Description of Voidpet Garden: Mental Health

Descend into the void, and befriend mysterious creatures that spawn from your emotions.
Nurture your oasis through mindfulness and self care.
Collect all of the rare species that visit your garden of consciousness!

Our mental health relies on our understanding of the self just as much as it depends on our understanding of the people around us.
Learning how to communicate our care to others, and to appreciate the care that they are trying to show us, is an ongoing process in our wellness journey.

To befriend new pets, you must communicate with them in their preferred love language and earn their affection.

- Quality Time pets appreciate being present with those they care about. They will want to spend time with you, and encourage you to take breaks, exercise, and more.
- Words of Affirmation pets place a lot of value on making the effort to communicate things verbally. They will confide in you about how they are feeling, and prompt you to respond with kindness.
- Gift giving pets feel most cherished when you consider them enough to share something they'll like. To befriend a gift lover, you'll have to collect the right kinds of treats to surprise them with.
- Acts of service pets place a lot of value on actions that speak louder than words. If you can spare a second to make their lives easier, they'll happily come back to your garden.
- Some pets just love a good cuddle. You'll be able to earn their trust with relaxing haptics and ASMR.

Voidpet's approach to mental wellbeing is to provide a space for you to reflect in soft fascination.

To grow your garden, check on your plants every day and discover mindfulness exercises that nourish your soul.
Choose from a selection of journaling prompts such as:
- Think positive: Inspired by cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, which involves identifying our cognitive biases in order to deconstruct unhelpful thoughts, this activity is about examining our negative thought patterns and learning to reframe them positively.
- Practice Gratitude: This exercise is about setting aside time to think happy thoughts and appreciate the good around us. Gratitude helps us feel warmly towards others, which, in turn, improves our relationships and overall mood.
- Goal setting: Writing down your goals is a great way to be honest with yourself and validate and your desires. To confess that you want change is the first step to making it happen. Classifying your goals is also helpful, because it helps you visualize the level of effort required to make your ambitions come true. As you think about the timeframe, relevance, and other specifics of your goal, you also start to manifest how to go about achieving them.
-Emotional naming: Naming emotions is a simple but liberating exercise. By describing how we feel in words, we turn sensations into data, and position ourselves to respond constructively. They say, "If you can name it, you can tame it!" Our conscious minds can offload a lot of stress from our physical response.
-Meditation: A simple timer with a relaxing, guided prompt. Setting aside a few seconds to breathe and reflect can be a wonderful way to start your day, or take a pause in the middle of a busy schedule.
-Mood tracking: better understand your emotions over time and gain insights into your inner world.

Great game! The design, both for the UI and the Voidpets, is very charming and the little mental health tasks are great at helping you regulate your thoughts without it becoming a chore. Though I never bought it, I'm okay with the Giga subscription as it doesn't seem to cost too much and the base game has no ads so its a good way to support the creator too.

There's no ads. Not a single one! There's an optional subscription and a paid currency, but nothing behind a paywall limits the enjoyment of the game. You just...get little guys. I love it! I just wish I could do more. I get it's a once-a-day thing, but there's so many little guys to collect and I want to get them, haha.

It looks very fun and is nice when trying to deal with mental health, but starting from the tutorial, most interactions were very choppy, I clicked on a pet and it stutters to get the menu loaded up. I would love to keep using it, but with the stuttering, it doesn't feel good; I'd reinstall it once it's no longer as choppy

I have tried a million of these mood tracker apps but this one is the only one that has stuck. It combines the addictiveness of a gacha system with self help techniques that makes doing things like meditation and mood checks feel rewarding. In order to "gacha" for the pets you must complete tasks, there are no microtransactions for it. Only if you want optional dressup components can you spend money. Plus the pets designs are so cute and cool.

It's nice, but it doesn't have a lot of things to do, maybe if you could interact more with your pets and the chat wasn't limited so much (I can send 3-4 messages a day, but make it daily, it's been 2 days since I installed it and talked to one of my voidpets), also most interesting things/things that add to the game experience are paid, the game design is cute, simple and pleasant to look at, it's nice learning about your pets as well, but I don't think it's that good as a self-care app.

The game itself is really good. It's similar to pokemon but with a more "self caring" style to it. It's fun to play but there is no tutorial and the wiki doesn't completely match the game when it comes to mechanics (whyever?). I love the experience overall but it feels like I'm missing out on some features because you have to find everything out by yourself. Would recommend tho.

I enjoyed my experience using the app. The questions asked encourage introspection and healthy positivity. Chatting with the pets feel natural and helps to get your mind off things in the moment. There's no ads which is a plus. Hope that there would be more ways to interact with the pets in the future as well as more varying types of questions and topics. Could also have suggestions/tasks for the user's to complete along with their check-ins.

Nice easy to use and it has successfully stopped me wasting as much time on my phone. Think there's a lot of room for growth and a bit more actual wellbeing stuff in there. Maybe the ability to set routines, or some more journalling options? And when you track your mood perhaps some slightly more tailored responses to it? There's great potential in this app but definitely room for more.

Love the game so far, very cute, doesn't try too hard like some others. However, the subscription you can opt into is a bit much. I'd pay $5 or $10 one time, then probably more if I were someone into micro purchases like power ups or accessories, but $3.99 every month? Pass.

Very fun collection game that doesn't require real money to play, I check in multiple times a day to see my little void friends! My only complaints are that I never feel like I have enough in-game money to buy food and level up stuff and because the pets you see are randomized I can't level up the ones I want to. I don't think favoring a pet makes it more likely for them to show up but I could be wrong. These are just small issues I have but overall amazing game!

Very chill, and one of the only self care apps that works for me. The website version is really fun too. Also to the person who said theres no confirmation thing for letting go of the void pets, there's a button at the top of the screen when it shows what they say when you release them. If you click that you can get them back

I love the idea of this app and the void pet's designs/ range of emotions but it's extremely lacking. The subscription barely gives you anything outside of food and the occasional outfit piece and giving you extra space for more pets. There isn't a lot to do minus tediously watering your plants over and over and there's no way to keep track of the little amount of mental health journal entries you get. This app has a lot of potential but it isn't there yet.

I love this app so much! I do wish it had alittle bit more options for imput like breathing etc. I also would like to see access to past writings become free because I would like to sew my progress but don't have the money. In apps like finch you can look back and see your moods through the month and there are lots of prompts for writing and stuff. Overall I love this app, but there is always room for improvement -:)

Wonderful little game, definitely gives you something small to do each day to help practice being mindful. The game is limited in what can be done so far, but I think that's for good reason. Honestly I hardly mind the lack of tasks, because it helps keep me from getting to engrossed in my phone. Personally my favorite "metal health game" so far.
The Fae
I love this app, it's a really simple and cute selfcare tool. I really have no complaints since the game doesn't have any glitches in the short time I've had it, no ads, and it's addicting. I do wish that a few more things were added onto, like having more emotion options in the "Name your current emotion" exercise, or maybe enough slots to get every kind of pet that's in the game. I want to collect each voidpet and all of its' variants, but there's only a hundred slots!

It's very cute but the functionality is lacking. There is no log of previous "journal" entries, a pet may bring up a goal from before but the app is incredibly limited. There's maybe a handful of prompts to water/nourish the plants and the repetitiveness is tiring. I wanted to enjoy this game and it's worth a try but I'm putting it down for now.

I adore this game but recently had to completely restart because I got a new phone and there is no way to restore the data from my old account, losing many vivid pets and just pets in general. Cloud save and storage is necessary before I fix my rating as that would have prevented this. When cloud storage becomes a thing my rating will jump from 3 to 5 stars. This game is amazing, cute, sweet, and funny, helps with my mental health and is great, I'm excited to see where it goes.

Remember when digital pets were in a physical egg and how ppl couldn't understand the level of companionship with oneself those pets created. The ideas this app presents are pleasantly useful and bring back that nostalgia for me. The AI feature is a really nice touch. The evolution feature is pretty interesting for both the trees and the pets. I've had the app for about two weeks.
