Android Auto is your smart driving companion that helps you stay focused, connected, and entertained with the Google Assistant. I enjoy how it connects to my phone once I get in my truck. I don't have to search for my device, so that makes it convenient. My only complaint is that when I want to play the radio, it keeps connecting to my phone without giving me the option to decline the request. I had to manually disconnect it from the truck. Even if I turned off my Bluetooth it would reconnect.

Android auto is pretty consistent. It's usually the Bluetooth and other phone-to-head unit connections that cause problems. That said, the quality of life improvements and recent changes to the color scheme are a nice addition. Still wish the night mode auto activation was more consistent. But other than that, I'd much prefer this over Carplay any day.

My car will pick up my phone by Bluetooth, but connecting the phone to the car gives me the option of using Android Auto, what I have already down loaded or put into my phone comes across the radio of my car. I listen to my music, I can answer phone call or make them, voice proped, never taking my hands off the wheel or my eyes off the road. I think it is a great app, with a lot to offer, MAPS, SHOPPING, PLACES OF INTEREST, RESTARUANTS, and on, and on.... I just wish it wasn't on google website.

If I could, I'd have given a 3.5, so I was a bit more generous than I really feel. It works ok. Having Google maps on the screen is nice, but it drops the signal a lot more than if I just go off my phone. Also, it is so slow using Waze that it's not functional. It does a nice job of playing my audio books. So far, that's all I really use it for.

Great App, but randomly, my car screen turns black when I get a phone call while navigating with android auto. My HUD display still tells me where to turn, but my car nav screen is black. The car screen works in all other uses and applications. The ONLY WAY TO FIX this is to DELETE DATA from the Android Auto app on my phone, then re-pair/connect it to the car. Works every time. PLEASE CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITH THE APP!

Frustratingly buggy, works half the time. My family and I have used different phones, cars, USB cables and apps; with the same issues. Screen goes black upon connection or during a drive, audio control disables itself, calls ring indefinitely, freezing, etc. Also, Whoever thought it was a good idea to remove the weather/temp feature is an absolute moron. Its not a want/have feature, it's necessary.

Has been working very well the past few months! My only issue is the notifications chime. I have it turned off, but oftentimes (daily) the system will chime, but there's no notification or message. It's really annoying because I have it turned off, sometimes it beeps three times in a row and there's no notification.

We were connected to a 2022 Ford Explorer ST. Enjoyed being able to use our playlist from either Pandora or Spotify at the same time with Google Maps during our 8-hour trip. It was the first time we ever used this connection with our vehicle. Incoming calls from family worked great. We tethered the phone with a USB-C cable but do not know if it is possible to connect wirelessly to the car system. Otherwise, we were happy.

Android Auto restarts my phone at random when first connected. So it may seem like is working just fine after I make the connection with the cable and a few seconds later, while I'm already driving, it restarts my phone and connection fails because it's waiting for me to unlock my phone. Frustrating as hell. It also drains my battery by continuing to run the apps I used in the car even after I am no longer driving. Other than that, I like the the features when it's working.

The messaging feature of this app worked great when first installed on my phone for my 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe. Since the most recent upgrade, responding to messages takes multiple attempts to complete a response. The upgrade has been lousy. AA doesn't capture the spoken message as well as before. The biggest change is the loss of being able to make multiple responses to a single message on Messenger. The app indicates it has received, processed, and sent subsequent messages when it hasn't.

I have all possible settings saying to not auto start my media. It repeatedly tries to auto play my audiobooks even when I pause them right after it starts them. If I wanted to listen to my media, I would start it myself. I've repeatedly entered this problem in the "did you enjoy Android auto" messages. It has not been fixed. It's been over a year of dealing with it, and I'm tired of it. Even if it by some miracle doesn't start, it will if I can anyone.

Every time someone calls me, the speedometer on the Waze app stops working until the call is ended. Also, when I end a call after I was listening to music, the music plays at full volume and there's no way to turn it down, and it sounds horrible, like call quality sound. I have to unplug my phone and turn my radio off (cutting the car off and on again) for it to start working properly again. Why does it take like a minute or two for Android Auto to even load up in the first place?

I would say that less than 50% of the time, my phone will auto-connect to my car when I start it. Most of the time I have to manually reconnect my phone over Bluetooth, and usually it fails on the first attempt. Eventually I can get it connected, but it's super inconsistent as to whether it'll connect on its own. Typically have no issues once connected.

Android Auto is fantastic when it's working properly, but lately I cannot get it to do that. The program disconnects whenever my phone is jostled even slightly, and sometimes won't connect at all. I've tried new and different cords, taken my car in to have them look at the USB port and electronics, and even bought a new phone. None of these fixes worked, so I'm starting to think the app itself is the issue.

Voice commands don't work. Yes... I've tried all trouble shooting ideas. Google activates when I push the steering wheel button or "ok Google" then it opens the screen that shows it's listening but then does nothing. It closes that after a few seconds, then back to music or whatever I was doing. It worked fine until a couple months ago.

Apple car play works perfect in my Ford Edge. I wish I could say the same for Android Auto. If it can stay connected for 5 minutes without crashing, I consider that lucky. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, updating sync 3, different cords, different phones.... nothing helps. Apparently Apple figured this out, not sure why Google can't get it right.

I just got an update this morning. They added some buttons to the map screen from settings and the made travel status and road you are on boxes are bigger. This is pushing the navigation aid to the right. Now, literally half my map is blocked! If i have to make a left turn, it goes behind the box. Wasted space that limit the most important feature of a navigation app, the map. Why not at least make it collapsible. So disappointed.

Constantly disconnects. Unsafe to use while driving. Tired of using different cords. Any slight bump in your vehicle causes it to disconnect. The voice activation has also stopped working. Not good at all. Wire connection when it works is much faster than the wireless. Wireless connection is laggy and cuts in and out constantly. Very embarrassing. Get it together; this can potentially end lives.
