Outstanding App - well worth the cost!! The guided meditation topics are very broad, and the feature to adjust the meditation length means you can fit a focus session in anywhere during your day (even if just for 1 or 2 minutes). The Headspace staff providing the voiceovers are terrific, and it really makes you feel as if you're in a room with them. I started this app because of anxiety and depression, and now I do it every day because the habits it helps me build are reaping rewards already.

This app was fabulous for my first year. Now, it just doesn't seem to work smoothly at all. Sessions stop abruptly in the middle and there's no way to redownload them. Downloaded sessions say they're available offline but don't play or cut off in the middle. I have re-installed the app a dozen times, sent info to support for investigation with no improvement, and even tried to stream from the website ... all are choppy and unreliable now. Not sure what changed but it's so disappointing.

I received a free trial of this app because I used to have the Shine app (which was bought by Headspace). I was really hopeful that this would be a good substitute. It's not. I've been trying for 2 months to find a good way to use this. The sound is mixed so poorly - it has huge jumps in sound levels, abrupt changes in tone. ( it happens on all of my devices). It also gives you ads for their own features. I can't tell if the meditation voice is going to be femme or masc.

Just no. I redownload headspace and ended up more stressed. If you don't want to spend your money, don't get the app. You have to pay for all of it. That's REALLY annoying when it looks like it's free. There is NOTHING that is free except the "how to use headspace" video. EVEN THE BASICS are blocked. This app isn't free and it being advertised as so is annoying. A free trial will end and the app is useless. I've read the review replies and there's seemingly no plan to change it.

Great concept, but frustrating and unreliable app. I consistently have to close out the app and restart prior to it working and recognizing that I am a user. It sometimes will not pull content that I have saved (like the series), and trying to switch from monthly to annually billed subscription is hilariously frustrating. However, I do love the options to choose time, voice gender, and search for focused meditations and mindfulness. A wide array of options to address many situations.

I liked this app at first, but it became redundant. All the different types were essentially the same. Plus the cost is obscene. I honestly couldn't relaxed as I knew I had to cancel before the auto renewal. I'd be fine with a one time fee, but the continual fees are way too much. Update: for an app that actually puts helping people first and profits second, try Medito. It is amazing and free, but you can donate which I do.

Buggy. Sometimes I'll finish a session in a course, but the app won't update the progress in the course. Since I can't skip sessions, I can't progress. Seriously, how hard can it possibly be to get this to work right? Just playback audio tracks with a bit of conditional logic to sting things together. If your devs can't fix this, then at least give me the option to progress without your management getting in the way.

I paid for the membership & tried this app for several months, so I hope to provide a balanced opinion about it. Overall, I would recommend this app to beginners (such as myself) but I'm not sure if the benefits are worth the cost. If you're willing to explore, buy a membership for 1 or 2 months and see if it's worth it for yourself. Good: (i) Nice interface & videos; (ii) Good introductory courses. Bad: (i) After introductory courses, the content becomes repetitive. VERY repetitive. All the sessions are structured in exactly the same way - 1 or 2 minutes of general stuff followed by exactly the same body check/breathing routine. Frankly, right now I don't even need the app to do this as I know literally up top a minute what happens at what time. I'm sure that's a good way to scale up the content available in the app, but it's also lack of creativity on the app product team. The only creative part of the session - first 1 or 2 minutes, start feeling really trivial and cliché after a few weeks; (ii) Talking to people more experienced in meditation - there's more to it than just same mindless repetitive routine - I'm looking forward to explore those, but not with this app. (iii) Design/implementation defect - once the session starts being download it's literally impossible to download its different (perhaps, longer) version. If you're stuck on a bad network or in a spot with bad reception - good luck with waiting for download to be over. :)

There are plenty of free high quality meditations out there, but I love the Headspace experience. HOWEVER, I mainly use it to help me fall asleep... I remember deleting this app a few years ago because it would always, without fail, stop in the middle of a sleepscape. I had hoped they fixed it by now, but I guess not. I think it's too big to stream, in which case it would be very helpful to have a download option. Please fix this!

The meditations are great, but the set up is somewhat preditory. A payment method had to be put in at the beginning, which ends up charging you automatically for a year subscription at the end of the free trial. Be careful, and cancel that sub in time if you don't care about the non-free content. Headspace refunded me right away, so much credit to them.

I have had both headspace with and without the premium features. when I had it without the premium features, the meditation and sleep choices were limited more than what I think someone who can't afford a yearly and monthly subscription has. though I do understand why you would have to pay for it (with the amount of work put into making it), I do find it a bit unfair for them. overall, it's a pretty good app. I recommend trying the free trials first before buying the subscription.

An insomniac's best friend if you don't mind paying a monthly fee. At first, I was so disappointed that they started charging so much, but I have found it's worth it FOR ME, I can't speak for anyone else. I love that they just updated the sleepcasts with the narrators' name, this is so helpful! Update: I'm not sure what changed, but suddenly, if my screen locks for more than a min or two, the sleepcast will pause until I wake the screen up... This is counterproductive to peaceful/restful sleep.

Great app. It's easy to use and very helpful. I have one complaint however, don't worry it's nothing major. You could view it as me simply whining, but I wish that a little more things were free on the app. I understand that they want to produce profit, but there's only three available sleep podcasts. Which are all very helpful, and I would absolutely recommend this app to anyone who has problems falling asleep like I do! But it can get a little repetitive at times. Otherwise a wonderful app.

I've been using headapace for five months now, daily. It gives meditation a structure which I appreciate. I really like the themes and voices. i would absolutely buy the annual subscription again. The only thing I wish it had was a way to troubleshoot more deeply issues you are experiencing or the reasons you aren't progressing in the practice. I have felt stuck for a while now and want to take a deeper dive into the why, but have to look outside of Headspace for that.

I am impressed by how big this app as gotten! I was an avid user and subscriber back in 2015, and although it was life changing I ran out of interesting sessions. Now, I've gotten a subscription through work and have been amazed by the variety introduced. I don't think I'll ever get bored again. The downside is I miss the simplicity of the old version and it led you through tutorials as a beginner. There is too much clutter and decisions. I wish the daily meditations were more at the forefront.

I think this app is great, its very easy to use, the voice is calm and for me it was easy to fall into meditation. Its especially good for first timers and for those who need a break from their mind, like me. However, almost everything you have to pay for,which severely ruins the experience. Even if you finish the first free basic ten mediations, you cant even start the second set because its stuck behind a pay wall. Unless you got the money for it, i wouldnt recommend using this app long term.

App design is pretty awful. The UX is, quite ironically, cluttered unfocused. The guided meditations, similarly, don't leave much actual space for quiet meditation. The instructors feel the need to constantly be chattering on about random things, which in my opinion defeats the whole purpose. This is a great app to expose you to the basics of meditation. After that, you're much better off just putting on some ambient music and being with yourself.

This app was recommended to me by my psychiatrist, so I knew right away that it would be worth checking out. Headspace surpassed my expectations; it's easy to use, easier to navigate, and very effective in teaching the inexperienced to meditate. I especially enjoy the variety in session times, so I can pick between meditating for around 10 minutes or instead taking a shorter time. Also worth noting is that the app is just as helpful even if you don't purchase the extended packages; the 10 free sessions can be repeated without losing their impact. I have recommended this to friends in need of relaxation in the past, and would do so again. Definitely worth the download!
