Description of Miiriya Black Owned Businesses

The word Miiriya is a word from the African language of Bambara/Dioula, my native language. The word means “Thoughts” and “Ideas.” It can be used in many ways. In specific cases it can also mean “Philosophers” or “Thinkers.”

Miiriya, a place to shop Black Owned Businesses, gathers people who believe in ideas, change, and come together as creatives and thinkers to make those ideas come true. It’s a place that aims to provide you with whatever comes to mind.

Vendors can sign up using the human icon at the top right on the website. There are no transaction fees and no listing fees. I pay out of pocket to maintain the website’s bills.

The application process is trash. I've tried numerous times & activate my account. They send you a link to your email, click it but it doesn't work. This might be a scam.

I texted these people to become a vendor and get financial help and they said it takes 1-3 days to respond. I sent them multiple messages to remind them and its been 2 months, tge responded once but didn't help, second time I contacted them. No responses, the will post on social media, when they post like literally 5 to 15 mins after I will common their post, and messages them and still no answer, dud this every day for a month and decide to finally give up. Very disappointed.

I love this app! It's been helpful to me as a business owner. It's also fun to shop! My only suggestion is moodboards to help personalize the shopping experience, but beyond that I love how the app helps the community.

I had high hopes for the wigs! They're all synthetic sadly. Overall the app has a lot of great things but I was hoping to find a nice wig on here.

Glitches.. So, I'm really loving this app so far but I can't view certain items and pricing isn't shown all the time. The app forces itself to shut down randomly and that's a bummer

I think there's room for improvement but I'll give the devs of this app props for having altruistic goals and trying to empower our community. The app opened quickly for me and while I think the developers could have a better categorical system, the sellers themselves sold the typical things modern small BOBs sell. The app is so far simple to use and has potential.

I loved to idea of this but once downloaded I uninstalled. Not very many options for purchases and I got excited about custom shoes but every single option or combo that I tried was out of stock. And the pictures looked dirty, the shoes were dirty and the boots they had a picture of were sitting in top of a dirty cooler.

This ain't it... It's a gimmick app full of products one would expect to find at a dollar store (at best.) I get it, "Black Owned" is in its name. You're supposed to feel like you're "doing a good thing" by overpaying for tchotchkes. No one wins with gimmicks like these. If Black sellers need a race-based marketplace to sell a few more items, they need to look inward. Selling better merchandise at a competitive price is the only way to succeed and maintain success.

This app is buggy, not user friendly, and not well designed. Furthermore, you're absolutely SOL if you have a lost package or get a refund because they'll never approve it. The business I purchased from submitted a refund request on 7/21 and it is now 8/10 with no communication from Miiriya regarding a refund (despite an initial email stating otherwise) I will not be using this app to purchase products anymore - strictly for finding black owned businesses.

AMAZING. it was so nice, there were beautiful categories, amazing projects. art peices, just so amazing. I think it's so important to have a place for black businesses so we can really support them. I think this is such a good idea. you should really download this ❤ 10/10 would reccomend.

UI could use some tweaking (I noticed I couldn't pick and confirm a size for a product and the search function isn't very intuitive) but very satisfied with the storefront and offerings!

Incredible! Probably one of the best shopping apps around! All my orders came in on time (sometimes even earlier) , the sellers are glamorous, and it's a very easy app to navigate!

This is possibly the best app to use when looking for things to buy. Not only so many options but also allows you to support small black owned business. As a white person I'm always trying to help support my poc friends and love to see new things like this popping up!! Though I haven't officially bought anything yet, some of my friends have and too have reported wonderful things coming from the app. Overall it's a wonderfulapp keep up the AMAZING work!!!
