Loved playing it when I was little. With the introduction of ads, it seems like characters die easier so the game can try to make you watch an ad to revive. Also, Tails can't swim anymore. Why can't he swim anymore?

Does not work with Switch Pro controller, the instant you start up a game it exits to the pause menu repeatedly, even if you restart/exit the game. Otherwise a fine port.

I can't play the game at all. The menus work fine, but as soon as I get into the actual game, it pauses. I can try to unpause it, but it'll re-pause automatically. Oh, the part where it'll take your $2 to remove ads works fine too. So I guess I know what their priorities are.

I love this version of the game but I have 2 small Problems with it 1.when you play as sonic and tails. The top speed animation for tails doesn't play when your moving fast it does however show when you play as just tails 2. If your playing as sonic and tails when running on those twisting/spiral in emerald hill zone act 1 and 2 tails will outrun sonic and stop and fall it's more prominent in act 2 when taking the higher Route to the boss fight Other than that the game is a great

It seems like a solid port of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Its wide screen, a cool new intro. However, please.... please fix multi-player. Every game, every time I try, it crashes one shape or another. Where is Sonic 3 & Knuckles ?

Good game but it have gitches: 1. When I die when my character is Sonic & tails in save mode. I play only a sonic character, but for some reason tails comes in. 2.when you play this game for a long time, ads will be lesser to see. But still a good game!

Now this game is a classic and im happy that the game was ported to mobile and the fact that it has widescreen and let alone fun. But the reason i gave this a 3 star review is that say if youre in Metropolis Zone, any act. Instead of starting the game with your typical 3 lives, now you just start with only one. And Metropolis zone is pretty much the hardest zone in the game considering it also has 3 acts instead of 2. And if youre in a jam you just get a game over. Why was this an update anyway?

A classic, though the boss fights may get confusing and frustrating since they don't give you that much information to work with but you can't get stuck on it for that long. Overall good level design and fun gameplay!

My god, what a perfect stroll down memory lane. What an absolute piece of triumph in this day and age! The perfect blend of old school sentiment mixed with cleaned up graphics, slightly altered game mechanics, and clever nods to other iterations. Super amazing! get it?! it's so much fun being super sonic but 🍑 sometimes it is very hard to control the character when it's in his super form, in wing fortress zone it's really hard to control the character because Sonic easily falls off the plane. And tails doesn't have a super form,and SEGA if you're reading this please give tails a super form. The hardest zone is metropolis zone it's not easy to complete the level because this little Starfish come out of nowhere to spike Sonic's bottom.

Very fun. Played it multiple times and it hasn't gotten old yet. Some zones and getting all of the Chaos Emeralds can be a frustrating challenge, but it's seriously worth it. Much better than the first game. High quality, wonderful soundtrack, interesting levels and boss battles, it's a wonderful experience.

Classic game if meant to be played single player. Its awesome to being it to mobile. However, i find the joy of the 2p versus. As fun as it is, it is a big upset as well. Network stability between players is unreliable. You finish 1 stage in lets say a 3 stage game, you play one game and find out the game connection was lost. Please fix the 2p versus mode. I will gladly give 5 stars when it becomes more stable.

I loved this game as a kid and now I love that it's at my fingertips and I can go in play when I have time. Just like I remember. The only knocks I have are the controls being on a phone aren't quite as easy to work with which is kind of expected. Also I paid for the ad free version but for some reason I've still been getting the occasional ad.

This mobile version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is a must have for any Sonic fan. The ability of being able save after every act, Hidden Palace Zone, a wider field of veiw, Tails being less annoying in Special Stages, the "Knuckles In" mode, Tails being able to fly/swim/pick up Sonic, and the ability to restart Special Stages are amazing! This is the first version of Sonic 2 i've beaten abd is the best version of the game hands down.

Great port of the game. Really fun and challenging, especially the later stages. Fun and addicting. Still a little upset about it being free with ads. Anyway, I noticed this weird little glitch where Tails appeared in my Sonic only save after getting a game over in my Sonic and Tails save and skipping it. Other than that little glitch, the game is amazing.

Nice job SEGA, you made a game that DELETED MY SONIC SAVE AND MADE IT SONIC AND TAILS!!!!! It was in the same place, but I couldn't play as sonic and all the slots are filled. Also I can't see half the screen most of the time because of an add, and I'm not paying to get rid of them, so please fix it. (Also, they mostly just show up in no save mode, which is super enraging, sense the only way to fix it is to close the whole app.)

Being able to revisit and completely replay Sonic 1, 2, and CD is truly great- and out of those 3 games, this happens to be my favorite! Just like the other 2, this game has widescreen, extra features and fixes, but unlike the other ports, this game has a new hidden zone not in the original StH 2 (and fixes special stages thank goodness). Just one thing I don't like, the games mobile controls feel wonky, you play with a thumbstick instead of a D-Pad, although in the Sonic CD port, it is a D-Pad.

It's Sonic 2. It's a great game. So that is worth getting it alone. But if you choose to play with ads, be prepared to suffer through watching them consitently. I was able to beat the game. But when I tried to play again, the ads went too far and made even the first level unplayable with them blocking the screen.
