Scammy; not worth it. Kinda predatory with its subscription since it doesn't let you know before they bill you again for the new year, and it's expensive and NOT WORTH IT. I gave it a chance for a year and haven't used it much since all the audios are very robotic sounding, and there were many grammar mistakes in the book summaries. I also contacted them about my issues and they responded once and then I've been ghosted since replying.

I am sick to death of trying to open the app, only to be seeing the Headway App being unresponsive and empty. When the App does work I am reasonably happy with the content, although I would like to be able to have a choice of narrators. Some are good, some not so. I have checked my android phone for updates and everything is up-to-date, so this is not the problem.

It was ok at the beginning but the app stopped working properly and the audio wouldn't play even when connected to WiFi. Paid for the full subscription and product is faulty, Google won't refund because of some policy but legally speaking, it is a faulty product and would like a refund. Voices are automated/robotic, can't change speed as needed and there's additional in app purchases even though it's over £70 a year. Not worth it. Still no responses from either Google or headway. Such a scam.

Repetition feature does little to help me remember. It just shows me the info and asks if I remember it. I don't have to work to remember what the insight is. I'm tricked into thinking I remember it because I RECALL seeing the info before. This is a great app for lifelong learners. It's great to help you quickly absorb new info and spark curiosity. It's well worth the investment if you stick to one or two books a day. Make sure to read AND listen simultaneously to get the maximum benefit!

I used the Headway app for a year, but I didn't like it much. The summaries are well-written and informative, but they don't replace actual books. Many important details are left out, so I found myself reading the whole books anyway. Additionally, I found that the ideas didn't stick with me as well after reading a summary as they did after reading the entire book.

I don't get the negative reviews. If you just manage your subscriptions well and are careful with paying anything/pay with PayPal then it's just amazing. I absolutely love this app!! I've 'read' 5 books today - it's amazing to get a taste of a book see if you like it, make notes. When I like a book I'll listen to it 2-3 times. Whilst doing other things! I really love it. Just a shame that I can't cast the sound to my Google Nest so I can listen on loudspeaker. Haven't tried with Bluetooth.

Very disappointed with this app. Advert shows infographics but the app itself is only short book summary texts. A number of which aren't that great IMO. An additional fee must be paid for infographics. Feel that the subscription process is misleading...I opted to pay a 'more cost effective' yearly price but missed out on the free trial, and almost immediately after our hasing wish I hadn't purchased at all. Wouldn't recommend.

Stupidly didn't read the reviews before downloading and signing up. Paid an initial subscription fee, then an infographic fee (which I didn't want) was added via click throughs and auto paid, then you're required to pay the full £72+ for the year. There's no clear indication of what subscriptions are for. If the app and content is as good as marketed then I'd have no problem with a £72 annual charge but the misleading and confusing approach to subscriptions and billing is a real turn off.

It gives you audio summaries of books. Great, but they stop playing as soon as the screen is off. It's a waste of time and energy having the screen on when it provides no additional information. And if you let your screen time out, it often forgets what book and what chapter you were in. And if it was free,I'd get it ,ut it's also bloody expensive for such a poor user experience. Also i, read many of the books it's recommended an, that's cool I'd.love a refresher. The summaries are surface level

I am so thrilled to discover Headway. I prefer to read, as I am a visual learner. The precise structure of the summaries and content suit my style of scanning text to locate keywords. More importantly, it is exhilarating to have completed pages of summary and then move onto another text. More information in less time helps a busy scheduled brain to either grasp concepts easily or to take a break. Either way, it's a win, win!

Based on the ads for this, I really thought this was a simple content curator, I wasn't expecting book summaries. That's on me, but the grilling to just get the app cranked up was grueling. I didn't get past it. I think the idea of this app is very misguided. I'm sure it functions fine, it's just misrepresented and not useful for me, I'd prefer to just read the books.

So far not good! I paid for 1 month access and then was faced with a million popup screens to click through to even get anywhere. Then notified more money was taken from my account for an addition that was added from one of the popup screens, I did not want. Very confusing and unnecessary. Then tried login but it won't allow it and does not register I paid for 1 month subscription. Unimpressed and see a lot of the same problems being reported. Sort it out developers!!! Awaiting support response.

Everything is great. However, as having English as my second language and reading books to learn new things and improve my English inorder to become a bilingual speaker, there should be an option where you can highlight words and it tells you the meaning of the word. I think that this would be a great feature which would help tons of people.

Grammatical errors, spelling errors, lackluster narrative voices, and misinterpretations of great writers and thinkers. I read several condensed books and was disappointed every time. Do yourself a favor: Get a library card and read the real and complete book. The book "summaries" sound like fourth grade essays (before the teacher review).

Edit: Returning the next day and all is as I'd hoped it would be. I'm a fan. My subscription seems to have taken a bit to activate, but once activated it's a super app. Great concept, but even after paying for a 3 month subscription I can't seem to do anything (and the app doesn't seem to know about my subscription). I want to like this but it's not usable.

Outlines of the books are very brief, and I've found some misspellings, but overall, it's not bad for someone looking for just the high points of a book. I do like the ability to highlight something for later, or even share it directly from the app, and the selection of reading material isn't terrible. I've actually already ready many of the books in my areas of interest, so it does have good content. Not the worst app I've ever had.

What I like about headway, is that the summaries are thoughtful enough to gain insight and understanding of a book your interested in, know the most important parts of the book, and also give you a window to decide if you want to read the whole book. Would recommend 100%. I would just like to have the option to listen to Spotify while I also listen and read to the books. I enjoy having classical music on the background while reading.

Much too expensive for what you get - and then asking for in-app purchases of additional material does not feel like an "ad-free" experience. And then when you cancel your subscription, they offer you an extension for 70% off - so I feel additionally ripped off paying full price for the initial subscription! Not a fan.
