I really don't see any reason why they had to abandon the old one and make a new one, other than money. I imagine this really being frustrating for people who actually bought the full version for a lot of money and now have to sign up for a monthly subscription, that doesn't seem legal. So there are way more ads, VoiceOver or other Text-to-Speech Programms aren't supported anymore (so my blind boyfriend can't play it at all) and overall the game just feels so pushy and not fun anymore.

The old game was nice and simple, for one-time fee the ads were gone if one wanted to. In the new version EVERYTHING is worse. It is much much slower in starting up, overloaded with additional stuff (e.g. arena, shop) that at least I don't want, the price to get rid of ads is outrageously expensive. And given the previous experience that one pays for something that is then not valid/available anymore a month later I would not pay anything to them. I better donate it to a homeless.

Still is fun, BUT: Ads are annoying, prices seems SOMETIMES steep (Arena seems to be pay2win with 10c a round?). I willingly paid 2€ to activate some stuff. But since "next" and "pay & next" are on the same spot. I accidentally wasted 1 Euro, thinking I was clicking on a regular "next" (happens every few seconds). Instead I was paying to advance faster - which I didn't want and wasn't warned about. Sure, I don't want my money back. But with issues like that I'll just stop playing the game AGAIN.

A good proportion of the questions are factually incorrect, which is quite annoying. The game itself also made a weird development in the last years, Ads are now everywhere, there's a weird level system, and daily missions. I miss the times of curated questions, when the game was focused on, well, Quizduels, rather than being a bloated piece of ads and microtransactions.

I paid for the old version to get rid of the ads, now forced to use the new version where they demand a monthly subscription to remove ads which I will certainly not do. Who knows? Maybe there's going to be a Quizduel 3 next year so they can rip us off again. No longer fun to play with these constant interruptions. Very disappointed since I loved playing against my family.

I paid a one time fee for the first version to not have to watch apps anymore. Now that old version is gone and they play ads after every one to two rounds that you can only close after a minimum of 10 seconds. The game has become completely unplayable and they want a monthly payment of 5€ to NOT have to watch ads which I had already paid for in the first place?? The greed is unbelievable, will not be playing this anymore as it is not enjoyable now. They completely ruined the game.

Not even nostalgia can save what has become of this app. The amount of ads is overwhelming, to a point where the VIP option feels like it's being forced on you. Enjoying the game seems downright impossible without it. An ad less than every 30 seconds... As a casual player, I didn't even manage 10 minutes without having to consider VIP, and in this case, I preferred to uninstall.

Only Good for playing with friends, everything else is trash The Ads are such a pain in the ass that it removes most of the fun playing this game. Tokens are a complete and utter joke, I rather just play quiz up, there I can play as much as I want without having to wait 30 seconds. Furthermore, the event questions are repetitive and predictable which after playing for 30 mins enables you to remember the correct responses, that's not the essence of a typical quiz game, right?

It once was a great quiz app but it now is being rendered dead by an unbearable oberload with ads. Also, all people having paid for the Premium version in the "old" Quizduell are being cheated with this new version! I paid for e lifelong ad-free Quizduell and now they just define it as a "new" version and therefore nullify your ad-free contract. Wow! That's really poor, MAG! Actually it's borderline fraud!

The most obnoxious ads I've ever seen. Could be a great game but I'm not willing to pay or put up with an ad after every click of a button it makes game play slow dull and drawn out

I came back to this app after a loong time. I'm quite disappointed. The ads are now just horrendous (reeally long, unskipable videos,). I did paid for the premium version -quite a while ago- to get rid of them but it was apparently in vain. The app now wants to sell me a monthly fee to enjoy it ads-free. Additionally, the questions are now full of typos and grammatical errors. Quite the shame. The game was fun.

The idea of quizzing against others in a category of your choice that the "arena gamemode" was built upon ist quite good. The implementation, however, is a disaster! If you want to achieve a high rank it isnt enough to watch a binch of repetitive advertisement, you even have to pay a lot for those overpriced tickets. And what for?...not worth the effort if you have to watch 15 spots and pay for another 20tickets if you only get 20 out! A limit of playable rounds per person would be better!

The app keeps playing music as soon as it is opened. It keeps playing music after the app is closer too. This is very annoying. It also plays ads in the middle of rounds instead of at the end of a round. This is very distracting and interrupts the timer. After the add there is very little time to read the question and answers and pick an answer.

So, first I got QuizDuel. It was a nice enough app, so I upgraded to Premium eventually. After a while, some functionalities like background customization were removed. Now I come back to see that I have to play in "new QuizDuel", where those customization have been added back behind a subscription model. Quite frankly, I feel scammed. Not that I paid a whole lot, but the whole process was taking features away from me to add them back at extra costs.

I get that Apps need to have some sort of income and I am generally fine with ads, but the way this game does it is horrible. After every round (3questions/a few seconds) you get a ad, this is fine for me. But having to press 2x skip AND on x to close most ads, having to wait multiple timers for the skip or close buttons to show in a single ad, having the close buttons in different corners each time, buttons way to small and even buttons that seem to close the ad, but open the ad is very bad.

This new version is pretty bad.. It loads and runs really slow, even on new phones - that's just bad programming! Also, battery consumption is outragious. On top of that, it's now so full of annoying ads you can't skip.. I've played a lot less since. Not really fun anymore! :( As a compromise, put some normal ads in the regular game, and keep the unskippable ads to earn credits. I can see totally that developers need to pay bills too, that's why I'd bought the premium version in the past!

In case you didnt notice from the overall score, the "new" version svcks big time. You spend as much time watching stvpid (and deceitful... yes, deceitful because they have nothing to do with actual gameplay) ads as playing. Worst of it, you can't skip them and are stuck watching 30-45 seconds of nonsensical, repetitive $hlt instead of playing. Navigation is worse than the old version, Sounds dont work on my Huawei, I keep on having to close the app and start over again to check if my opponent played ... in short : a complete failure no matter how many fancy animations they put in this thing. From what i read, the ad free version is 6$/month ?!?? are you kidding ?!?? I learn actual languages for a fraction of that money with other apps. 1 star is already too much. As soon as i find a viable alternative, I'm gone.

The game itself is great and the multi-player aspect works very well. The ads however nearly completely ruin the experience, I understand the need for ads but the fact that they're so intrusive and in a lot of cases completely unskippable lead me to constantly have to force close the app just to get the ad away. Don't do ads like this, this is very annoying. The app itself is great though 👌🏽
