I've just started but so far I've not had any issues and I am thoroughly enjoying this game. if I encounter any issues or things that may change this rating I will be back to do so. Update: still a fantastic mobile game and other than an occasional crash I have had no issues. Only ads are optional and they are very little.

Graphics are incredible. It captures the charm of the original FF7 w/o its limitations. Story is decent, it hits the main beats, skips the in-between. Gameplay is subpar. It has the pitfalls of a gacha game (FOMO incl.). Minimal map exploration. Battles simplistic, being mostly automatic. Imho, turning this into a free game severely diminishes the fun of the game by monetizing equipment, limiting the battle system to bare bones FF13. I'm disappointed. I recommend this for casual story only.

This took a ton of memory to install, and wasn't worth the time. The gacha system ruins everything with notification after notification of "ticket draws" and takes away the thrill of searching for and finally acquiring that rare item from a chest in the game. And as for game play I wasn't allowed to move in the game after the 1st mission at the reactor. Constant cutscenes you don't even have to move to the area for, and they're all like a minute before pointlessly kicking you back to homescreen.

The game is literally unplayable. I've been trying just to even START the game since day one release across two different emulators on PC as well as my phone itself. Every single device comes to the same Network Error "Unable to connect" every single time. It's been almost a week with the same results after installing, uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing the cache, changing between wifi and data and checking for updates.

Been waiting for this seemingly forever. Game itself is probably a 4/5, if you're into FF7. However, the massive amount of in-app purchases (most of which are not even close to "micro" transactions) and the gacha aspects bring the rating down a star each. The problems that Android users can experience drop the rating down further. After encountering issues that caused full data loss myself, can't give this more than a single star. Play the remakes if you like the setting. Not this.

Interesting story, i guess. Way too much going on in the user interface to be a phone game. Not the kind of game i see myself playing for longer than a couple weeks at most. Gacha mechanics for equipment and linear levels to the story with Auto play button makes it really unnecessary to try strategy and it's just a better graphic version of afk arena.

Fun, but a little buggy. I am a long-time Final Fantasy fan and love this addition. However, the game is bugged. It has closed the app on me multiple times out of nowhere. It will randomly bring me back to the login screen. The game has froze on multiple occasions. A more specific issue with hitting the back button in the co-op events randomly takes me to the normal co-op page. There were a couple of others, but I don't remember the specifics (I'll note them next time)

So there are definitely good and bad. When its cooking, everything looks gorgeous. I love the stylized overworld character models and all the working parts that really make you fondly remember the original in all its imperfections. **edit: Theres a major connection issue preventing game play right now. Once fixed, I'll raise the score further.

This certainly is a way to experience Final Fantasy 7, though I would argue it's got about as much value as watching a let's play or a long play. The game has way too much stuff going on and shoves micro-transactions down your throat constantly. I was utterly disappointed by this and really wish that Square cared enough to make the a game first and money generator second. Way too little gameplay, too many corners cut, and too little care. You should just emulate it or get a real version instead.

It's ridiculous how often the game crashes on me when I try to play the game. I have already reinstalled at least 2 times to try to fix the crashing issues for the game. I tried some recommended fixes like not doing the full download, but it is still happening. Been having fun overall when it works, but right now it is unplayable for me with how it even crashes often when launching the app.

Graphics and battles are pretty neat, auto mode is cool. Aside from that, Main menu UI is very clogged. The absurdness of shoving microtransactions is over the top in this one, everything is $$$, there are like 6 shops in the game, 5 are real money. Also battle pass is $14 for 1 month, thats too high. Other games offer $10 for two months, which is more acceptable. And also, there are "view adds to get rewards" menu, preposterous.

After a big update the crashing has stopped and as I promised I changed my rating. Amazing graphics and art. Love the weapons and the new story with the Class Zero SOLDIER. Only have a few gripes with it. First is the unfortunate possibility of the events ending early due to Square's decisions and there isn't a way to setup running a quest for multiple attempts and it's all individual clicks.

It's a meh game. Typical party combat system set in the FF universe. The online aspects are annoying as one bad connection from someone else will boot you back to the main start screen. It's annoying to have to constantly click to repeat a battle to grind when every other game in the similar vein has an auto-sweep function to save time. Overall, there's no reason to spend money on this game, and it's VERY predatory since it shoves paid boosts in your face every time you do something.

Pros: The game looks fantastic, both as a successor to FF7 and as a mobile game. It summarizes the main story beats in a usually interesting way. I would love a faithful remake that looks exactly like this. Cons: That's definitely not what this is. The game is 40% micro transactions, 50% menu management, and 10% auto battles. Exploration is negligible and there's zero reason to play combat manually. Conclusion: If you like FF7 it can be fun revisiting its story and the prequel/side games.

Great game. Can't put it down. However, my one gripe is the season pass. After completing it I still have like 12 days left of no rewards. I think there should be extension of rewards you can get. Even if it's only like 100 crystals per level after you complete it. 13 or 14 bucks for the rewards we get just aren't worth getting every month if that's the case.

In game shop simulator! Can't go 5 seconds without a pop up or some other garbage trying to get me to spend $5 on a miniscule weapon upgrade. Remember that awesome Airbuster boss fight with multiple stages? Well in this version of the "game" I killed it with auto-battle in about 7 seconds. This is the worst final fantasy product I have ever played, and it is highly disappointing because I was looking forward to this game for a long time.

The maintenance needs better announcement. Today's update hit the neverending load screen. Had to reinstall to get the game to launch and lost all progress. Couldn't get a recovery link due to this, which becomes the reason for the rating. I don't feel like replaying and going through that annoying tutorial for every new opening again with no option to turn it off permanently. Design better and make it easier to recover your account if your glitch reappears.

absolutely beautiful and fun revision of ff7 and accompanied content! Brings me back 7 years old me playing ff7 on ps1....but with loot boxes lol. (Update as of 10/02/23) The game has crashed multiple times. For seemongly no reason. Im playing on a Galaxy s22 ultra. The game has crashed just by doing a weapon draw. Now, the game won't get past the loading screen after the title screen. Had to transfer my data. Here's hoping reinstalling will help. Will be livid if my progress is gone.
