Was looking for a new swipe-typing keyboard and was excited to try out this new design, but it only supports a few swipe gestures for things like del & caps. I do appreciate the effort for privacy, focus on efficiency, & dev's response. Tho, considering 1-handed input,I don't believe thumb typing by poking at the keyboard could be better than swipe-typing, (disclaimer: this statement is based on the unpublished unverified results of trials with a sample size = 1. ie try it out for yourself.).=)

It's neat, and somewhat useful, but the predictive text and auto correct are just plain stupid sometimes, such as "correcting" "I" (which is a word) with "T" (which is not a word), and "correcting" words that are spelled correctly with completely different words. Good app but definitely needs tweaks. Underlining text with a drop down word replacement would be appreciated.

I have been using Typewise for a couple of years now. It isn't perfect, but it is improving over time. The autocorrect is now quite good, althiugh perhaps not quite at the level of Google Keyboard. I love the intuitive capitalization, deleting, and scrolling. I will likely never go back to a conventional keyboard for that reason alone. this keyboard is probably not for everybody, and you really have to get the premium version to maximize its potential, but I really like it.

Great concept here and a bit of a learning curve. Really liked it was more gesture based like my phone's OS, but it's missing some key features like the "swipe/glide" to text and also a button for speech to text. Also was disappointed that you have to sign up for a subscription at $10 a month, that's a bit steep.
A Google user
I like the keyboard, it isn't hard to adjust to and I do type faster with it. But.... I won't be keeping it. I personally think that a subscription business model for a keyboard isn't for me. A weather service yes, movie streaming sure, but for a keyboard, not really. If they changed to a one payment to own, I would sign up right away. There are lots of other keyboards that offer the same premium services for free. Just my 10 cents

The concept and execution are pretty incredible. I feel like the autocorrect could be a little bit more intuitive, as it doesn't seem to account for letters that are in close proximity to determine what the intended work could be, like Minuum "sloppy typing." Would be awesome to be able to toggle the space keys off since there is a swipe-to-space feature. Would be awesome to have long-press symbols on keys. Would be awesome if the swipe-to-delete "snapped" to words for greater accuracy, too.

I understand trying to make their money off of this, but putting things like vibrating with each keystroke is just too far. I'll use it once in a great while, but not for long. EDIT: To the developers response, removing that function from behind the paywall alone would make a significant difference. I do like the concept of this keyboard, but some things should remain basic functions.

Really interesting concept that I'd like to spend more time with. Unfortunately, doesn't have haptic feedback. Even if you pay, you only get vibration and it feels awwwfuuulll. Using Gboard, the key presses feel like you're actually pressing a real key, with Typewise it literally buzzes the whole phone. For me, this is a deal breaker so I'm canceling my trial unless it gets fixed. It's also just completely missing voice dictation which seems like a pretty big oversight.

This looks like an innovative keyboard app, but I feel like there is some bait and switch going on. Immediately after installing the app, it tried to connect to the internet. It tried to make over 40 connections to multiple servers. They do not disclose on the Play Store page that you must pay for the version that doesn't make internet connections.

I liked the layout of the keyboard. Was still getting used to swiping to delete. I can see the appeal, but it felt like it took multiple tries to get it to work, so a backspace key would be a nice option. That particular issue was made worse by the fact autocorrect would not work no matter what I did. I sent a support request a week and a half ago during my 7 day trial. No response. Shame, because I liked the app and considered purchasing, but without autocorrect it's useless.

Quite a learning curve, but not impossible. I actually like the new update much better. Only issue is most times when I'm scrolling for a special character it selects one when I didn't tap it. Still my favorite keyboard though. I really like a lot of the shortcuts, and suggestions and auto correct are SO much better than Gboard. If you spend some time with it, it really is phenomenal.

I love this app... main reason being: the input method. For 1 example... pressing anywhere on the keyboard, while swiping left, deletes letters, based on the speed of your swipe. Retrospectively, swiping right, in the same manner, restores all deletions. It feels like the keyboard version of time travel. Very clever thinking! Another favorite would be the customizable features (as well as the layout choices). They all look good, visually. Highly recommended keyboard.

I like the variety of features available. User-developer feedback looks pretty good. I really wanted to like the hexagon keyboard, but after trying to type notes, send text and type searches for an hour I just had to switch back to the traditional (Why would you ever want spaces in the center?). I put in my vote on the website for custom hexagon buttons. Really hoping it gets prioritized before adding languages, because a keyboard like that isn't going to make sense in any language.

TW makes typing much faster and easier, generally speaking. But "add to dictionary" doesn't work well, and I would really like to rearrange some keys, such as swapping the J and C, so that C and K can be next to each other since many words have a ck, whereas j is less common. The autocomplete is a bit wonky; if you go back to add words to the middle of existing text, every time you tap on a suggested word, it adds that word but deletes the word to the right of it, making it hard to edit text.

I love the idea but the only issue is that my keyboard and the keyes are really low on the screen and i can't change that without paying money. Won't be using it as it's extremely uncomfortable to use when holding the very bottom of my phone to access the keyes. The app has a lot of potential but this one issue is a huge setback. This, and the bright blue is very ugly on the keyboard.

I was interested to try this since i'm not the best texter. However, I was immediately turned off when I saw that there was no backspace. i think scrolling to undo or redo your text is a cool feature, but it shouldn't be the only option. All the gestures you have to do to reach certain characters also isn't very convenient. I hope more tweaks are made for this keyboard because I still think it has potential. For now though, I have to uninstall it.

What an insane learning curve. Downloaded the keyboard because I am constantly making typos. I thought I could fix that with typewise. And maybe I could have. But there is such an insane learning curve. I thought I'd give it a week and if I didn't get used to it I'd just delete it. I make it roughly 12 hours before switching back. Giving 4 stars because I feel like the app deserves it. Just not for me. Also content locked behind pay wall is an awful business practice.

I really want to like this keyword. The layout is great, it's got a fresh design, but it really isn't as smart as Swlftkey. I'm not sure if it's the prediction or grammar functionality. It doesn't automatically capitalize after a period, sometimes it doesn't put a space. The other problem holding it back is the cost prohibitive pro version. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this keyboard when there are better and less costly alternatives.
