So far, very strong app! I strongly recommend using it alongside Duolingo. This is a strong app for vocab practice, but it is not for teaching a language. For what it does, it does well, but you will not know how to apply it unless you use it as just a practicing resource, and use it alongside another app. This app is also really pretty to look at and extremely engaging! If you have ADHD, 1000% recommend Removing a star because...you only get one session a day without premium 😥

I've been using this app for over a year now. The way they help you memorize words is very helpful, which is what I need. But the quiz mode really bothers me. I never know what they're asking for. In my last quiz, they were saying that a washing machine can't often be "often" turned off, but a refrigerator could be. I enjoy the app, I just wish there was a way of fixing the quizzes.

UPDATE: Man, I don't know if it was just luck or if others were having the same issue and reached out or if accessing Drops on the browser made the difference, but finally I was able to get into the app. However, still INCREDIBLY slow, and keeps telling me it failed to load the audio/listening files. Brand new phone that I made sure is completely up to date without too many extras on it so far, but it's still taking almost 2 minutes to get going, and if I open it and try to check my profile before I try to do anything else, it freezes on me and I have to close it out and go back in. I love the concept and I've got more than 2 years in this (759 day streak right now, started Jan 1 2019), but it definitely has some bugs to figure out. Won't open on Samsung S21. I love this app so much overall (it's been REALLY slow to open lately, and transitioning from the end of the study session to the summary takes forever, but otherwise it was great), but I just upgraded from a Samsung S9+ to the S21, and Drops won't open on it. It's downloaded and claims to be compatible but all I get is the opening image, and then the phone tells me it's not responding. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, have tried restarting my phone, nothing works so far. Lifetime subscription bought, and now it's unusable. None of the other apps I use are having this issue. I really hope they figure out why it's doing this, and fix it ASAP. Will happily give a better review if they do.

It is great for vocab, isolated words. It does not appear to be for grammar. "de acuerdo" is taught to mean "okay", but in all of my experience, I have been taught that it means "in accordance", like "to agree with". I could be wrong, and it is a minor issue. For vocab for those new to a language or new to a subject area ("city", "computers", or other specifics) it seems great.

Very useful for learning new words. I would give it 5 stars, but the mistakes I reported many months ago never got fixed and still remain. Some of the audio for the words don't match what is written at all. For example, the Thai audio for the word coral is paired with one of the vegetable words. I dont remember which one, but I think it was the word for "leek". Very disappointed that the devs don't seem to care enough to fix these mistakes.

I really like the idea of this app, the vocab groups, the pictures, the interface. But some of the vocab I already know and it's frustrating to have to"learn" over again. There is an option to hide words, but what I want is an option to set the word as Known so that I still see it as review. Also, I wish some of the animations between exercises were slightly faster or fewer. I often tap the screen impatiently for the next one

I initially installed it to study Japanese for 5 minutes a day due to the restrictions of the free version. After months of using it and enjoying the lessons, I've finally upgraded to a subscription. What I love: The UI is clean, easy to navigate, and flexible. Audio clips are clear and easy to understand. Variations with the words ans even writing letters or sentences is a good variety and it doesn't feel mundane. Lastly, the adaptive learning is a really helpful feature. Definitely recommend.

New update is awful. The new categories are too specific, especially for beginners of a particular language. The older "Meet & Greet" was my go to for a language introduction while traveling, now it's gone and has been split into several other categories. To fix this, they could add the ability to add phrases to the "Review", but I can't unless I've been introduced to those specific words already

Great for learning. Easily digestible information, ads are distracting but it's pretty cheap and well worth the money in my mind. The only downside is that the app activates my motion sickness with the fast movements on screen. If there was a way to turn off or even minimize the visual effects this app would get 5 stars from me.

Not sure why this app is so unheard of. It's vastly superior to duolingo, babel, any of the others that get widespread advertising. Maybe its because Kahoot makes it, and Kahoot does the quiz games at my sons middle school lol, but they say learning a second language is always done best as a child. It's incredibly fun and effective. I got the yearly paid version, but it's not necessary- the free is great as well. I'm doing 3 languages at once! And yes, retaining all of it!

A good app for improving my speed and range of vocabulary in Spanish. One change I need to see is changing to teaching the verbs in infinitive form so that I learn which are -ar,-ir, or -er. Teaching verbs in first person singular means that now I know the meaning of the root, but I have a second round of learning elsewhere to be able to conjugate each word.

It's a great app to learn languages. I'm from the US and used to be an English teacher before I transitioned into another career in tech. The app stores your vocab that you have learned for review as a lesson by itself. This allows the learner to go back and practice the vocab that was learned from each lesson. I recommend this app to anyone trying to learn a new language.

This app is PERFECT for the languages not found in other popular apps. I only wish they had multiple voices saying the same phrases through the experience. It's the one same lady voice the entire time (so far). I also wish I could speak it back and be treated on my own pronunciation! But it's good!

I like the idea, however, I would like the option to focus on learning the words without trying to also learn a different alphabet. I do well when I am given the romanized 'spelling' but trying to remember the words and how the Japanese characters are shaped leaves me guessing more and more as I learn more words. Might try a new app soon if the ability to turn off the native alphabet is not added.

I love this app! The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because 1) I wish they would include the translation each time a word/phrase was practiced, and 2) the words and phrases in the airport section are difficult to learn because they are spoken fast and flash on and off the screen so quickly. And the phrases are not broken down word by word. For me, this is a very important section since I'll be traveling to the country soon.

It's cool in theory, but IMO doesn't really teach you a language. You basically rely on memory to match words with images, but, at least for the time I have played, it doesn't seem to delve any deeper than that. You will walk away from the app (after NUMEROUS sessions) knowing a few more words, but it doesn't build on the foundations required to actually speak the language. Sometimes, I just feel like I am wasting time that would be better being spent on alternatives such as Stone or Babble.

This app used to be great, but now, it's facing some serious coding issues. The timer freezer once every while, and a 5 minute lesson takes 9 mins to finish with frustration. 🤦🏻‍♂️ (I've updated my phone, the app, cleaned all junk files & deleted 5 gbs of unnecessary apps.) It also fails to recognize premium membership when you're offline. Not always, but most times, when I don't have access to the internet, it doesn't allow me to start a new lesson, saying I need to upgrade to premium.

A good app to supplement vocabulary alongside your studies. It's updated regularly, but this also means there are constantly bugs. Twice in the past 2 weeks my streak had to be "rescued" due to technical issues. First it was because I closed out of the app too soon I guess? This time I was mere seconds late due to lag. I guess that's partly on me for cutting it close, but seriously why is this app so laggy? Also syncing between devices is a nightmare that I don't have the characters to describe.
