Doesn't work most of the time. Only thing it consistently did was track the time and I can use a stop watch app for that. 75% it didn't show a map of my run. 50% of the time it didn't track the distance. Now incase you think I'm running in places with no cellphone reception: no! I run on the same route that it recorded the map and distance the previous day. I will be deleting after this review.

I like and use this and its associated apps (MapMyFitness, MapMyRide) to track not only my exercising, but also my travels at times. overall, very good. The main thing I would suggest is turning off voice notifications by default. Everytime I reset my phone or get a new phone, I have to manually turn off voice notifications on all three. I'm sure others appreciate the voice prompts, but I find it interferes with my listening to music or audio books as I exercise.

I use this app to track hikes and bike rides. Mileage and speeds are very accurate and the app saves workouts online making it easy to look them up later and track your total mileage monthly or for the year. I don't like the fact that you can't see statistics until the workout has synced with the cloud. Sometimes it takes days before the workout syncs. I've tried to work around that by forcing a manual sync but for some reason that doesn't usually work either. Other hiking apps might be better.

Great app. I use it for rucking instead of running. Does a great job either way. App has never failed mid workout. I start it when I step off and put it in the ruck. It gives me pace and distance traveled at each mile mark through my headset. I don't have to think about it again until I finish the workout, pull my phone out of the ruck and tell it I'm done. It tracks the route, distance pace and gives me a chance to log some comments on the workout and a pic if I choose to.

Great app for tracking my runs. I like the coaching and verbal feedback. However, i think the split times are wrong. It'll say something like my total mileage is two miles in 15:30 with a split time of 7:15....Which i can't figure out. Other than that, i really like it. 👍 Update: a little annoyed now...i try to use the feature where i can share a workout via text message, but it is unresponsive after i choose my recipient. I've used it before, so i know it works.

Had the app for ~5 years. Before I would have given it 4-5 stars. However over the last ~half a year, I've had multiple issues (audio reporting my average pace as 'not moving' on multiple runs, not allowing me to upload photos to some workouts, having to exit the app in order to save a workout, etc.). The problems resolve themselves eventually, but then new problems arise. I have traditionally loved the app, but the recent frequency of bugs has made it frustrating to use at times.

Great at tracking the miles. I love the feature where it tells you your current mile. I also love the information it gathers from the run or walk. My only complaint is that I'm super tired at the end of a workout, and there is a serious delay on the pausing feature from the tab in the pull down menu of the phone. It pauses fine from inside the app. But when I finish a run, I want convenience so I can stop it as soon as I finish the workout, not after I catch my breath.

Convenient and easy to use. Derived stats are useful. Items provided with free service are nice and very fair. Annual price for paid service is very reasonable. Live tracking is great, though I wish it could be accessed via desktop too. If one finishes workout but doesn't save, run course and therefore last location disappear from view of those watching live tracking. I wonder, if one has an accident and mobile device is damaged, is it likely that the app "workout" would remain active, showing location of runner? Or would a damaged device likely cause workout to end without saving, leaving the person's location unknown? It would be good if the workout course remained visible to others in that time between the workout ending and the workout being saved. I have yet to explore whether or not stats can be pulled out to show degree of improvement in performance throughout a particular span of time. I would hope so. It would be nice if one could access (if training with a mic), via voice command, a real-time voice-to-text log for entering observations as one trains.

I've been using map my run on and off for years and love it! Simple. Tells you how far, time, and estimated times and distance based on those stats, all along with mapping where you went. Which is nice when you run outside and like to switch up your routes. I don't really use any additional features past that. I once used the interval feature a couple years ago and liked it as well. Overall a great app, would recommend.

For the most part, I'm pleased with the app. My main complaint is about how you can't fix data before you save a workout. You have to save it with incorrect data then go edit the just saved workout. The problem with this is that when it's syncing with other apps, the only thing that is synced is the incorrect data that was saved first.
A Google user
This is the *only* running tracking necessary for me. This app doesnt necessarily let you click and create routes (you do that on the website), but it does allow you to save routes you've just run, as well as see routes others have run in your area. In addition, the app offers live coaching, so it can tell you once you've completed the next split, what your average pace was, etc. I love that it is all customizable, and it makes running more fun!
Carter Fair
I am very pleased with this app. The GPS tracking gives me an accurate map of where I've ran, and I love that it informs me everytime I've completed another mile. The only thing I would change is the speed at which the workout pauses, I feel like it lags whenever I pause the workout and won't pause for another 30 seconds (although that could just be a problem with my phone)

Went to this app after Endomondo was retired. Frankly, Endomondo was better. I liked it's simplicity I was getting better at using it. Now on MMR. I dislike the pause button on the screen with the running stats and route. It's too easy to pause at the slightest touch. I've had it go on pause in the middle of a run. Then when I check it during a run it shows that the timer stopped. Very annoying and inconvenient. Good thing I back up with my Fitbit. Do something about that pause button .

Very user friendly interface. Varying levels of built in assistance; whether you just want to open the app and start running with the press of a button, or want to create and track a complex series of workouts. The biggest benefit to me personally, this is the only running app I have found that works accurately in the Middle East. While deployed to Iraq, this app kept me going, accurately measuring distances and pace.

Edited 5/2021: Ads are MUCH better. Upgrading review to 4 stars. Thank you! Developer, take note: this is a downgraded review. in-app ads have suddenly been changed to ads with audio. This might not seem like a big deal, but I have to have the volume cranked to the maximum to hear my stats as I exercise in the morning. Then, I get home and finish my workout as I'm walking in the door...and all of a sudden, my phone is blaring out like a trumpet. This is not cool. Considering another app now. :/

Syncs with Calorie tracking app by the same company. Distance tracking doesn't work very well when offline. But that makes sense because GPS needed. I like all the update settings: Tells me the pacing, distance, time, and time of day after a specified distance interval. This means I can run half mile increments for a certain amount of time. Helps me be flexible with my workouts when I need to get a lot done with school, work, or just cleaning up around the house. Also syncs with your smartwatch

The app works ok as a workout log. Not so well as a tracker. Sometimes it will stop tracking for no apparent reason. Notification system doesn't work well. Notifications are sporadic or nonexistent. Tech support is minimal. 12/10/19 After using for a few years now this app has not gotten any better. Even with paid services it doesn't do what it advertises. About the only thing that works is the log. Tracking quit working a couple of upgrades ago. Looking for an app that actually tracks.

The most important reality here is that map my run is accurate. The distance calculations are perfect, as calculated by maps and my car speedometer, but mostly accurate maps. Other running apps often are off by a few tenths of a mile and that drives me crazy. Also, this app provides a good bit of detail, customizable voice cues, and yet not so much as to be overwhelming. I consider it the best overall running app around and I have been using it for five or six years and have tried many.
