Existence Is Pain And I Am Screaming
Awesome app. A tad issue-laden, pretty slow and unintuitive. Does what it's meaning to do, and more- just not all too user-friendly. Love it, though! Worth a download either way.

pretty reliable app, but when I tried to confirm my email it forced me to make a new account with the same email now it cutoff my original account and I can't change my email or password or upload any new observations, also a strange pop-up notification appeared in my app but it was written in Chinese which I found concerning considering the language I set for the app is English.

I've been trying to use iNaturalist and it's sister app Seek but it seems as though both apps are great at doing the exact opposite of what they were designed for. iNaturalist is intended to be the app where you post and track your observations and Seek is the app that you use to MAKE the observations to then transfer and track on iNaturalist. The problem is that iNaturalist is much better than Seek at identifying species but has terrible UI and Seek has great UI but is terrible at identifying.

This app used to be great, but now it's asking me to change my password and confirm my email address, and even when I try to do that, it gets stuck loading on "Updating Profile". Judging from other recent reviews, it looks like I won't be keeping the app for much longer.

App no longer reads location from Exif in photos and location has to be manually entered. Yes, location permission is enabled, although I don't think that has anything to do with reading location from Exif. Please add that back or fix it. Thanks.

I love this app but the last month it's not uploaded any location information. I've not changed any settings and have spent much time cross checking my settings to make sure it has all the access needed. Discouraging, I enjoyed learning so much

Fairly accurate, although often doesn't identify at all Update: app will not allow me to use it without access to my mic and audio recordings suddenly. I only ever use images and it won't allow access suddenly now out of no where. Not wanting you listening to me randomly thanks! Sad as it was a good app

Pretty good app. I gave it 4 stars because it's still glitchy on my pixel 7. I keep getting a message to confirm my email and change my password. After making the necessary changes, the app doesn't save my info, even though the developers claimed to have fixed this issue with the 9/5/23 update.

Just upgraded to Android 13 on OnePlus 9 pro and a few things don't work anymore. The app doesn't recognise that it has location permission and prompts me to grant it. Also the option to enable notifications on the app Android settings is greyed out - not sure if this one is for the developer or for Android.

I really enjoy this app as a way to involve the community in surveying for insects, animals and plants. Users get to help identify specimens and compare photos and known range from a quite inclusive database. ** One thing that to would love to see, is the RG (research grade) marking on personal entries. The marking shows up in the explore platform, but to see if your own contribution has been accepted as research grade, you have to click on it and scroll to the section. I

great app! a bit easier to navigate than the website, though it has fewer options (like following inat users). it's fun to add annotations to other observations that are missing some. maybe that is just because i am incredibly autistic. also, some genera pages with their automatically displayed wikipedia articles show the wrong article! i found no way to report the problem. example: genus Nepa shows an article about the village and market center in nepal.

This is a great app but at the moment for some reason the location isn't automatically appearing when making an observation - I have to enter it manually. Also quite a few features are lacking on the mobile version - its okay but the desktop version is much nicer.

Most accurate photo recognition app for plants that I have found. iNaturalist seems much more committed to accuracy than the other apps. It will only get better as more people contribute. And it is free!! I like the maps (though sometimes it is hard to get them to open) and the community identification process. Well done!

I moved to a very different area where I didn't know any flora or fauna. This app helped me identify nearly 150 species, including what's indigenous & isn't, what looks scary but is actually good & not aggressive and what's pretty, but harmful. HOWEVER, there's a reoccurring glitch with zoomed in photos (whether zoomed in before upload or zoomed in using the app). Zooming in is often necessary to help the app identify the right thing, but this glitch causes the photo to disappear. PLEASE FIX!

A great citizen science app! It's like a combination tricorder and logbook. I originally wanted something to help me ID what I saw on dog walks and remote work sites. I find it much easier to use the app to log an observation than the full website. The automatic ID feature is fairly strong for animals, a little less so for plants that aren't in bloom. If you prefer not to share observation data by default, try the iNaturalist Seek app instead, a pretty good casual field guide.

Crashes within 5 minutes of searching with Explore feature. Has been this way since installation, about a year ago. No fixes yet. iNaturalist's best feature is the Explore applet. The map search is a nice idea, it's a shame therefore it's not more robust. Overall the site is a nice one; ofc the site is more stable than the app.

This is one of the best apps I've downloaded!! It's great for identifying species, and lets you compare your photo to others in order to find the correct species. Then you can see the common name and scientific name! People can add their opinion if they think you are correct or incorrect in your identification as well, which is super helpful!

This is a great app with nearly flawless species identification abilities. The user community is also very polite and scientifically thinking. The appearance and layout of the app is appealing and easy to use. However, the app is very slow on Android and as a result I find it difficult to post, edit, and correct my posts. This is why I only gave it four stars. I highly recommend this app to anyone who loves nature or needs to identify something quickly and accurately.
