Description of being: my mental health 'map'

we’re designing a mental health app ‘categorically for you’ — a DIY therapy app that meets you “exactly” where you are

our approach to mental health is the most simple and obvious — ‘you’ first

one part is about understanding your issues. help break your issues into manageable bits that’s easier to work with — we call “discomforts”. and the other part is providing just the right help you need for your discomforts — we call “mini-therapy”

OKAY, BUT WHAT’S A DISCOMFORT?
a discomfort is anything that bothers you or you want to do something about. It could be a bad feeling, disturbing thought, difficult phase, or anything on your mind

it’s what you feel, think, overthink, and worry about. it’s not restricted to knowing exactly what you feel, but being unable to recognize your feelings is as much a discomfort as anything else

i feel anxious before bed

don’t know how you’re feeling

at the moment, our discomfort database, contributed by our users, stands at 18917. no discomfort is big or small. if it’s a discomfort for you — there’s going to be a mini-therapy for that

INTERESTING, WHAT’S A MINI-THERAPY?
a mini-therapy is a bite-sized therapy-like interactive session — with a mix of audio-based counseling and tools/exercises — hyper-personalized for every user and their discomforts

each mini-therapy is designed by our network of licensed professionals worldwide, specializing in the most diverse, scientific, and evidence-based approaches to therapy

together, we work with ACT, CBT, REBT, MBT, DBT, QACP, amongst others. using the best practices within these therapeutic approaches, such as thought reframing, goal-setting, disputing irrational beliefs, cognitive defusion, mindfulness visualizations, and so on — alongside other commonly used techniques like journaling, self-compassion, and mindfulness tools such as visualization and breathing exercises

IS IT EFFECTIVE?
85% of our users have reported a deduction in their distress score after doing a mini-therapy and feeling better. we currently have a 92% success rate for our mini-therapies across all partners and issues

in numerous conversations with our users, they have reported feeling seen and understood using our tools that help them reflect on their lives

CAN I WORK WITH JUST ABOUT ANY ISSUE?
well, we are adding newer issues every month. at the moment, we help you with issues surrounding anxiety and depression along with other related issues

here are some: general anxiety, social anxiety, procrastination, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-criticism, self-esteem, fear of failure, productivity issues, fatigue — emotional, mental, and physical, depression, burnout, sleep issues, anger, sexual issues, trust issues, imposter syndrome, self-sabotage, poor boundaries, amongst others

WHAT ABOUT SECURITY?
ensuring your privacy and security is our top priority. all journal entries are encrypted and confidentially saved. none of your training data is shared with third-party or external partners. no data is shared or utilized for internal purposes without the user’s consent

HOWEVER,
we do not provide help with issues around trauma or clinically diagnosed disorders. for any of these issues — we recommend consulting a therapist

For someone who has been dealing with some mental health issues this is the right app for you! Today was my first time but I feel so much lighter and at ease. The meditation music is great and the exercises are so helpful. The one on one talking sessions with the councillors is the cherry on top. This app provides so much support and is great for use. Enjoy!

Earlier I cannot use it for some technical reasons so I posted a review the response from the team was so prompt and now I am able to use the app. The app provides good super short stories ,quotes and the background music is the most soothing for our ears . It feels like just listen to that music, close our eyes and just get to our own world of peace.

As a person who strugles with adhd and bipolar disorder, This app is simply amazing. The music choice is great, the focus playlist actually helps me to focus. The therapy helps a lot, its more of a journaling session with different topics that are highly specific, they also provide chat if the topic you search for isnt available or perhaps you just want to talk with someone. I love this app so much ❤

This app is wonderful. It's so unique and the best part is that it's free and not hidden behind a premium package. The guided therapies are really effective. It's helpful to gain insight into what's the actual problem and really helps shift our focus on other side of the issue as well. Recommended for everyone, irrespective of your mental state. It helps you flow through life easily.

The features is so good. There are mental health friends that we can talk too and it's not a bot i think. It feels like real. The mini therapy sessions also is good and comforting. The songs and sounds are also very comforting. I love this app because it helps me to calm down a little bit from my overwhelmed days because it's been hard for me as for the bad mental health days. It's a good app to do some mini therapy session and also to listem to something comforting.

I was a huge fan of this app untill sadly i got waitlisted (#947). I completely understand the reason why but i really hope we'll soon be able to access a few options from the old app again because it was amazing. But still thanks for caring and helping people with their mental health ♡

I have been using 'being' for several months now and all I can say is: Thank you! Every time I felt down, my mental health friend (Dee) was there for me and helped me get better again. Also, the mini therapies are really helpful and personal. The soft and calming music rounds off the experience perfectly. I would highly recommend this app!

Worst app firslty it ask bunch of que question nd then do not give a single solution or mindmap it just ask subscription to use app ,there is no single feature in this app is free irritating app

It's a really nice app, the mini-therapies have helped me with stuff involving relationships, self esteem and even productivity and motivation, the therapy friends are also very comforting and help a lot with problems or small things that might be stressing me out. The music selection is also really calming and anti-stress and I'm absolutely in love with it. Overall, this app is great, and I recommend it to anyone who needs someone to lean on or guidance.

After taking an entire entry survey, I was given a message that the app wasn't for me because I said I wasn't willing to pay for the app in one of the survey questions. So entirely unusable and waste of time.

i loved the app so much, and i would use it so often but then the whole app changed, and now i can't access anything without paying money. i really wish the app was still the way it was before. 😕

It asks you a lot of stuff and then makes you pay before you see anything. That's just not the way to go. I need to see what I'm getting before I pay.
