Description of Stellarium Plus - Star Map

Stellarium Plus - Star Map is a planetarium app that shows exactly what you see when you look up at the stars.

Identify stars, constellations, planets, comets, satellites (such as the ISS), and other deep sky objects in real time in the sky above you in just a few seconds, just by pointing the phone at the sky!

This astronomy application has an easy to use and minimalist user interface, that makes it one of the best astronomical applications for adults and children who want to explore the night sky.

This Plus version will also satisfy the most demanding astronomy enthusiasts thanks to its massive collection of sky objects (up to magnitude 22 versus magnitude 10 in the standard version) and advanced observing features for controlling telescopes or preparing observing sessions.

I've been an occasional amateur astronomer since the 1980s. This is my first use of an e-Star Atlas and I must say that this app is amazing, very well thought out, extremely easy to navigate with very responsive zooming and an intelligent menu system. It's also a wonderful mobile teaching tool for introducing newcomers to celestial and planet motion, (using the time slider), constellations, DSOs etc. On my Samsung S9 phone the active tracking after calibration works perfectly. Very well done!

Simple to set up and explore. Extremely detailed maps with complete M, NGC, IC, UGC, ARP catalogues and color pictures. Also has advanced features for experienced hobbyists.

Great app but despite i bought the Plus Version its lacking satellite tracking witch i thought was cool ! i thought they just moved them to the payed Version... little bit disappointed but otherwise great app!

Awesome app but only giving it 4 stars. It would be perfect if you could save the details of more than one Ocular. That way you could seamlessly switch between 2 or 3 camera/telescope setups and plan your frames accordingly. The ability to do this (just like you can on the desktop version) would be immensely helpful on a mobile app.

Great app. However, some time ago the "zoom out" button went missing when an object is selected, only "zoom in" remains, which makes it impossible to pan around one-handed. Furthermore, a double-tap zoom function on any part of the sky would be a welcome addition, especially since I can't seem to highlight/select an object of 4.5 magnitude at 25° FOV so I could zoom in further. Opening visibility chart disables bottom drawer, have to reach to top left hand corner to turn of visibility chart.

Though the free version is excellent, the PLUS version opens up all the settings. These settings take it from being very good to excellent. I use the 'magnitude limit' to easily adjust the number of visible stars to match the current conditions. This alone makes it so much easier to pin point what you are looking at.

I've been an amateur star gazer for 55 years now. I enjoy knowing the location of the planets and interesting sights to see with my binoculars. I can even go back in time to 1967 to see where Jupiter was when I first started looking at the stars. An unexpected feature was the locations of visible satellites and orbiting objects!

2022: It's great but please add a filter for what's visible, including a filter forhow high ° an object is in the sky. Would be great to have filters for favourites & deep sky. It's a pain looking through all favourites to figure out which are a good ° above horizon for visual viewing 👍 Edit July 2023 : Thank you for adding filters 💕♥️💫
