Description of Chess

Hi Players,

As you know, Chess is one of the oldest strategy games in the world.
Chess is an excellent board logic game that develops such skills as tactics, strategy and visual memory.
I'm trying to create an application that allows a player of any level to enjoy the game.

Play Chess, unlock levels and be Chess Master!

Chess pieces:

- The pawn moves to one field forward or two fields at the first move of this figure; beats diagonally to one field forward.
- The king moves to one field in the vertical, horizontal or diagonal.
- The queen moves to any distance vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
- The rook moves to any distance vertically or horizontally.
- The knight moves to the field two fields along the vertical and one horizontally or one field vertically and two horizontally.
- The bishop moves to any distance diagonally.

Important Chess situations:

- Check - the situation in chess when a king is under immediate attack by opponent's pieces
- Checkmate - the situation in chess when the player whose turn it is to move is in check and has no legal move to escape check.
- Stalemate - the situation in chess when the player whose turn it is to move has no legal move and is not in check. (draw)

The goal of the game is to checkmate the other king.

Two special moves in Chess:

- Castling is a double move, performed by the king and the rook that never moved.
- En passant is a move in which a pawn can take an opponent's pawn if it jumps over a field under the pawn's blow.

I think the app is well designed overall. However, there should be user play instructions included within the main menu. For example, I do not know how to execute a "castle" move with this app. I find the lack of instructions problematic. Other than this singular flaw, the app is very enjoyable.

great overall game would like a feature that allows me to go back and look at moves. Just beat 2 levels after hard unlocked candidate master or something. Its awesome, but I would like to go back and see where I went right and where I went wrong. I'd also like the option to play monster house or other variations.

It's chess, straight forward. Two things, one, please add a timer for games as an option. Also, I was under the impression that after a certain number of conservative checks, you win, but it took 20 some straight checks and it ended in draw. If every person I've ever played chess with, and Google, is wrong, please let me know, thanks.

This is a great option to learn strategy. There is a hint button that really helps you to see things you wouldn't have noticed, although it prevents the award for finishing without help. But it's really satisfying to play and win without the help after trying over and over on higher difficulties. The ads aren't bad at all. Just every now and then. Perfect chess game.

I've put many many hours in this game to pass the time. There is no repetitive patterns and each game is quite unique. I love how dev scales skill level as you progress. Having the back option after any play is very useful if your trying to learn and develop your game (ok, and when you make a mistake). I also use checkers by same dev. overall, I wouldn't even look at another chess app unless your after online game play. ads are acceptable as only on start/end of game. highly recommend.

This app is an excellent way to play chess on my phone. I would change my rating to 5 stars pending only one recommendation. I have on occasion pressed the undo button by accident mid-game thereby reversing my previous move. It seems small but doing this will prevent unlocking the next level of difficulty when playing against AI and a new game will have to be won without making this mistake before levels can be unlocked. I suggest that an 'are you sure' prompt should happen after undo is pressed

I have been using this app to practice strategy for years but with recent updates you now have to watch an ad to do any out of game action. Want to change you settings? Ad. Want to return to the menu? Ad. I hope that the app developer is making a lot of money because they just lost a lifetime chess player... I'll stick to my physical board at home. Find a better chess app and save yourself some time.

Most aspects are decent. The AI is kinda stupid but I guess that's what you can expect from a PvCPU chess game. However, the check/checkmate detection system is rigged, or at least badly coded; whenever I get into checkmate, 90% of the time it says it's a draw and I need to replay it to get to the next level. However, it has only been maybe once that it was a true draw out of around 20 games, where the others should've counted as checkmates. It's only allowed me 1 win and I can't get past Easy.

This computer plays at realistic levels for those trying to beef up their game. Also, the 2 player mode really allows you to run different lines that you want to practice easily, especially since you can undo bad moves to replay different tactics. A great time killer & skill polisher with minimal ads. Definitely my "go to" chess app.

Worked into becoming a much more improved player with this app. At the hard level, it's challenging enough to find different openings; The realization becomes apparant; game momentum is key. I've less fear of sacrificing pieces in play now. Sometimes at expert level the computer makes obvious mistakes in my favore; that's when the back button helps overcome this. The computer will not allow me "en´paussaunt," but does itself. (The only negative) - great graphics, stats board and choice in levels

Great game. Only problem is that I'm still learning all the moves, so when you're destroyed by a challenge it doesn't give the player the chance of going back to understand how you could've beaten it. Idc about progression through the levels, I just need to understand how to get myself out of tight spots that I didnt realize were possible. Makes it very hard to learn how to not lose 😬😿

I was hesitant to get a chess app for my phone because the one I played years ago was not very good. This one seems much better, and the increase in difficulty through the early levels was a good refresher, as i have not played chess for a while. I'm hoping the play proves really challenging in the last couple of levels, but either way it's been fun to play.

I would recommend this chess app, although just to warn you ahead of time. When you get to the master level and then some the computer is set to ruthless mode. Just think of a player that has no respect for his opponent or the game, and that's who you're playing against. I think they went a little much for master and grandmaster and although I enjoy the challenge it just doesn't feel genuine in full. But would still recommend for beginners, advanced and more. As a beginner, I enjoy the analysis mode feature. It rates both player's moves and shows a suggested move too. This mode lets me reflect on the game, taking into account. The settings let me choose a board theme and perspective (e.g., top down or human user perspective), and whether I want to play black, white, or alternate. I'm very pleased with my experience on this app. Thanks!

Super challenging, I've always loved chess as a child, but after I transfered schools no one ever wanted to play with me. This app gives me the entertainment I want and the challenge I need. if your brand new you can play at and educational edition plus you can turn on "suggested moves". It's beautiful, smooth, and feels natural, almost like playing a real game. Thank you so much!!

The computer is literally teaching me how to play by beating me over and over. In order to beat each higher level, you have to think more and more moves ahead and create more situations where the computer has to choose between losing two different pieces instead of just one piece. I cant beat the master computer level. I'll have to play around 200 more games to probably beat it.

I enjoyed that it allows you to progress from beginner and win your way to tougher games. I cheated & moved 1 turn back. I think it would force me to get tougher if I had to suffer for my errors. Still it's a great trainer. Keep on enjoying it. I haven't played in years. I'd like to try more master openings. I've forgotten most. But the Sicilian defense can be employed nicely here. Great setup! Thanks for letting me see what I've lost verses retained. It definitely has nice pieces Best wishes!

I've tried and played alot of chess games online ect. This one is by far the best and the one I enjoy playing .It's graphics are excellent I like you can see every move you make clearly on the board without pieces obstructing you view of the playing field.I also like the different challenging levels ect. No glitches or issues at all and I've had this game for a little over a year or so.Only negative is adds adds adds when you start the next level.
