phone sometimes. They do have a cool map feature telling you which stores might have a batch within the next 30 minutes. Wish it would work in smaller markets, though. I also like the hide batch feature.

Absolutely love this app, I make so much money daily that I no longer struggle just for gas and smokes, but here lately there have been some issues. Prices change from accepting an order to finishing it and it's not the customer. It's every time. It's normally a dollar or less but that adds up! Also the GPS on customer addresses needs a major overhaul. Other then that, it's wonderful! Very easy to use!

This app needs work. The constant changes and relentless bugs are frustrating. I can't finish check out to get to the delivery step without it telling me it is having an issue every time now, and it's been happening for over a year. I also find it condescending when the app shows incorrect aisle numbers, then on the same store, it doesn't provide aisle numbers at a different shop. There's constantly changes, and not always good changes. The unreliability of this app is very stressful.

It's a great place to make money. Unfortunately, the app has a ton of glitches, and customer service isn't always on the same page when telling you things. I've had orders removed by accident while with customer service and didn't get paid. They also do not update customers' addresses when they're wrong in the app, but correct on Google Maps. Some customers have had repeated problems with this issue.

When it glitches, it glitches. It takes forever to load from checkout to delivery no matter if wifi is connected or not. In certain locations, I can't see the address and have to wait valuable minutes for it to decide to load because it's not connecting to any data or wifi. But overall it's fine.

I've lost access to alcohol delivery batches because of an error with the recertification video. I've contacted multiple instacart support representatives and shown them that when I click to complete the video, I'm getting an error 400, which is a coding issue on instacarts end. I passed the test and verified my license/registration, but because of the video, I am not able to complete the recertification, meaning my batch access is restricted for no reason.

Ever since the update this app is terrible. I already had issues where it would freeze but now I have issues where items are posted in the wrong aisles, it freezes more, it doesn't scan for most of meijers purchases so I have to manually input them. This is just a mess. If it ain't broke don't fix it seems to fit with this situation

So far after using the app a few months it's been a decent experience. The only issue I have is how an order that I'm alerted to is being sent to everyone in the area at the same time I miss out. Especially when I immediately try to accept the order once the alert comes through but somehow its taken by another user at the same time I get alerted.

Update: Ok, so now with the latest update, the app crashes from time to time. Frustrating when you're in the middle of an order. Also, my custom greeting doesn't load. I have to write it every time I want to introduce myself. And, it doesn't show me the customer's replacement unless I scan a replacement first. Only then does it show the customer's second choice. Extremely frustrating!

The app is extremely slow and buggy. Camera scanner is also glitchy. I dont recommend taking batches with more than one order if at all right now. Had to cancel a 3 person batch because the app stopped loading at the register and the whole cart of 70+ items needed re-separated and re-checked out with a line of people waiting and annoyed cashiers. It wasn't worth the time or labor to redo everything over. Uber is a better option right now while instacart figures out its tech issues.

I am having issues with the app where it won't open, I get stuck on the green screen with the carrot. When it goes past that screen, I input my number, and I never receive the text with the code, so I am unable to log in. I already uninstalled and re-installed the app multiple times.... update- I reached out through FB and that was no help, they don't even give a code to sign in or anything all they say is that they'll let someone know and to look out for an email and they never send an email.

New issue just started and I can't find a solution and it's very frustrating. The camera in the app itself is off. When I take pictures everything is where I expect it to be. In app everything is off center or turned sideways. Makes scanning barcodes almost impossible.
